FREE DVDs
Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review
...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them.
∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊
Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

Sharp's Practices
Advantages: Stylish furniture competently fitted into your bedroom
Disadvantages: Furniture is not of the highest quality.
...said something along the lines of ?50% plus £50 off all prices ? offer must end Saturday?. I?m sure that if I?d looked a little more closely I would have found some small print underneath saying ?but don?t worry it?ll be replaced by another offer next week? because something you realise is that this company has always got a special offer banner in the window.
Sharp?s Bedrooms is part of the Homeform Group. It doesn?t ring any bells? Well, I?m sure you?ll have heard of Moben Kitchens, Dolphin Bathrooms, Kitchens Direct and Portland Conservatories who are all part of the same group. Sharp?s say that they have a commitment to providing a ?desirable product range coupled with a friendly and efficient service.? ?Quality? you may note is not mentioned; it?s more ?it?ll look pretty and we?ll smile whilst we take your money from you as...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54
Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.
...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied.
On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Life at the Sharpe end
Advantages: Joyous read for a footy biog
Disadvantages: More juice please
...Alex Ferguson may have been the bricks and mortar of the Manchester United success story, and Mark Robbins the trigger; but it was all smiling Lee Sharpe who was the La chispa` (the spark of magic) that ignited the new dynasty with passion, intensity and sex appeal .Football was going that way, anyway, in the early nineties with the inception of the Premiership, and Sharpey was determined to be leading that revolution witha smile, United now the proud owners of title number nine in the last 14 seasons for Sir Alex.
Lee was one of the last guys to play the game with a smile on his face (much to Ferguson?s ire) and the wonderful photo on the books dust cover of Sharpey using the flag stick as a microphone stand reminds us of a day long past in the top levels of professional sport. He may have liked the ladies more than the training but...

Razor Sharp
Advantages: small, large screen, easy to use
Disadvantages: short battery life
...I was one of thos kids who grew up using nokias, so when I upgraded to a sharp gx10i a couple of years ago I was at first, understandably, I feel, a bit wary. However, the sharp phones are very easy to use, and the instruction manuals are extremely helpful. I loved my gx10, (especially seeing as it was my first flip-phone), so when I was offered a free upgrade to the gx15 I grudgingly accepted it.
As I am on a vodafone contract I got the gx15 free after having the gx10i for a year. When I received it I instantly fell in love with it, it has all the wonderful aspects of the gx10i, and then improvements on top of it. The first delight of it is the size of the screen. The phone is relatively small, and the manafacturers decided that of the screen and the buttons, they would make the screen larger and the buttons smaller. This decision I...

Sharp as an AQUOS
Advantages: Being gamer oriented ensures high end performance, surround sound, easy to set up.
Disadvantages: Prices are likely to drop quickly after buying - as with all electronic products.
...From the original creator of LCD technology comes another first - a 32" HD-ready 1080p LCD TV. The Sharp Aquos LC-32X20E was purposefully designed with gamers in mind. In addition to ordinarily providing unparalleled picture quality the LC-32X20E may also be optimised for gaming at the touch of a button. It allows for HD-sharpness and a faster response time needed by many gamers. As well as a beautiful, elegant, slim-line design and with exceptional picture and sound quality, the LC-32X20E comes with the easily recognizable piano lacquer-black finish of Sharp's products.
Most gamers who own a Play Station 3 or Xbox 360 often do not realise just how much of the processing power and high end graphics capabilities of their consoles are never being revealed. Using its HD-ready 1080p resolution, the 'game mode' of the LC-32X20E ensures...

My sharps sharp!!
Advantages: the sd card
Disadvantages: blured pictures and battery doesn't last long
...My boyfriend bought me a sharpgx20 and I loved it to bits, unfortunately I left it on the floor one day and he managed to pick me up twirl me round and stand on the phone, whoops, a great big crack going across the screen, I tried using it for a while but I couldn't even read a message on the screen. My boyfriend bought me a nokia 3300 for my birthday which was perfect for ring tones but it didn't have a camera, so it wasn't long before I was back on e-bay to find a new sharp phone. After days of hunting and being out bid I finally got a sharp GX 30i for £75, I'd say it was around a year ago so not a bad price considering they are still about £200 to buy brand new.
When it arrived I was impressed it looked brand new, still had the protective cover on the screen and no scratches what so ever. So off I went to test the camera.
The...

Sharp for squirt
Advantages: Small and light
Disadvantages: Battery life could be longer
...computer to backup and if necessary, to create a CD. The cradle comes bundled with the software that enables its behaviour. It was very easy to install on my PC. I did not have to do anything on my notebook.
14. Keyboard
Can't have a notebook without this, since I type faster than I speak. The buttons of the keyboard I believe is 90% the size of those found on a standard keyboard. So, people with large fingers, watch out, you might have the tendency to hit two keys instead of one. Luckily for me, this petitesquirt has petite fingers too!
15. Last of all, the Operating System.
Not that important but the notebook came with Windows XP loaded. Given a choice I would have liked Sharp to preload this with both linux and windows, linux for my writing and surfing the net while windows for games and photos.

Sharpe's Beginnings
Advantages: An excellent story, good characterisation, enjoyable book
Disadvantages: -
...It's 1799 and young soldier Richard Sharpe and his battalion are preparing for the siege of Seringapatam in India. It's the first time Sharpe will really taste battle as they attempt to topple the Tippoo of Mysore. When a senior officer is captured by the enemy Lieutenant Lawford requests that Sharpe accompany him in a mission within the City to rescue his uncle. For Sharpe this is the ideal way to escape the grasps of his tyrannical Sergeant Hakeswill. It turns out though that Sharpe's problems are just beginning and he has to make certain decisions to aid the British invasion.
This is currently the first novel in Bernard Cornwell's series of books following the adventures of Richard Sharpe. Of course most people will be more familiar with the exploits of Sharpe on ITV starring Sean Bean. Until recently this had been my only...

Don - the original one!
Advantages: Amitabh Bachchan in a double role
Disadvantages: Some of the fight scenes drag on a bit
...a director), and the story, screenplay and dialogue for the film was by Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan (who as a team also wrote Sholay, Trishul, Deewaar, Shaan, Kranti and many other popular Bollywood films of the 70s and 80s). The film runs for about 165 minutes and was produced by Nariman A Irani (who incidentally died in an accident on set whilst the movie was being filmed). Don has a PG certificate and is a Hindi language film (aka Bollywood). It was filmed in various studios in Bombay in India.
To me this was one of Amitabh Bachchan?s best roles during the 70s. He was in his element playing the gangster bad guy, then the paan* chewing scruffy oily haired street performer, then that same humble but sharp-witted street performer developing into and convincing gangster bad boy character. It was the 70s and flares were still in, Amitabh Bachchan...
