Environmentally Friendly Dishwasher tablets

Advantages: Works as well as leading brands, cheaper

I'm a bit of a spend thrift so was looking through the Sainsbury's aisles for some cheap dishwasher tablets. I had run out and didn't want to buy a lot of tablets until I was able to go and buy some tablets at wholesale prices. I noticed this at the top of the shelf because it was on offer. 25 tablets for £1.99, saving a 1/3 off the normal price. Fairy dishwasher tablets?

Advantages: comes in tablet form
Disadvantages: doesn't seem to do the job

...I have to confess to have always used finish products but my boyfriend always out for a bargain saw the Fairy Tablets had a special offer on in Macro - BOGOF - need I say more. First of all I should say that the Dishwasher we have was inherited with the house and we believe it is probably about 10 years old. I have cleaned the filters, topped up the salt and rinse aid etc so could not put the poor performance down to that. In the Fairy box were a few of the finish tablets that were left. I was open minded about using these products - as they say nothing ventured nothing gained. I had chucked the dishes in the machine in my usual haphazard fashion and then placed the tablet in the dispenser as I had on previous occasions. I was surprised that there was not the equivelent of the the power ball feature in the Fairy tablets but...

...This is a review of Asda 5 in 1 Citrus dishwasher tablets. We have had our dishwasher for a few years now and have come to the conclusion that you get what you pay for where dishwasher tablets are concerned.We prefer the tablet form of detergent purely for ease of use and less mess than powder. We have tried a few budget ranges over the years but find that the tablets do not dissolve or the dishes, especially glasses are left with a film of residue when the wash is finished, and there were many occasions when our food tasted of detergent due to the plates not being cleaned properly. 3 in 1 Dishwasher Tablets

Advantages: cheap and convenient to use
Disadvantages: none

...We've been using these tablets for over 6 months now without any problems - they're great! They contain the powder, rinse aid and salt so save on buying seperate products. Convenience They are very easy to use. No fiddling with powder spillage or having to keep an eye on the level of rinse aid left in the dispenser. Also if you have an older dishwasher that does not have a salt indicator it saves having to keep an eye on that also. If you do big shopping trips (2 weekly or monthly) then it's easy to see exactly how many tablets are left. Cost The cost for a 25 pack is £1.98 which works out at approx 8p per wash. Asda also do a pack of 50 but every time we're in there they have always run out. Overall there is only about 1p difference per tablet between these box quantities. I haven't been able to compare...

Ariel Tablets

Advantages: Clean fresh smell, good value
Disadvantages: Awkward box, price as part of the grocery shop in a supermarket.

I like to use one that smells nice, and that is my main concern. There?s a couple I can?t use as they seem to irritate me like mad, Persil Non-Bio is a no-go, as is Daz and Fairy. Review of Ariel Washing Tablets

Rennie Spearmint Tablets. Yummy and effective.

Advantages: Good taste, works, cheap.
Disadvantages: chalky,crumbly.

...Rennie tablets The Rennie brand is seemingly one of the most recognisible in it's category. They are taken for indigestion and heartburn but are also supposed to relieve wind problems and problems with digestion in pregnancy. This particular product is the spearmint flavour which is part of a whole spectrum of Rennie products including 'Rennie Ice' and 'Rennie fruit'. Indigestion and Heartburn..what is this? As I didn't know really what indigestion was I thought I'd tell you what I learnt about it! Incase anyone reading this is unsure of whether they need to consider this product or not. It is casued by a build up of too much acid in your stomach and means that generally a pain is felt in the stomach or just behind your rib cage. Review of Rennie Spearmint Tablets

Non-Bio Tablets!

Advantages: Only needed to use one for an almost full load (not soiled), great scent, good price.
Disadvantages: A little expensive when not on offer so stock up when they are!

...As I am at my sisters at the moment when I need to wash my clothes I just use whatever she has brought on her last shopping trip. This week it was Persil Non Bio Tablets. The tablets come in a cardboard box with a perforated tab which you can pull to open and then inside the box the tablets are wrapped in twos. I used one tablet for my wash as it was not particularly dirty or soiled and I put the tablet inside the wash bag (I'm not sure if this was provided with the tablets as I found it on top of the washing machine). I then pulled the drawstring and threw it in to the drum along with my clothes. I washed my clothes on a 40 degree wash which lasted around 90 minutes and when I took my clothes out they had a lovely smell to them which lasted for most of the day when wearing my favourite top. ...those who smoke may notice the signs and of course women who suffer heavy periods lose a lot of iron every month. It is extremely important that you speak to your doctor before you think about taking an iron supplement as sometimes it could be the first signs of something far worse. Symptoms of a deficiency are similar to those diagnosed with stomach ulcers. So speaking to your doctor first and determining the difference could potentially be life saving (In the worst case). Never just assume. --The tablet itself/what it contains-- The tablet with just iron in weighs at 15mg which is 7% over the RDA. Now I am a tablet fiend.
