Recording Digital TV to Hard Disc - Must Have

Disadvantages: The temporarily restricted power of terrestrial digital transmissions

Olympus DM1 - An Mp3 player to definately consider

Advantages: Magnificent Sound Quality, Good Ergonomics (i.e generally comfortable to hold and use), Very light (about the weight of half a bag of pub nuts), 22 hours anc 10 minutes of recordings, Highly sensitive microphone, has a Variable Control Voice Actuator
Disadvantages: Only displays 10 characters on the screen - so reading artist name and song is difficult, volume control button is small and fiddley, more of a voice recorder than an MP3 player (as I later found out, with only 60 minutes of music time)

It had taken me about 40 minutes to load up 10 songs (all approximately 4MB each) which when you are on the run, and want to just load your songs and go, is a bit of a tie down. ...'t do this it turns itself off after about 1minute but I generally use the hold button to save the battery life. The instructions are fairly easy to follow and I have referred to them a couple of times and found the answer I wanted. Overall, I am very pleased with this digital voice recorder. I think it is ideal for what I want and with it being so small (9.5cm x 3.8cm x 1.1cm) it can easily fit into my pocket or my handbag. It fits well on the desk at university and made it easy to find a place to stand it when I went to collect the data for my child study. I also think people who would like to record meetings etc would find this useful. I paid £79.99 for this device from Argos at the beginning of December. Thanks for reading!...

Digifusion FVRT200 Hard Drive Recorder

Advantages: Twin tuner, ease of use, easy to navigate remote control, 14 day EPG
Disadvantages: Needs good reception, makes some running noises

The only issue I have had with the set up is the background of the menu and EPG guide screens which is a patterned blue background which can make it difficult to read what's onscreen unless you're reasonably close to the screen. Additionally a weekday record function as opposed to a daily or once function would be helpful for soaps but I can mange deleting the weekend recordings! Functionality This machine really is fantastic. I can watch one program and record another, or record two at the same time. It's changed the way I watch TV. I set it all to record and then watch things when I have time. The hard drive is big enough to store at least two weeks worth of your favourite programs. The picture quality is great, but I have had several problems with reception for the digital tuners. Whilst the box is hooked up to our rooftop...

Review of Little Voice (DVD)

Voices of a Distant Star

Advantages: Stunning visuals, fantastic music, touching storyline.
Disadvantages: Character models slightly off, naive core values are easily criticised.

...well as epic space quests. The art and animation provoked a less mixed reaction from me. The backgrounds are lush and dynamic, if a bit heavy on bloom effects. There are plenty of spectacular views. However, the character?s faces seem strangely bulbous and angular, the overall lack of character animation beyond small movements suggesting a general lack of confidence in that department. Everything else, while quite uninspired, is still animated smoothly but lacks the outlandishness that is a big part of anime?s appeal to me. Generic sci-fi elements such as ancient ruins and spaceship battles are all well implemented, but rarely impress beyond their technical proficiency. While originally voice-acted by Shinkai and his fiancé, a professional recording was produced for the DVD release. I can?t comment reliably on the Japanese dub, but...
