Major problem I found is that the only payment method they accept for installments is direct debit thus if you don't have a direct debit set you can't have the policy unless you pay in full. I find this quite abusive and a means to control personal finance they will not accept cheque/visa or even debit (big company like this)! I hate direct debits with being self employed and with varying income dates this is far too rigid and more about the company than that of it's consumers. They do have the facility to accept visa/debit payments they just refuse to accept them for installments! I was involved in an accident last year, they constantly tried to get out of paying for the car to be repaired, over expensive and total waste of time, no resonable answers back from staff and all management are useless!! Once through it would transpire that these deals were not all they were made out to be. Eventually I turned to Direct Line as my motoring insurance costs were escalating to ridiculous proportions. Within minutes they had undercut their rivals by quite a considerable amount.
