A cereal model
Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review
...I have been aware of the Dorset range of cereals for a long time now but have always shunned them due to their high price tag-£2.99 for a 415 gram box is more than I am willing to pay. However a few weeks ago our local Waitrose was selling all Dorset cereals at half price. I decided to give a box of naturally light flaks with figs and grapes a go. I liked the fact that this cereal only contains 2% fat and was intrigued by the addition of spelt, something I had never heard of. I love figs and grapes too so this was an easy choice.

Breakfast from Dorset
Advantages: It is exactly as it says on the box.
Disadvantages: Quite expensive.
...I as really can't stand milk breakfast can be a bit of an issue with me. Just the thought of cereal going soggy in a bowl full of milk just churns my stomach. Therefore I just usually give breakfast a miss. That is until I discovered Dorset Cereals Really Nutty Muesli.
Whilst cat sitting for the parents the other week, I discovered a box of the said muesli in mum's kitchen cupboard. It really caught my eye because the packaging is so different. The cereal comes in a terracotta coloured cardboard box with a design cut out on the front that resembles an ear of corn that is backed with clear plastic. On the front it states 750g of unadulterated breakfast pleasure. Through the plastic windows you can see the museli. It looked so good (an I will come on to why in a mo), that I decided just to try a handful. Oh, what heaven, its...

A Fruity Breakfast
Advantages: Very healthy; lots of dried fruit
Disadvantages: Normally expensive; not many cherries
...It's been a long time since I had muesli for breakfast but I had occasionally enjoyed Dorset Cereals' Fruity Porridge during the winter. Waitrose currently has their whole range of cereals and cereal bars at half price, so this seemed like an opportunity not to be missed. I picked up a box of the Berries and Cherries variety; it comes in a purple box with cut-out leaf shapes on the front that give you a peek at what you're getting in the inner cellophane packet.
The box indicates that the contents are fifty per cent fruit, but the name of this cereal is perhaps slightly misleading. The greater part of the fruit is actually made up of raisins, sultanas and chilean flame raisins. The dried cranberries, blueberries, cherries, blackcurrants and raspberries are each present in very small amounts (between 0.5% and 1.5%). The cereals include...

Dorset County Hospital
Advantages: Friendly, Efficient, Very Clean
Disadvantages: None, apart from waiting time
...I am at present resting at home after an operation on my left shoulder, made necessary after a clumsy fall that compressed the shoulder joint.
After a regimen of physiotherapy and steroids it was deemed that an operation called a subacromial decompression was arranged and took place at the orthopaedic unit of the Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester, Dorset.
I was given a choice of three hospitals, in line with the government's policy of offering a choice and I feel that I made the correct decision.
The choices on the list were The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospital, Poole General Hospital and the Dorset county.
Bournemouth was too far away, Poole is not a very nice hospital so I was left with Dorchester .

Looks Can Be Deceiving
Advantages: nice packaging
Disadvantages: too sour, bland
...If there's one meal of the day that I really enjoy then it has to be breakfast. There's nothing more relaxing than just relaxing with a bowl of cereal while watching This Morning, but I like to change cereals as I don't like getting stuck in a rut with the same cereal. I love my special K but at £2.80 a time it was starting to cost too much buying it even though I love it so I started to look down the cereal aisle for alternatives. There is now big choice in healthy cereals with fruit pieces but it's a matter of if they taste nice or not. I came across this company Dorset Cereals on offer that I hadn't seen before.
ABOUT
They have nice packaging which is what attracted me but I hadn't heard of them before or seen them for that matter. When going onto their website, it became clear that they actually have a whole range of products I...

Give your taste buds a treat!
Advantages: Tasty, good for you
Disadvantages: a little pricey
...Dorset Cereals, better known for their delicious muesli cereals, have recently launched a range of porridges, both plain and flavoured. During the winter months I like to have a bowl of porridge for breakfast as it warms me right up and keeps me going until lunch. Having run out of my usual variety, I went to my local Tescos to buy some but was disappointed to find they'd run out. Looking for an alternative I found the new range of Dorset Cereals porridge on promotion, at £1.39 for a box of 8 sachets, which I thought I'd try.
The packaging is distinctive and stands out from other similar products on the shelf. The box itself is a cube (it's a little different to the picture), unlike most cereal packets, and is coloured bright red (to reflect the cranberries and raspberries). The front is uncluttered with the Dorset cereals logo...

Fibber-loss!
Advantages: Simply the most crunchy, tasty, nutritious start to your day
Disadvantages: Needs a little more time to chew and enjoy than a standard cereal
...in the vicinity of the mueslis (this cereal does not advertise itself as a "muesli", by the way, despite the category in which Ciao have put it!) and see if you can find a box of this stuff. If you're tempted, but put off by the £2.80-odd price tag (for almost three quarters of a kilo of the stuff, 730g, 11 helpings!), then hunt a little lower or to the right - you'll find a Dorset Cereals selection box (three small packets, each different, pictured below) to give you a brief taste you'll never forget...
The only cardboard bit is the box.

Cereal Nut!!
Advantages: Wide variety, fairly cheap, versatile, availability
Disadvantages: Some not so pleasant, sugar, some nutrition
...to snacking mid-morning, usually consuming more calories than would have been in your breakfast.
I never used to be a real breakfast person, and the thought of food in the morning made me feel very sick! However in the past few months, I have been getting forced to eat a large breakfast, and I now realise I do infact have a lot more energy, and although I also snack mid-morning, the first part of my morning is full of energy and I have a lot more concentration!
When I was little and I did enjoy breakfast, part of breakfast in our house along with our toast was a big bowl of cereal! When I was little however, these cereals were usually sugar-laden and chocolate! I also used to quite enjoy eating cereal dry, without milk, espescially if it was something sweet and sugary like Frosties or Golden Nuggetts.
Now however I much prefer...
