You have been warned! Horrid Place!

...I have heard the phrase 'Cheap and Cheerful' or 'You get what you pay for' but the Lincoln Arms Hotel, Dorking takes the biscuit. What was wrong with it! (What was right with it should be the real question) 1) We were asked to call a head and state our arrival time, I did this two days before saying we would be arriving at 12pm, yet when we arrived our room was not ready, we had to wait 20mins for our room, which only gave us an hour for three people to get ready for a wedding we were attending. 2) In the room we were given four small towels barley big enough to cover a butt cheek! They were frayed a worn and greying in colour. The room was clean but very shabby with none of the duvet covers matching. Our TV had no reception and was placed high upon a tall wardrobe so we could not adjust it. The bathroom was tiny...

...Dork Tower is hysterical. I first read it about 6 months ago when my boyfriend dragged me up to Aberdeen to see Mike who runs Asylum Games. Anyway, Mike gave me a copy of Dork Tower to read as I was being the bored "gamer's girlfriend" in the corner. I loved it. It basically takes the piss out of comic readers and role-players but does so in a way that everyone will enjoy. It is one of the few comics I still read and if you are a gamer or know anyone who is then I guarantee that you will love Dork Tower. If you want to know how to use your gaming skills to effectively deal with tele-sales people, or how to cope when the non-gamer relatives come to stay, or if you want to know about the latest supplement for Warhamster then you have got to read this comic. Review of The Gamers 2: Dorkness Rising

University of Dork (I didn't make that up!)

Advantages: Nice campus, high in league tables
Disadvantages: Small, full of academic but not so hip students!

...The University of York is renound for being known as the University of Dork in the papers, though I didn't know this prior to accepting a place! This is probably because it has been climbing the league tables and is currently seventh in the Times top universities but also won "university of the year" for 2003, so its only natural that some of the students spend more time looking in their books than looking in the mirror. GEEKS I am also pretty biased seeing as I do Maths, which is full of "geeks" where as subjects such as humanities, business courses etc are a lot more trendy nowadays and the students are slightly cooler! In a questionnaire about the university I was asked to fill in gave me the question "draw and describe a typical maths student." My response was big hair, spotty, glasses, no style whatsoever, could smell slightly...
