...I have had catalogues in the past and they always seem to end up the same, you decide not to buy for a while and they continue to pester you for ages afterwards. So after a while of not having a catalgue I decided to apply for a Next Directory, after all I was mostly shopping at Next anyway so I thought it made sense. Shortly after receiving my directories, I had a letter from them saying that I could take advantage of free next day delivery on my first order valid upto a certain date. So, I decided to take them up on this offer. It was actually a wednesday evening (after 5pm) that I placed an order online so it was actually scheduled to be delivered before 1pm on the friday as I had missed the cut off for the next day, which I didn't see a problem with. Advantages: Easy,Reliable, Quick fix home shopping.... & you get the clothes before they are in store.
Disadvantages: Men enjoy it too.

Next Directory - Dont judge a book by it's cover

Advantages: Good range of products. Fast delivery.
Disadvantages: Customer Service is abysmal. Charging for catalogue. Stopped the delivery to store option

...In the past i had always been quite happy with the service received from Next - however now my opinion of them has changed drastically and once the directory bill is paid of and my issued with them have been resolved the directory will definitely be cancelled!!! My wife and i moved into our new house and ordered a dining table, 6 chairs, a sideboard unit and a mirror to furnish our dining room. This arrived but unfortunately the sideboard unit had to be sent back. This was however quickly rectified and a new one was sent to us. No problem with that - these things happen. 11 months down the line we noticed that the dining table had started to develop a split in the veneer down one of the legs. Again rang customer service and they agreed to replace it - great you would think!!! NOT SO!! We are now on our SEVENTH delivery...

The People Directory

Advantages: NOT a dating site, genuine members, it works!!!!
Disadvantages: quite new so needs more members

...I've come across what seems to be quite a new website - The People Directory (www.thepeopledirectory.com). It works in a similar way to dating sites - you join and create your profile. The difference is that you then put your profile into ready made sections covering almost everything!!! There must be the best part of 100 categories from sport to politics, friendship to travelling. (By the way - there IS a dating section under the friendship section if that's what you want). This website definately has genuine people on it - I know because I've already made a new contact through it. It seems much more grown-up than many contact sites - there are a lot of members 30 to 60 years old, and very few younger members (in fact if you read the Terms & Conditions they don't allow anyone under 18 too). When I receive my catalogue I could not believe the size of it. It was a book. It must have well over 1000 pages. It was hard back aswell. When I received it I picked out a few things to order and placed my order on line. As a new customer I also saved on the delivery cost, normally £2.95. They have an extreme wide variety of clothes and their sizes range from 6 to 22 so there is something in there for everyone. They also do accessories, footwear and swimwear. ...submit button, was given a message that there was a problem submitting my complaint, and a number to phone instead. but guess what, the number is not in service. customer servicesa just keep referring me to the courier department, who apparently are still looking for the ipods - yeah right. so while someone has made off with them, i'm paying for them! top service next! God forbid anyone else should have a similar problem, as there seems to be nowhere that you can complain or get anything sorted, and you'll spend a fortune on their 5p a minute customer service call lines, on hold mostly, and getting nowhere. my reccommendation is - DON'T TOUCH NEXT DIRECTORY WITH A BARGE POLE - THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS!!...

Its always a mouth-watering moment when the new Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer Next Directory is delivered to my door, but never as much as the Spring/Summer 2003 Directory for Next home shopping has been. I positively dribbled, although not entirely for the range of fashions for Womenswear, Menswear, Childrenswear and Homeware, but for the presentation, even though all the ranges themselves are delectable. Yes, the glossy pages, high quality photographs, clear descriptions, sizing guides and the stunning, brightly coloured deck-chair striped hard outer cover certainly catch the interest and the eye. However, the enclosed complimentary CD-ROM which contains the complete Next Directory range is a stroke of pure marketing genius. Whose Next?

Advantages: Reliable, Quick Delivery, Good Quality

...I think I have fallen in love for the first time - with the Next Directory. I have had a directory for ages and order the odd thing from it but recently I have ordered more and more. The Next shop where I live in really sparse and although includes mens, women?s and children?s it?s a small shop and it doesn?t contain any of the home bits and bobs that I love. Now Next Directory is not cheap. Its good quality but not everything is cheap like you would expect from a catalogue. Because lets face it Next Directory is a catalogue ? just like Littlewoods or Freemans it?s a buy now pay later method. When signing up you get a lovely hard-backed catalogue delivered to your door however they do charge you for this.
