...I knew from the outset that i would be one of those paranoid mum's constantly worrying about my baby & wondering if he was still breathing through the night, so I invested in the Angelcare monitor with movement sensor mat. The set includes a 'baby unit', 'parent unit' & movement sensor mat. The mat is placed under baby's mattress (if like mine, the base of the cot is slatted, or you're using it in such a moses basket, then you will need to place the mat on a firm surface such as a piece of plywood under the mattress), & is so sensitive that it can detect even the lightest of breathing. The mat connects to the baby unit which then transmits to the parent unit. If no movement (yes, even light breathing counts as movement) is detected for 20 seconds, an alarm sounds on both the baby & parent units, enabling time to get to your baby...

A Quality Monitor

Advantages: Many functions, clear sound, no interference, talk back
Disadvantages: Temp sensor maybe a bit sensitive

...We recently borrowed this monitor from a friend - it's on our wish list but we can't really afford to buy one, so we are trialling this one at the moment. Due to us borrowing it, we were never given an instruction manual, but have still managed to figure out most of the functions with success! Angel care baby monitor set my mind at rest!

Advantages: easy to use, flexible, gives peace of mind

...This product was a definite good purchase! I was quite overwhelmed with how much choice there was in the market as to which baby monitor to buy and I settled on this one as it sounded ideal. The product is a senor pad which detects tiny movements and will alarm after 20 seconds if there has been no movement so, for example, if your baby stopped breathing an alarm would go off after 20 seconds alerting you to this. The sensory pad is a flat square which you place underneath the cot mattress so it isn't bulky or uncomfortable for the baby to lie on. The pad is attached to the monitor which is really easy to use. Good cheap baby monitors (Tomy Walkabout Classic Advance Monitor)

Advantages: 100% portable, mains or battery powered, good solid units
Disadvantages: Can eat through batteries

...Recently the video baby monitors that I had been given (second hand) gave up the ghost so I had to purchase a new set. I decided that I didn't need a video one again or one with any other fancy gimmick on it (one that plays a melody etc), I wanted a nice basic and reasonable cheap monitor just so I could hear when she wakes up in a morning etc. After looking online at the hundreds of monitors available (most of which are very expensive) I found the Tomy Walkabout Classic Advance and after reading a couple of reviews I decided that this one should do the job just fine. Monitor Your Baby

...Baby Walkabout Advance from Tomy Living in a flat I felt I did not really need the most high tech and expensive of monitors and just needed one that really did the job. I was looking at all the ones available to buy on Amazon and this one sprang out at me. It was not the cheapest monitor going but it certainly was not the most expensive either. Monitors range from about £15 up to an astonishing £100 plus. The latest ones out on the market offer a television screen where you are actually able to see your baby as well as hear their sounds and monitor room temperature. I feel however the television screen is a little bit much and think I would find myself glued to the screen while all the time away from the baby. This particular baby monitor set me back only £29. I think this is a fair price for what you are getting...

Display of affection for this CD wall display

...I recently bought the CD Wall Tiles CD Display System for £19.99 from online retailer iwantoneofthose.com. It was well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. What is the product? The complete package contains 9 plastic wall tiles in white or black, depending on the colour you order, 24 clear plastic clips to clip the tiles together in the pattern you desire, 9 plastic wall hooks, 36 rubber grips for keeping the CDs in the tiles and sticky pads to stick the tiles to the wall. The tiles are hollow so that you can put your CDs in to make a unique wall display using your favourite albums, or just ones you own that match the colour scheme of your room. Quality of the product I think the product is good quality in terms of the way it looks in your room, however I feel that the tiles themselves are somewhat flimsy...

Excellent monitor

Advantages: great clear picture
Disadvantages: bulky parents unit, interferes with wifi

...This is am excellent baby video monitor with a very clear picture, especially the night picture which works perfectly well even when the baby's room is completely dark. A good feature is that you can turn off the display screen (say when sleeping yourself) but turn it on again just by touching the top. The only drawback is that the parent unit is quite bulky. It is portable though, but not small enough to carry about with you as you do tasks, but easy enough to move from room to room. It's also worth noting that any wireless equipment you use in your home may affect the signal, though the manufacturer does say that you can contact your wireless internet provider for different settings. A fantastic product for the price....

Review of Summer Infant Quiet Sounds Video Baby Monitor Large screen

BT Baby Monitor Plus is the ideal monitor for all stages

Advantages: Nightlights, music, talk option, varied volume, clear sound
Disadvantages: Long initial charge time, loud unlinked alarm can not be turned off or down

...We purchased this digital monitor after originally buying a radio set and the difference in quality was obvious. Although my sister had used these I had not bought them at first due to the cost (just under £70 when purchased) but realised at once that we had actually wasted the money spent on the cheaper monitors and should have bought these outright. The only issue we had with these occurs right at the beginning. You have to charge the parent unit for a very long time (16 hours if I remember correctly) and during this time it is not linked to the baby unit. Whilst unlinked the parent unit bleeps to warn you that it is not receiving from the baby unit and this warning is so loud that we could hear it even from the garage. Sadly ours only got about 11 hours as it was too loud and was causing problems when it came to our son's bed time...
