...When is a hotel not a hotel? When it's an apartment, of course! A normal hotel room is more than adequate for a couple, however, when travelling with another couple, you have a choice (particularly when travelling to Spain or Portugal, it seems) between renting two double or twin rooms in a hotel, or sharing a two bedroom holiday apartment. In September, my husband and I visited Portugal (near Lisbon) with another couple, and chose therefore to stay in a two bedroom apartment at the Clube do Lago in Monte Estoril (near Caiscais, about a half hour cab or train ride from Lisbon). We were there six days and five nights.
As the holiday had been booked through a travel agent, we were met at the airport by a driver, and driven the 40 minutes or so from the airport to the hotel. One of the first things you notice is the cobbled semi...
Advantages: Great value craft magazine Disadvantages: Available through 'do crafts' stockists
...?do crafts? Creativity is a glossy craft magazine produced by the company ?do crafts? and sold by stockists of their products. For the most part it is aimed at the card-making and scrap-booking markets which are so popular at the moment, but this month they have also included some jewellery making as well.
Inside you will find information about new products and suggestions on how they can be used for the best effect. As with most craft magazines there are many card and scrapbook designs complete with step-by-step instructions ? rubber-stamping, embossing, decoupage, quilling and beadwork - but plenty more besides.
For instance there are ?give away? pages; the current magazine has over £900?s worth including: Rubber Stamps, Papermania Embellishment Sets, Die-cut shapes and Outline Stickers, Embossing Powders and Paper...

...Simon and Schuster's effort was to produce distinctive, yet affordable and sturdy books for children with quality stories and engaging drawings. This they did, with many of the stories going on to become children's classics and available still today in the little board bound books with the gold foil binding. Initially hired as an artist for other's works, in 1963 he sealed his iconic status with his own Golden Book, The Best Word Book Ever. It proved immensely popular and paved the way for many other books, including 1968's most famous entry, What do People do All Day?
A very private person, not much more is really known about Richard Scarry, other than by his works. He was quite prolific, having completed over 300 works, and was married to children's writer and fellow Golden Book author Patricia and they have a son, Richard Scarry Jr...

...We have just returned from a Week-end in Porto.
We were looking for a Hotel that had good location and some olde world charm, so this one seemed to tick the boxes.
We booked it thru Octopustravel.com for £165 that being for a Double Room with Buffet Breakfast for three nights (About £27 per person per night B&B).
Getting to the Hotel from the Airport can not be easier. You get the Metro from the Airport, you can not get on the wrong one as that is the start of the line, no changes necessary just stay on unti the BOLHAO stop (approx 25 mins) cost 1 Euro 85 Cents (purchase ticket from Tourist Info Booth in arrival hall, or if braver from the Ticket Machines in the Metro (Do have an English Button) for instructions.
At the Bolhao stop come up into the Street Opposite a large Church With Blue Tiles, turn corner about 90 yards...
...Going on a date can be nerve racking, and some of us who have had very little dating experience don?t know how to act on a date, so here?s a few tips on how to make your date as successful as possible:
1. Don?t talk about your ex?s.
If you do don?t talk about them in a really negative way, because your date will be really turned off, they will just presume if you starting going out when you split up you?d be talking bad of them to other people just like you are talking bad about your ex to them.
If you do happen to mention your ex don?t get into a lot of detail of what happened.
2.Don?t arrange a date if you have no money!
Never arrange a date if you don?t have enough money especially if you?re a guy, on the first date I advice you pay for your date if you?re a guy, and don?t go somewhere too fancy especially if you can?t afford it...
...and life and also, Christians and Muslims may feel as if we are putting the animal though pain and cruelty. Also, Muslims and Christians think that it is wrong to mistreat animals for pleasure, to Muslims this is forbidden.
"Oh lord, that person killed me for nothing. He did not kill me for any useful purpose" ~ Hadith.
I think that Zoo's do more GOOD than harm. As long as the animal is well looked after and not being harmed Zoo's do a good job. They are giving animals love, attention and a place to live and humans a chance to see animals they have never seen before. On the other hand, I do not entirely agree with circuses as the animal is being made to do tasks and perform. Also, the conditions aren't as good as those in the wild, or even in a Zoo.
Should Animals have rights?
Rights are entiltments protected law. Many animals...
Advantages: Lots of bangers Disadvantages: Nothing specific
...The Southampton R&B singer Craig David debuted with his album ?Born To Do It? in 2000, shortly after his time spent collaborating with the 2-Step Garage group Artful Dodger, and so although this has him doing contemporary R&B work, it also features him on up-tempo beats which fit in with the urban raving movement of Garage at this time (the peak of its success).
1. ?Fill Me In?
The album fittingly begins with what was his debut solo single, and since everyone knew him most for ?Rewind?, which features as a bonus at the end of the album, he has things begin in a similar sort of fashion with a 2-Step song on top of beats from Artful Dodger as he sings about how he and his girl get up to the nasty as his partner?s parents go out.
**Five Stars**
2. ?Can?t Be Messing Around?
To me, Artful Dodger?s way of constructing the beats always...
Advantages: A humorous text, part of a popular series of books for children. Disadvantages: May not appeal to boys and some may think that Daisy is a bit too cheeky!!
...This is a really popular series of books with the 4 - 5 year old girls I teach and even the boys can appreciate the humour in the illustrations, though I would hate to have a Daisy in my house, too much back-chat!!
~ Daisy Books ~
Daisy is a little girl whose naughtiness and cheekiness, really appeals to the children in my class.
She's a bit of a tomboy and doesn't do dresses etc which is great as she goes a little way to against stereotypes.
There are quite a few books in the series, some of which I have listed below:
* Really, Really
* Eat Your Peas
* If I was Boss
* A Bunch of Daisies
* Yuk!
* 006 and a Bit
~ The Story ~
It is all about Daisy's Mum telling her not to do certain things, e.g.
"Don't pick your nose."
"Don't slurp your soup."
"Don't leave your clothes on the floor."
"Don't talk with your mouth...
Advantages: Unique sounding in parts Disadvantages: Some tracks have varied influences that don't sit well together
...I first bought this album following a couple of reviews that has compared Do Me Bad Things to the Scissor Sisters. The album came home, went in the stereo for a couple of plays and was relegated to the CD rack while I returned to playing the Scissor Sisters album. As far as I could hear, the comparisons were unearned. It was only later I realised that it was only a comparison of style, with the 9 piece band from Croydon only sharing the Scissor Sisters flamboyance, rather than their musical influences.
However, just recently looking for something to put on the stereo, the album came back from the shelf. This time, I was hooked straight away and the album has been on constant play ever since. I suspect that because I'm not looking for something akin to the Scissor Sisters to play, I've been more open minded to "Yes!" and was able to...
Advantages: If there is then yes Disadvantages: We will have to wait and see
....
For the Mayans they believed in heaven which had 13 different layers each with its own god. They also believed in the underworld, I suppose we would call the hell, which also had layers but only 9. The underworld was a cold and unhappy place and believed to be the destination of most Mayans after their death. They also believed that at the end of every day the Sun had to pass through the underworld every night in order to shine again the next day.
Not much is known about the Mayan religion and what we do know is very confusing with many gods and some with more than one sex. Gods also had more than one face, one heavenly and one for the Underworld.
In the Mayan society they believed that when you died you entered the Underworld through a cave except if you where a King, then you followed the path that the sun took and because the sun...
