...***** Crufts *****
It was only a matter of time before I commented on the "World's Greatest Dog Show" and here it is.
Indeed, it does exactly what it says on the tin - dog's and people from around the world, it's the greatest as there's no substitute for the luxurious green carpet, it has dogs and it's a show. Well, that's it then. Review finished.
Actually, I think not.
It's incomprehensible how much is crammed into the NEC in the four days that Crufts runs. Having been last year, mother and I decided that this would be our holiday this year - we're not the saddest people in the world - it's just not that cheap, especially with the overpriced bacon-baps and necessary dog toys, treats, blankets, collars, piccies - all for the girls that are a compulsory purchase! Unfortunately, because the NEC is in Birmingham and not...

Review of Crufts Dog Show
Advantages: Small, happy and adaptable Disadvantages: They need regular brushing
...It is fun having a new puppy and if only I had a pound for every time people have asked me what breed my new puppy is I would be a rich woman. In fact when I answer, as I sometimes do, that he is a Powderpuff I get some very strange responses indeed.
So to wind back the clock a bit I have always loved dogs, years ago I used to breed and show Great Danes but I gave that up when I got divorced and got the 'pensioners' to live with me and my ex had the breeding animals. Not that I am complaining, I adored my pensioners and in any event as I had to work full time at that point it was kinder to let them live out their lives and when they died I thought it wasn't fair to have another dog. In order to satisfy my love of animals I got a cat and for the last 20+ years life has been simple, just me and the cats to worry about...

Review of Chinese Crested Dog
Advantages: great story and illustrations Disadvantages: none!
...My three year old recently received this delightful book in her BookStart pack which all three year olds get and it is fast becoming one of her favourites. We already own quite a few Jez Alborough books so we were very happy to add this to our collection.
The main character in this story is an adorable little dog called Sid. Something amazing happens to Sid when he is on his way to school one day because he starts to fly! It's a fantastic experience and he can't quite believe it. Unfortunately when he gets to school no one else believes him either. Sadly, when he tries to fly again he finds that, with everyone watching, he cannot do it and goes home a very sad little puppy. It is sad that all the others think he is a liar and that they have laughed at Sid.
When he gets home he shares his problems with his dad who then lets him into...
Advantages: Reasonably priced, selection of flavours and good quality. Disadvantages: A little smelly!
...Review of Tesco Premium Supermeat Meaty Chunks dog food
The Product
A tinned dog food suitable for adult dogs.
Tesco own brand Premium Meaty Chunks dog food is a regular in my shopping trolley. Ever seeking a bargain, I switched my dog's diet from branded dog meats to this alternative around a year ago. The product comes in a plastic wrapped 6 can pack. Each can weighs in at 400g and the pack contains 2 cans each of chicken, beef and heart and lamb flavours. The cans are easy to open by means of a ring pull, so no messy tin openers to wash.
The meat is firm and evenly cubed within the thick jelly like gravy. As with many dog foods it does smell a little 'ripe', however to a dog I am sure the aroma is mouth watering!
My dog Sam, an adult border collie cross, is not a fussy eater, he will eat more or less whatever I choose to...
Advantages: Fun family Disney film Disadvantages: Nothing special
...Snow Dogs is one of those cheesy Disney family movies that you can't help liking. It was released in 2002 and stars Cuba Gooding Jr, who had recently broken into the main casting scene on the big screen. The film is essentially a poignant comedy which features some clever special effects work and that traditional addition of classic Disney family movies: animals!
Dr Ted Brooks is a successful dentist who hates dogs. When he finds out he has inherited some property including a team of sled dogs, he dons his winter wear and heads to collect his new property and tries his best to fit into his new surroundings. He soon finds this hard as everyone judges him, and he must adapt to earn the respect of his new neighbours, some new enemies, and hardest of all: the dogs!
Cuba Gooding Jr gives a very cheesy performance as the black dentist...

Review of Snow Dogs (DVD)
...Ahh its cute this little wooden toy dog that is made by Brio has been around for many years 1945 saw the first one of these toys.
Let me describe this toy. Sampo dog stands on a red base. He stands 5 inches tall. Sampo is a shiny black dog with yellow feet these are fixed to the base. Sampo's legs are made of 2 beads each these are threaded together and to his feet with I think it's a strong string like thread His body is one black bead shaped a little to resemble a dog's body the legs are threaded onto the body. There are 3 black beads threaded to make the tail this is threaded into the body and out the head end, there is a black bead to represent the neck then a head shaped black bead this has two beady eyes and two red floppy ears. In total there are 19 parts to Sampo dog.
Now the base circle of the base moves if you press it...

Review of Brio Sampo the Dog
Advantages: cute, good for the Year of the Dog Disadvantages: retired, price not guaranteed
...Company:
I think every little kid had at least one TY beanie if they were a 90s child. Its something that we used to talk about at school all the time, meeting up at each others houses each weekend after we had just spend all of that week's pocket money on the latest editions. I had quite a large collection, with quite a lot of different animals. I had a good few dogs, one of which is called Dog.
Dog:
The name Dog is hardly anything to get excited about! You;d think TY could have came up with something a bit more original wouldn't you? But this name is understandable. For, Dog is not just any Dog, but he is a Zodiac Dog! Released in 2006, he represents all the Dogs out there. Personally I am a Monkey (zodiac, not real!) but I think this dog is adorable! He looks a little like a pug in my opinion, and has golden orange fur. He looks...

Review of Ty Zodiac Dog
Advantages: Great entertainment. Disadvantages: Maybe a tad gory for some peoples tastes.
...It’s not all that often I get to go to the pictures nowadays, but when I do I like to enjoy the film I have gone to see.
This does not always happen as some films can be really dire.
Anyway, I went to the Cineworld multiplex in Bradford on Monday night to see ‘Dog Soldiers’ and I definitely came out after the film had finished feeling mightily entertained.
So in the same vein as Ben (Peppersinclaire) I’m about to invade the horror film section, here is my review.
THE PLOT:
Without giving too much away, the film starts off with a young couple on a camping trip in the Scottish highlands.
While they are enjoying a loving canoodle, the guy starts to unzip his lovers trousers, only when he stops, the zipping noise does not.
Terrified, the young couple look at the entrance to the tent where the zip is...

Review of Dog Soldiers (DVD)
Advantages: there are no advantages to epilepsy apart from that fact it can be controlled to some extent Disadvantages: can kill dogs, extremely stressful for owner and dog
...In March this year, my two year old Border Collie Marley was diagnosed with Primary Epilepsy. When I first started encountering Marley's fits, I headed straight for the internet to try and find out as much information as possible about seizures in dogs. I was hit with lots of varying information and was unsure of what to believe as opinions differed so greatly. I am writing this review to share my experience of epilepsy and seizures in dogs, in the hope that it will help other people in the same position.
Marley's 1st seizure
On March 15th 2006, at 8pm, my boyfriend and I had been back from walking 6 dogs. I have 2 border collies, my Mum and Dad have three and my brother has one. The rest of my family were away on holiday so my boyfriend and I had the job of looking after all the dogs at my parent's house.

...are a Cheshire based company who sell premium cat and dog foods which contain real meat and fish and plenty of it. When you open the tin it smells wholesome and looks appealing - quite unlike the nondescript brown smelly mess you get in many brands these days.
The Applaws brand is a natural dog food which has been specially formulated to contain nothing more than the ingredients they list on the tin. They say it is a completely natural, gluten free complimentary dog food which does not contain any animal derivatives, by-products or cereal.
As it is a complimentary dog food you do need to provide supplements or mix it with a complete feed to ensure that your dog gets a balanced diet.
The Flavours available
