Advantages: Line out, s-video out, charge, sync, stand, remote control.
Disadvantages: Expensive for what it is.

...First of all, i purchased this when buying my 30GB black, a couple of things made me like this docking station, i prefer plugging it into my surround sound system so i this is why i went for it has a 3.5mm line out. Then, i could watch my music videos, using the 'S-VIDEO' out on the back of the dock. And i can charge/sync my ipod using the apple socket at the back. Only problem i found was, if you want to control your ipod remotely you have to purchase the apple remote. Which is another £20 in the shops, what i would reccommend which is what i did, was purchase a apple remote of ebay, obviously you might not be as lucky as me, but i managed to get one for £11 inc delivery off there. Also a good stand for it to sit there and look pretty :) and it comes with all the adapters to fit all ipods....

Ipod Universal Dock, Dock Em In!

Advantages: Universal for all ipods, Compatible with remote, Has Lots Of Connections
Disadvantages: Need to purchase wires and remote separately

...I bought this dock about 4 months ago and I have been using it on a daily basis every since, I got this dock so that I could play my music through speakers (without unplugging headphones) and use the remote so I don?t have to move to change the song and FF,RW etc (lazy). I have been using this dock for around 4 months on a daily basis and I think that the dock is wicked, I have had no problems with the dock and it has made my music listening much more enjoyable because I can use the remote to control the Ipod (Remote Purchased Separately). And I don?t have to remove the headphones to use the speakers as the dock has a 3.5 audio jack built in, and I can use the dock for data transfer with my pc as well as charging through the mains (cables have to be bought separately too). And scene as though I have the video Ipod I can use the docks...

Advantages: Superb Sound, Very Loud, Ideal for Ipods

...Bose SoundDock Digital Music System I happened to get this as a gift and it turned out to be quiet interesting Summary: This dock is used mainly for ipod and allows you to connet mp3 players to it and listen to high quality music via speakers. It is idle for homes and small gatherings, although I would not run a party off these. Pros: This system has terrific sound and can go very load despite its relative small size. As with almost all Bose speakers the quality is amazing, so long as the source you are playing it from is high quality it will allow the speakers to each its potential. I have a surround sound Bose set up in one of my rooms but now prefer to use this product as it is very simple to operate. Just plug the mp3 player in and press play and your set. Can't get much simpler. It also runs off a wall...

...their ipod's batteries are fading quicker may be down to this, but this certainly isn't proven- just be aware that it is always charging your ipod, even when the ipod is off and the iStation is turned off too (but plugged in at the mains)! Value for money: I'm sure if you are prerpared to spend more there are plenty of much better quality sounding equipment to use with your ipod (or mp3 player) but I wasn't prepared to pay much and for £50- when i bought it- i feel this is brilliant value for money and I've had no faults with it, it has worked perfectly.!...

Advantages: easy to install and understand, very cheap, good features very small and portable
Disadvantages: No headphone jack, space slightly cramped with buttons, requires seperate sound card for cueing

...I bought this unit in November this year. There are two models, the original sound dock which I think is about £199 and the second generation one (the one I bought) which was £279 from John Lewis. The second generation one is basically the same as the first except: a) it has a rechargeable battery b) it has a swing out dock c) it has an auxiliary (3.5mm) jack input If you just want a basic model, then go for the first gen one. I got the second gen one because I thought the battery was a useful addition as is the auxiliary 3.5mm input - I have mine connected to an apple airport express that streams itunes from my laptop to my bedroom although I have used it in a friends house with my ipod too. Philips SJM3151 multi function remote + Ipod dock

Advantages: Seamless integration, easy setup, no more CD changes!
Disadvantages: Slightly slow Ipod browse function - minor issue at best.

...the Sky + box, but it took me all of about 10 minutes to manually configure this with the aid of the original Sky + remote. All in all, I'm REALLY pleased with this. It does exactly what it says on the tin. I would have given a 5 star rating but for Philips appalling pre-sales customer service. Take note Philips and pull your socks up! Hope this helps anyone else who, like I was, is desperately searching for more info about this remote dock....

Can't say enough good things about the Bose SoundDock

Advantages: size, ease of use, sound quality
Disadvantages: can't connect to a computer, price

...figure out what they do. It also charges your iPod while it's docked, so there's no worry about it running out of battery while using the SoundDock. I think the best thing I could say about this, is that two people, after having listened to my SoundDock have literally rushed out and bought their own. I've had this almost a year now and my overall conclusion is this...it's small, it's pretty and it sounds bloody brilliant....
