At last, a quality tinned dog food

Ever seeking a bargain, I switched my dog's diet from branded dog meats to this alternative around a year ago. The product comes in a plastic wrapped 6 can pack. Each can weighs in at 400g and the pack contains 2 cans each of chicken, beef and heart and lamb flavours. The cans are easy to open by means of a ring pull, so no messy tin openers to wash. Wow, a cheap, good dog food!

Advantages: Cheap, Hypo Allergenic, very good for your dog
Disadvantages: Don't sell dry food in Tescos!

...I had to write this review as I am sick of people buying Tesco value dog food or Pedigree Chum. Chappie is brilliant and cheap! It is £12 for a 15 kg sack and the tins are only 99p for the huge tins from the Supermarket. Unfortunately the supermarket I go to doesn't sell the huge bags of dry food so I have to go to the pet shop, but it is so cheap! I have a German Shepherd cross and he has a very sensitive stomach. I was feeding him Bakers Complete or Tesco value dog food until the vet told me off! He used to be so hypo as well because of the protein levels in the Bakers. The vet recommended Chappie to me. I can't believe they didn't recommend Science Hill like they normally do, but instead they let me into a little secret about Chappie. It's just as good as James Wellbeloved (believe me on this one) but its nearly 4 times as cheap...

Advantages: great for teeth, coat, health etc. No mess, no smell. Nicer poop!

...My old dog Freeway has always had tinned dog food with biscuit mixer. It was fine for her but when we got Bonnie as a Puppy three years ago we decided to try the less mess option! Having always hated the smell of wet dog food as well as the mess involved in serving it we decided to investigate the range of dry dog food available. We initially tried Bakers but the colourings sent an already lively puppy absolutely bonkers! The next attempt was with James Wellbeloved which Bonnie liked but it is expensive and isn?t widely available in supermarkets. Eventually we settled on Iams. Gourmet food for Dogs

At the moment it?s on offer at our local Co-op and the price is £9.99 for a 12 pack, I think this is a bargain as I don?t feed it him often and use it as a treat so that?s 12 treats for him when he comes to stay. I?m sure if you have a small dog then this would work out expensive to feed it them every day. The meat in the trays is in small chunks set in jellied gravy, so it?s easy for your dog to digest. However, some dogs have sensitive stomachs and this is quite a rich diet for a little dog and could cause them to have a tummy upset, or even worse they could have smelly farts for the rest of the day. ...What! Only 10 foods? Of all the MILLIONS/ BILLIONS of food products out there we can only pick 10? Well, I suppose you'd get bored by my 100th or so one..or tenth... In no particular order; let's begin 1. Fish -Smoked Haddock, Salmon, Cod, sea bass or tuna. Haddock is delcious in a pitta bread with scrambled egg or haselback potatoes. Salmon fillet is divine if you top it with mayo, crushed seasoned cornflakes with garlic and then drizzled with a cheese sauce. Smoked salmon slices mixed into mash with cheese spread! emm. And tuna, mix it with onion and some chutney to get fish fruity. Make your own fish pie or chop it up into an omelete. Fish is sooo nutritional, versatile and delcious. Not a fan of sardines, herring; trout and the lark, or with heads and eyes still on! Prawns - league of there own. Nice just out the pack...

A dog's review of dog food

...Who better to review dog food then me, the dog!!! Well, I ask you, what do you humans know about the taste of dog food? Of course no matter what you put down in front of us dogs, we will eat it, we eat anything from old chicken bones, mouldy pizza left overs, stale bread, cat food, bird food, mouldy cheese & old chip suppers left over in the street all night, lovely!! Problem is I have a skin complaint (eczema) & the vet told my owner that I have an allergy to meat, poultry & wheat. The vet told him that I would need to eat only lamb & rice, fish or fish & rice for each meal for the rest of my life!! He went on to say that dogs never get tired of eating the same food every day.
