Dirt Devil Hoover

Advantages: extremely light and easy to use
Disadvantages: you need to remove hair from hoover accessories

...need to pull a heavy hoover around. I would most definitely recommend this item and buy more dirt devils in the future!...

aquamark handheld steam cleaner

Advantages: low price,easy to store
Disadvantages: not powerful enough

...I purchased an aquamark handheld steam cleaner because I primarily wanted to clean my filthy stainless steel cookertop and my oven,I also thought that it would be useful to help me tackle a lot of other household chores. I opted for the handheld version because they are a lot cheaper that the larger models and I dont have an awful lot of storage space. The product comes with a number of different attachments for different types of job. There is a large hollow brush for upholstery, two smaller brushes labelled a and b to use for stubborn stains on for example work surfaces and bathroom surfaces..the labelling allows you to have a separate brush for these two rooms and is more hygienic. A small "sockette" made from elasticated towelling is provided and this slips over a triangular shaped head and is desingned for use on delicate areas ie...

Excellent value for money

Advantages: Cheap, small, handy & easy to use
Disadvantages: Only for small jobs - 10 -15 minutes or so

...I chose this particular product initially because it looked small and easy to use. I really don't have the space or the need to purchase a larger semi-industrial cleaner so coupled with the fact that I had Argos vouchers to spend - this seemed a reasonable choice. It was the cheapest small steam cleaner by far and I was quite ready to be dissapointed by my choice the first time I used it but I have to admit that it does a sterling job and I am VERY pleased. The lead is longer than expected, making it easier to work on a full room or outside on your car. So far I have cleaned spots off the carpets, cleaned tiles, doors, paintwork, windows a leather suite and spots off a pair of suede shoes! Armed with a clean cloth all you have to do is wipe. No detergents, no abrasives - just clean water and a cloth. The appliance is so...

STEAM AWAY THE DIRT

Advantages: COMPACT AND EASY TO USE
Disadvantages: NONE

...I RECENTLY PURCHASED ONE OF THESE JML STEAM CLEANERS FOR THE VERY REASONABLE PRICE OF £29.99 I ORDERED MINE FROM THE INTERNET, BUT NOW THEY ARE AVAILABLE IN SHOPS (I HAVE SEEN THEM IN ROBERT DYAS, WOOLWORTHS AND HOMEBASE SO FAR) IT IS ABOUT 18 INCHES TALL, AND IS A BRIGHTISH BLUE COLOUR. IT HAS A SCREWABLE TOP WHERE YOU PUT THE WATER IN, AND IT COMES WITH A FUNNEL AND MEASURING JUG. YOU PUT IN TWO JUGS OF WATER, SWITCH IT ON AND WAIT FOR APPROX 5 MINUTES.THERE IS AN ORANGE LIGHT ON THE SIDE WHICH ILLUMINATES, AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN IT IS READY TO USE. YOU GET SEVERAL ATTACHMENTS WITH THE CLEANER: A SMALL BRUSH WHICH IS SUITABLE FOR SCRUBBING AND CLEANING GROUTING, HUB CAPS ETC. THIS IS ALSO GOOD FOR OVEN INTERIORS - SIMPLY BLAST THE STEAM IN TO THE OVEN, AND WIPE AWAY THE DIRT AND GRIME WITH A CLEAN CLOTH OR KITCHEN ROLL...

I' M ALL STEAMED UP!!

Advantages: NO CHEMICALS USED TO CLEAN
Disadvantages: NONE AT ALL

...” Lervia “Hand Held Steam Cleaner. For the technically minded it is 900 WATT and 3 BAR pressure It is a blue and black body about 9 inches high it is all wee ridges to keep the outside cool. On the top there is a screw top which is made of brass and covered in black heat resisting plastic You hold it as you would a teapot as it has a long curved handle. There is a steam push button on the top. You just give it a wee press every time you want some steam There are three different nozzles .A long one which can go in all different directions as to make it easier to get into awkward places. There is a wee bent one as well which you can use to direct a really strong jet with for closer cleaning There is a third brush it’s small and round with bristles, which is great for stubborn marks and dirt like cooker...

