Feeling a little Pete Murray

...Now this whole one man and his guitar thing is all good. I like it. The simplicity of it reaches out to me. Its not over complicated like so many things are in music now. Oh and it means I can sing along and pretend I'm really famous *ahem* Pete Murray is probably best known in Australia but will be known in the UK to anyone who watches a popular Ramsey Street based Soap as his songs are littered throughout it. The album flys up to this hemisphere at 41:16 long and throws a complete and utter mixxed bag of standard at us. TRACKS (11) FEELER (4:21) A title track of an album normally has to be good. A title track of an album that is also the opening track better be darn good. Now as normaly for a One Man and his Guitar type song, this has Pete singing over himself playing. However there is also a hint of an organ playing now...

...Bassetts Murray Mints are a lovely yet strange sweet. Bassetts have combined a minty buttery taste that strangely works very well. Now if you have never heard of these sweets - you should ask an elderly person as these sweets were very popular back in the 40's and 50's. They were first introduced into the market in 1944 and believe it or not they were the very first product to have a television ad jingle! Now here in Ireland these sweets are very popular and are always on the sweet stands in any shop. However I believe they are a rarity in the UK. I recommend if you see them in a shop - grab them. They are available in a 227g bag but they are also available in a roll. I would reccommend buying the roll because for some strange reason once you open the bag the outside of these sweets go soft. Im not sure why this happens as...

Murray Walker - The Pits.

Advantages: Good humoured, enthusiastic.
Disadvantages: Excitable, repetitive, incompetant, has become a caricature.

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. ...I really enjoy formula one racing but that enjoyment is being spoiled by Murray Walker. He used to be very good at his job but he is now a joke constantly being corrected. He is forever mixing up cars drivers and screaming down the mike false information. Time to call it a day Murray before you become more of a laughing stock than you already areIn handing over the reins to a younger and more capable man you will leave still with some cred and certainly made my enjoyment of Formula one more tolerable...

“Jazz etc” by John Murray

Advantages: very convincing style of writing
Disadvantages: sometimes contains too much information on one page

...fiction that makes you think that you might have missed out something. Make you coming back few pages to check for the previous information, all along provoking laughter as well. Murray has distinctive gift to give the ordinary information a glowing gloss. I don’t know how much an ordinary reader can see beyond his core taking a real interest with jazz itself and I’m not sure whether he wanted this. Murray has a wordplay that makes the book a breezy read. As a guide to the nature of “white” jazz, Murray's novel serves well than any book about history of music. I think that Murray is an extraordinary writer and that this book is beautifully written. Some parts are absurd, making you stop reading, but only in the next part you recognize British wit that makes you keep on just an other page, ending up with entire book read...

Murray delivers a delicious pint of comedy

Advantages: Hillarious, side splittingly funny at times
Disadvantages: Very similar to his previous shows

Review of Al Murray - Giving It In Both Barrels (DVD)

Murray Walker is GREAT

Advantages: Great voice, livens up the races
Disadvantages: Well, a tiny bit senile but who cares?

...Yes, Murray Walker is old. Yes, Murray Walker is senile AND yes Murray Walker mixes up cars but he is still undeniably the best sports commentator despite all these faults. His voice is that of a Ferrari V12 engine and the enthusiasm he puts into his job his fantastic. Martin Brundle is there to keep him in check and most of the time he does a great job and livens up the races immensely. He can also relate to hundred of other races which no other sports commentator can do. Without Murray, F1 would be dead. F1 is dying due to the boredom i.e Hungary - of most races for people who watch but aren't really enthusiasts. When Murray goes, a part of F1 will die. The service he has provided his brilliant and I hope he goes on commentating for many years....
