Discover a magical world with your child
Advantages: Bright, colourful, encourages creativity, cheap entrance prices, lots of activities
Disadvantages: Not in the nicest area, can be busy/messy at half term
...Looking for something to appeal to young children in London can be a bewildering experience, especially during half term as there is so much to choose from. Having a few days to spend at my mother's house in Greenwich we were eager to find something to entertain our two and a half year old but without resorting to the dreaded soft play. We decided to try out Discover in Stratford on the basis of a positive recommendation on a parenting site and a quick glance at their website. I now think this place deserves another positive recommendation from us!
***What is it?***
A 'hands on, interactive story trail' designed to encourage children to develop their imagination and creativity, especially related to reading and writing. It was set up as a charity to help and encourage children in deprived areas, but everyone is welcome. It is aimed...

Get Set to Discover
Advantages: Really relaxing
Disadvantages: little bit messy
...I received Get Set Discovering Mosaics as a christmas present and as i love to make a mess and try new arts and crafts it is perfect.
Basically what you have to do is make your own mosaic tiles then glue and grout them onto various objects that you get in the kit.
It is for children aged 8 years and over(im safe then)and adult supervission is required.
Everything in the kit has been tested to the safety standed and has passed(good job). You must make sure that the activity area is free from any obsticales and away from food.Make sure the area is well lit and ventillated.keep all animals and babies away from the area too.
This is what you get in the kit:
Goblet top and bottom,(plastic)
Casket case and lid,(plastic)
Mirror frame,(plastic)
Rub-down transfers,
1 pot of pva glue,
Glue brush,
Stick on gems,
Spoon...

Magic - I can't believe I only discovered it now!
Advantages: Incredible coverage, long-lasting, really works
Disadvantages: On first application it smells a bit funny but when the air gets to it its fine
...I suffer from some hyper-pigmentation on my face and was beginning to dispair. There didn't seem to be any make up on the market that would help, any products I got that were specifically for covering up hyper-pigmentation were expensive and didn't seem to work at all. Most were like stage make up - thick and made me look like I'd caked my face in foundation. One of my friends who swears by touche Eclat for covering bags under her eyes recommended it to me and I haven't looked back since. It's really miraculous. It blends in easily, reflects the light so any dark areas instantly appear lighter and can be used in other areas too - bags, scars, red marks. The packaging format makes it easy and subtle to take to the bathroom for touch ups too. I can't imagine how I survived without it and am amazed I've only just discovered it. I would...

Discover Narnia
Advantages: A Truly Wonderful Movie
Disadvantages: Would Have Liked More Special Features
...This is the magical film adaptation of the third of C.S Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia series.
The story follows a family of four children, Peter [William Moseley], Susan [Anna Popplewell], Edmund [Skandar Keynes] and Lucy [Georgie Henley], as they are evacuated from their home during war time.
They go to live with Professor Kirke [Jim Broadbent] in his country house. However, once there, Lucy discovers that a room containing nothing but a large, ornate wardrobe. The wardrobe is in fact a doorway into the magical world of Narnia.
Once in Narnia, Lucy meets a faun by the name of Mr Tumnus [James McAvoy] and hears of the evil White Witch [Tilda Swinton] who rules Narnia, and makes it always winter there, but never Christmas.
The tale continues, throwing all four children into danger, and uncovering what they are destined to...

Introduction:
There aren't many vocalists that can switch from a hardcore gut curdling scream to a softer popier style at the drop of a hat, but the band Silverstein are blessed with frontman Shane Told's versatility. This is the second effort from the canadian based screamo / punk band, and in my opinion this album is ten times better than their earlier album "When Broken Is Easily Fixed".
Silverstein are one of the many punk / emo bands on the Victory Records Label one of the most famous being Taking Back Sunday.
In this album Silverstein have managed to find...

Discover for yourself!
Advantages: see review

...I love to discover places that are free to visit and the Discovery museum in Newcastle is one of the best I have found.
How to get there.
*********************
The discovery museum is situated in Blandford Square a 5-minute walk from Newcastle central station. There are also buses from many areas that stop outside the station. From the station the museum is well sign posted.
If you want to drive then the museum is just off the A 6082. From Redheugh bridge head towards St James Boulevard. Parking is limited outside the museum and costs 40p per hour. Alternatively there is parking at the Times Square car park a 5-minute walk away.
What's on offer?
*****************
The building is very impressive. Once inside there is a welcoming reception desk with maps and information about the museum. The museum feels light and spacious...

Discover Jill - and Yourself
Advantages: Interesting and unique, superb writing and characters
Disadvantages: Not for you if you prefer plot to character-driven stories
...Philip Larkin is best-known for his poetry, although he wrote two novels: A Girl In Winter and Jill, both written in his mid-twenties. He was an interesting character, said to be obsessed with pornography and racist, although Martin Amis (Larkin was a close friend of Kingsley Amis) denies this. I was surprised to discover that Larkin was also a Jazz critic and a great fan of Thomas Hardy's poetry, and was instrumental in the re-evaluation of Hardy's poetry, which tends to be ignored in favour of his novels - despite Hardy seeing himself as a poet foremost, an author second. His being a fellow fan of Hardy, I softened to him slightly?
I studied The Whitsun Weddings (Larkin's most famous collection of poetry) at college and, although I could appreciate their superb structure and sharp insights, he was never going to be my favourite...

Discover Yourself Today.
Advantages: Jackson, dialogue, gets you thinking.
Disadvantages: Willis is a little below-par, meandering pace.
...for comfort throughout his childhood, leads to his questioning of both himself and David. What we discover is that there's far more than meets the eye with regard to Elijah, he's not all he seems, and that's something that becomes all to apparent in Mr Shyamalan's now trademark twist; but of course, I'm not one for ruining things.
On the other hand, Willis turns in a relatively sub-par performance throughout; looking remarkably blank in expression for nigh-on the entirety of the film. I suppose one could say, that as the seemingly 'unofficial' sequel to the Sixth Sense (ah c'mon, the similarities are all to obvious), that Willis himself is reading from the same script, failing to do anything wide of the mark. In terms of a support cast, Robin Wright Penn is well cast as Audrey, David's long term partner, who has to watch his transition from...

Discover the power of light!
Advantages: Light, non-oily, non-greasy, good coverage, stays on perfectly
Disadvantages: None
...This is one of my ultimate favourites. It was love at first sight and I know I am going to be loyal and faithful to this foundation for years.
My friend recommended it to me during my painful search for a perfect foundation. I needed something light, suitable for combination skin, good coverage, "special effects" and of course, bearable price.
And one day, what a beautiful day of beautiful things, I discovered True Radiance Foundation.
Priced £21.00 for a 30ml bottle it's available in Debenhams, Boots, Lloyds Pharmacy and other shops. Mine is from Lloyds Pharmacy.
Ingredients: Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclomethicome, Glycerine, Isononyl, Isononanoate, Bis-peg/ppg-14/14 dime-ticone, propylene glycol, sodium chloride, cetyl dimethicone, vinyl dimethicone / methicone silsesquiglycol, distearimonium hectorite, peg/ppg-20...
