Popcorn anyone

Advantages: Great TV, what more can I say.
Disadvantages: Not a 34 incher.

Not the most memorable name I agree, but a big Television Receiver Set indeed. My how proud I was when the nice engineer put the monster in our sitting room and almost evicted us to the dining room. Crash, Bang, Wallop (All In Dolby Digital)

Advantages: Great sound and picture
Disadvantages: The remote control unit is very complicated.

Another handy feature is that whatever type of sound output is on the DVD, the 580M will detect it with its built in decoder. DOLBY Surround sound, ALL DAY LONG...

Advantages: Great surround sound, Pleasing design, Complementary to Creative Speakers, Easy to use, cheaper option to replacing internal soundcard of laptops plus the bonus of having surround sound, wide range of inputs other than PC.

Dolby Digital Decoding is brilliant!!

Advantages: Looks great, sounds great, decodes dolby digital
Disadvantages: no remote, bass box not very powerful

...I bought the Creative Labs Desktop Theatre 2500 system with Dolby Digital 5.1 decoding because I wanted to watch DVD's on my PC, and listen in the original sound format, with the correct sound coming from the correct places (it is a 5 channel system: 4 corner speakers (for background noises), and a centre speaker for speech etc.). The speakers themselves look great: they are all black, and the kit comes with 5 speakers, two speaker stands and a bass box (which is not magnetically shielded). The sound quality is very good, although the bass box (which is not independently mains powered) could have been stronger. The cables for the rear speakers are 3 metres (I think) so if you want the speakers far from your decoder, you are going to have to buy more cable.
