Dirt Devil MVP Swivel Glide Vacuum

Advantages: Brought up dirt I didn't know I had.
Disadvantages: Harder to push than I thought.

...We moved to America around 15 years ago with only 2 suitcases, and shipped 3 tea chests. These were personal items, and arrived 3 months later. We bought a Eureka upright vacuum and it was still going strong 9 months ago. We had seen on television and in the newspapers, bagless vacuum cleaners with hepa filters. We decided that when they came below $200 (£130) we would purchase one. We love to go to "Sams Club", part of the Wal-mart chain, and they had a great offer on. Dirt Devil MVP swivel glide Vacuum M086420 for $179 (£115). The best part of this deal included a free Dirt Devil corded hand vac worth $39 (£25). We jumped with delight and purchased it immediately. My husband loves to hoover. My friends laugh when I say this, as it is a brand name, they say vacuuming. He tried it out. We have 1,700 square feet of area. He...

Red Devil Cleaner

Advantages: Cost and efficiency
Disadvantages: A little lumbering, filters a pain to clean

...I have had this cleaner now over 9 months and now having just had to empty it yet again, it has moved me to comment!! The cleaner itself works fine, it has a business like head and apparent flexibility. However the size of the head prevents getting into awkward corners and tight spaces, it could easily be more compact. That said the suction power and head configuration is effective in picking up household dust and dirt. It is a little lumbering to trail behind you, preferring straight lines to the reality of dodging around furniture. However its the bagless aspect which is most frustrating. Whilst a dirt trap and a filter may seem appealing (and even spare filters are supplied with the cleaner), the removal and clean up of same is a work up in itself. The pictures show just rinsing said filter under the tap. In your dreams...

Dirt Devil Vision M086925 Vacuum

Advantages: 12 amps of power for super suction!
Disadvantages: The size is the only downfall here

...How many vacuums can a person go through before they find the one that works just right? Well, for me I went through one to many. I wanted a bag less vacuum with a lot of power and for a fairly good price. I shopped around and compared prices and finally I chose the Dirt Devil Vision Model 086925. Having an ever shedding Dalmatian and a long haired cat, I needed something to get up all that hair and with the 12 amps of power I get from the Dirt Devil; I have finally won the pet hair war. For $149.00 I definitely got my moneys worth. The Swivel Glide is loaded with extras like a non-slip handle because you never know when you may lose your grip and your vacuum and a headlight for when you get the desire to clean in the dark and of course places not well lighted in your home. The dirt container is large enough for whole house...

Demon Dirt Be Gone With Dirt Devil

Advantages: Easy to use, lightweight, good suction
Disadvantages: Hair/ string buildup on underside

...Who really enjoys cleaning? I personally hate cleaning, although it has to be done, if you have the right tools cleaning can be quick and painless. With The Dirt Devil 85500 Upright Vacuum I can easily clean all the carpet in my home in a fair amount of time, which leaves more time for me to do what I really love, write Reviews. Not only is this vacuum light weight, it is rather small compared to other model vacuums and stores well in my closet. This is my second Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner, the other one I shall not name specifically, however I will say I wasn't impressed. The Dirt Devil 85500 Upright Vacuum has many neat features that allow you to not only clean carpets, but gives you the power to clean blinds, curtains, rugs, cars, and ceiling fans. This vacuum is so easy to use, my five year old daughter loves to help me...

Dirt Devil DD150SL

Advantages: Small portable vacuum ideal for samll spaces and tight stowage
Disadvantages: Fiddle to fit flexible long reach hose

...tight or awkward places. Emptying is simplicity itself. You merely remove the dustbag, turn it inside out and shake. Best done outdoors then, but I have to say so much better than more complex arrangements. When this model eventually wears out I will certainly replace it with another. Summary: Compact hand held vacuum, ideal for small spaces...

Dirt Devil Pet Patrol...what a (fallen?) angel!

Advantages: Makes quick work of the stairs
Disadvantages: Only seems to be avail at Argos. See updates.

...get those pesky pet hairs and give your carpet a 'deep clean'). These are easy to use and you can see how good the whole system is by the amount of dust and other unsavoury stuff that accumulates in the see through, bagless dust container. The dust container is also easy to empty and clean. For the technical amongst you, you will be pleased to learn that the Dirt Devil Pet Patrol hand held rechargeable vacuum cleaner has a batter voltage of 10.8 volts and the charger input voltage is 220 to 240 V. It also has a high efficiency cyclonic system. I would like to tell you how much it weighs but as my scales (both kitchen and bathroom) are packed for the move, I can't! However, I can tell you that when boxed it weighs 3 kgs. All in all, it is great! I must say, based on my first use of it this afternoon when it took less than five...

It's a devil alright

Advantages: Looks nice
Disadvantages: Useless

...Dirt Devil is a brand many of us have heard about and simply put to the back of our minds. Unlike Remington, Dyson, Sony they somehow just don't stay prominent when one is considering purchasing. This could be due to the fact that they are for the most part at least largely unseen. Yet if you google Dirt Devil you'll get loads of results. I was looking for a small handheld vacuum primarily for the car, and after doing little research stumbled upon a really good deal. £16.99 for this little rechargeable Dirt Devil. The unit comes complete with a charger which easily plugs into the socket on the Devil. The packaging is adequate, but on reflection it did give a little hint as to the contents. It comes with a few basic tools including that thing with the thin end. It is bagless but does have a little cloth filter...

Better The Devil You Know

Advantages: Excellent suction, cheap
Disadvantages: Heavy, noisy

...and buy a more expensive machine. Again purse strings prevailed and the machine I ended up with was a Dirt Devil DD9002. Opinion on Dirt Devil vacuum cleaners seems to vary dramatically, it would seem people either love them or hate them (a bit like Marmite but with more suction power!) Dirt Devil ?Rascal? hand vacuuming units are well known and I?ve always found them really reliable, but I hadn?t realised that Dirt Devil make full sized machines. Of course the old adage ?You get what you pay for? certainly comes into play here ? this machine is no Dyson but for £78 you shouldn?t be expecting Dyson quality and personally I love it. The two things I was looking for in a vacuum cleaner were that it was bagless and upright?oh and not made by Sanyo after my last vacuum cleaner experience. This little baby fits the bill on those counts but...

A Devil of a Hoover!

Advantages: see op
Disadvantages: see op

...Like all the people who seem to write vacuum cleaner reviews on Ciao, I had a Dyson, but with excessive cleaning and general wear and tear, my Dyson began to fall to pieces and I decided to treat myself to a new cleaner. I say treat but as I have very little funds for nice new hoovers I had to settle with what I could afford. I went along to my local Comet, where prices are said to be low all the year round. I looked at their aisle full of fancy and dare I say, quite sexy little numbers!! All colours. I could have coordinated my hoover with my whole house if Id wished!! Unfortunately sex appeal costs and I was left with the choice of one hoover - The Dirt Devil DD6114 Upright Vacuum Cleaner. DD6114 is classic Dirt Devil colour, bright red with black attachments. It is a pretty basic cleaner with hose attachment and upholstery brushes...