A mean steam clean

Advantages: Effective and environmentally friendly
Disadvantages: Expensive

...I bought my Polti steam cleaner around two years ago, then priced at £299, including the iron attachment and can honestly say it was worth every penny. It looks rather like a large red cylinder vacuum cleaner, with a long electric lead and vacuum cleaner like attachments. On first unpacking everything, it may seem a little daunting at first. There is, however, an excellent instruction book and very useful video to help. These explain just how the Polti uses the power of steam, without any chemicals or cleansers, to remove dirt from almost anywhere in your home. There are several benefits here- Steam is more environmentally friendly than chemical cleansers and their packaging. Bacteria is effectively destroyed by the high temperature used. Long-term cost effectiveness can be achieved because of the true multi purpose nature...

Dirt Devil MVP Swivel Glide Vacuum

Advantages: Brought up dirt I didn't know I had.
Disadvantages: Harder to push than I thought.

...We moved to America around 15 years ago with only 2 suitcases, and shipped 3 tea chests. These were personal items, and arrived 3 months later. We bought a Eureka upright vacuum and it was still going strong 9 months ago. We had seen on television and in the newspapers, bagless vacuum cleaners with hepa filters. We decided that when they came below $200 (£130) we would purchase one. We love to go to "Sams Club", part of the Wal-mart chain, and they had a great offer on. Dirt Devil MVP swivel glide Vacuum M086420 for $179 (£115). The best part of this deal included a free Dirt Devil corded hand vac worth $39 (£25). We jumped with delight and purchased it immediately. My husband loves to hoover. My friends laugh when I say this, as it is a brand name, they say vacuuming. He tried it out. We have 1,700 square feet of area. He...

Steam Through Your Cleaning Schedule!

Advantages: Cleans better than you couls imagine
Disadvantages: Bit heavy

...It was earlier this year that, about March time and I was getting really fed up with the state of my house, it was not dirty but some things I could not do anything with, for example the limescale on the shower cubical, no matter how much I scrubbed it i still could not get it off, I was not going to be beaten by this, so I bought a hand held JML Steam Cleaner. THE STEAMER I chose the hand held JML which cost me just under £50. With this particular Steamer you get a range of interchangeable tools these are, a rubber nozzle, 2 small round brushes and a big triangular shaped brush, I believe that you can buy other attachments separately. You also get a cleaning sachet; this is used to clean the nozzle if it gets blocked. This Steam Cleaner looks much the same as other hand held steam cleaners, looks a bit like a big kettle. It...

Red Devil Cleaner

Advantages: Cost and efficiency
Disadvantages: A little lumbering, filters a pain to clean

...I have had this cleaner now over 9 months and now having just had to empty it yet again, it has moved me to comment!! The cleaner itself works fine, it has a business like head and apparent flexibility. However the size of the head prevents getting into awkward corners and tight spaces, it could easily be more compact. That said the suction power and head configuration is effective in picking up household dust and dirt. It is a little lumbering to trail behind you, preferring straight lines to the reality of dodging around furniture. However its the bagless aspect which is most frustrating. Whilst a dirt trap and a filter may seem appealing (and even spare filters are supplied with the cleaner), the removal and clean up of same is a work up in itself. The pictures show just rinsing said filter under the tap. In your dreams...

Something to get steamed up about

Advantages: No need for chemicals or detergents
Disadvantages: Flimsy construction

...My first introduction to the Polti Vaparetto was at Downtown Superstore, Grantham. Lincs. I was having a browse around and came across a demonstration of this steam cleaner. This machine cleaned everything imaginable and it was all done by steam with no addition of detergents and chemicals , thus sterilising as you go. When the lady demonstrator got to the ironing part she was suddenly enveloped in clouds of billowing steam and when it came to ironing shirts, she just hung them on a hanger and pointed the iron at them and, viola, creases dropped out as if by magic. I am a demonstrator's dream as I only have to look and I see, I lust, I crave and if cash permits, I buy. As this machine cost £349.99, I didn't have enough loose change in my pocket (OK, truth be told, I didn't even have it in my bank account) buying it...
