...Arriving At Doha Airport When we arrived at Doha airport, we were taken by a shuttle bus to the main airport building. As you enter the airport, you will notice that there are two directions you can take which are well signposted. One path takes you to the main part of Doha airport and the second route takes you to any other connecting fights. Facilities There is a small food court in the departure lounge at Doha airport. Here you can choose from roll, sandwiches etc to the normal fast food such as burgers and chips. There is also a little shop which sells ice cream and drinks. The prices were very reasonable and no where near as expensive as we expected it to be. There was also a coffee shop. Review of Doha International Airport

Sheraton Doha is an amazing old style 5* hotel

Advantages: 5* service, excellent food, clean big rooms with seating areas
Disadvantages: None

...The service at this hotel was amazing. As soon as we got there, people took care of our luggage without even asking us. The food was amazing, they had everything on offer set up as a buffet, but with the most amazing food selection: you could choose anything for breakfast from eggs and cerial to sushi and salads, lunch was a selection of local specialities and western dishes and dinner was like you're dining at a really posh expensive restaurant. The selection of wines was also excellent, considering it's in Doha, which is quite a traditional place. The hotel has it's own beach with lounging chairs. I didn't get to see the gym (I was on holiday lol) but a friend said he was really surprised with the facilities. Apparently they had every concievable machine. Doha International - oh so small

Advantages: ??
Disadvantages: Hardly any shops in Duty Free... No photography allowed.

...Qatar (Doha International Airport is very small). The duty free gold inside is much more expensive than anything outside in the city and there are very few shops. There is no organised layout to the way people are taken to their flight and people may also get very mixed up with the flight boards changing irregularly and without notice. The toilets (men's) have holes in the floors downstairs but I think the upstairs toilets are better. While waiting for a flight, I also saw military aircraft flying over the airport quite often. Be aware that you are not allowed to photograph the airport or planes, for security reasons. I think they don't allow batteries because they had some kind of sign saying that they were not allowed just before the metal-detecor. Who knows? You are also *NOT* allowed to take crystal into the country along...

It's really just an open space......

Advantages: Very clean and open - nice view of the bay
Disadvantages: Not many facilities nearby

...I travelled to Thailand with work just over 1 year ago and we flew with Qatar airways. Because of the airline we flew with it meant a change of aircraft in Doha on both legs of the journey. On the way home the company I work for decided it would be a good idea for us to actually get the early flight out of Bangkok and then actually not fly onwards to the UK until the early hours of the next morning meaning that we would have nearly a whole 24 hours to spend in Doha itself. This was mainly done because Doha is still very much an up and coming holiday destination (even now still a year on) and this was a good way of getting us to experience a small part of the country considering we were going to be going through the airport anyway. Advantages: Close to city centre.
Disadvantages: too small to at busy times

...Doha Internatiol Airport is about 20minutes from the city centre,but then nothing in Doha is more than 30minutes from the centre. If you are hold a GCC pass port the imigration control is fast and efficient. If you are from anywhere else, particularly the Indian subcontinent then be prepared for a long wait! It gets even worse if they get more two flights arriving at the same time. Duty free is available at both arrivals and departures, but it is not really worth the bother as evertyhing in the supermarkets in Qatar is also 'duty free'. No alcohol available anywhere. Baggage reclaim is quick, but perhaps it only seems that way after waiting at immigration control. Be prepared for customs to confiscate any video tapes or DVDs, they will be checked by the censor and if they are deemed ok, you can collect them a few days later. Check...

Qatar Airlines - Cheap and Great

Advantages: Free shopping and stay in a hotel courtesy of the hotel

...Qatar Airways is a really fabulous airline up to and after some minor hick-ups. Whilst once travelling to Sri Lanka on Qatar Airways, I found that from the flight from London Heathrow to Doha Qatar, a lot of the backpackers travelling to Nepal were treated better than the people travelling to Sri Lanka. When arriving at Doha, people travelling on a flight to Colombo will be put up in a hotel in the city until their flight is ready to leave. This then allows you to explore the city of Doha. It is very dusty and there isn?t much to buy there apart from gold, gold and more CHEAP gold. On the flight from Doha to Colombo, you are treated exceptionally well and travel in a smaller aircraft than originally travelled in from London to Doha. I originally booked a flight to Delhi and back, one part of which Qatar Airways simply dropped a few days before I was due to fly out. They never contacted me about this as I only learned about it when I phoned their Gatwick number to enquire about an unrelated issue about the flights. As a replacement flight to the one they dropped (Doha to Gatwick), they put in place a flight that was supposed to fly out 11 hours later than the one originally scheduled. The result being that when I landed in Doha, I was denied a hotel room and had to contend with the dreadful food they give to passengers awaiting transfer in the Doha airport. Gets you from A to B, but no other customer care.

Advantages: Good leg room, Excellent entertainment facilities, Helpful and friendly Cabin Crew

...I recently flew economy class with Qatar Airways to Kathmandu, Nepal via Doha. The in-flight experience was very pleasant with welcoming and helpful staff, reasonable food and plenty of leg-room for comfort. Rather disappointingly, the administration behind the airline is inadequate. Our flight to Kathmandu from Doha was delayed by 3 hours, and no explanation was given despite repeated enquiries from many passengers, with passengers stuck inside and outside the departure lounge. Doha airport regularly displays the wrong boarding gate numbers, causing confusion to passengers all over the airport, and the experience is very stressful when trying to catch a tight connection. In my case, our delay at Doha caused one of our bags to go missing. Discussion with the Qatar office in Kathmandu was very frustrating, with no immediate response...

The worlds number one airline.

...I travelled on Qatar Airways 2 years ago, and it was unforgetable. I got a business class return trip to Kathmandu Nepal as a birthday present. I was very pleasantly surprised on the trip. I got excellent service from the word go. I had no trouble at check in. When I got on the Plane I took my seat in business class, which was mostly empty apart from two other people. The Crew were very nice to me, especially when they found out I spoke Arabic. The trip from London to Doha was very comfortable, with seats that extend to almost like a bed.
