...Having enjoyed 'Three Colours Red' starring Irene Jacob and directed by Krystof Kieslowski, I was delighted when a friend offered to lend me 'The Double Life of Veronique', featuring the same actress and director. Both Weronika in Poland and Veronique in France feel that they are not alone in the world. Both roles are played by Irene Jacob, so the two young women obviously look identical, but they do not know each other. Yet they have an inexplicable connection. The first part of the film focuses on Weronika, who leaves her father and boyfriend to go and stay with her aunt in Krakow. She is an extremely talented singer and soon wins a competition. Double Delicious

Advantages: Delicious, amazing base, amazing price, cannot believe it's frozen!

Double Wedding

Advantages: Addictive, a really good read.
Disadvantages: Can't think of any.

...This book, as the title suggests, centres around the double wedding of Jessica and Mike, and Carol and Gary, and the lead up to it. Jessica and Mike are crazy about each other. Carol has insecurities from the childhood that she had, so you feel she knows that Gary is not 'the one' but that she is getting married to finally have some stability and security in her life. The reason that she wants a double wedding with Jessica and Mike is that she is scared that Gary will pull out of the wedding otherwise. Carol finds out that she is pregnant on her wedding day, and it finally gives her strength to tell Gary to get lost. It's a Double Bass daddio!

Advantages: They're beautiful.
Disadvantages: You'll cry if you have to sell it.

...It's difficult to buy a double bass in the simple way you might buy a good quality electric guitar or electric bass . For a guitar you can sort of decide if you're Fender, Gibson, Gretsch etc type of person by seeing what you're favourite players use on the telly and then trying them out in any good guitar store. But for the double bass we're in different territory all together and different rules apply. If you try out the bass in a store or room that is stuffed with other double basses or even other wooden acoustic instruments its going to resonate a little in each of those instruments and lead you into believing you have a lovely sounding bass when you probably haven't. Cadbury Double Decker

Advantages: A great chocolate bar
Disadvantages: I guess it's got a few calories!

...Yes, it's now time to move onto chocolate bars on my whirlwind tour of junk food that I'm eating this week in an attempt to pass the time! It's certainly one of, if not my absolute favourite chocolate bar out there...introducing Cadbury's Double Decker. To use the quote on the front of the bright purple and orange wrapper, (yes, it certainly stands out!) the bar is made up of "milk chocolate with smooth, chewy nougatine and crisp, crunchy cereal filling." I'm sure a number of you can remember the rather odd advertising campaign for Double Decker's a number of year's back that included eccentric comedian Charlie Chuck on an old routemaster bus describing what exactly a Double Decker is. Some of it is the real Brio wooden train sets and some is Brio compatible from other companies. Review of Double Bass

Bosch stainless steel built under double oven

Advantages: Cook on 3 floors, shut door for grill use
Disadvantages: Water marks and smudges easily.

...I had my previous oven for about 8 years it was already in the house we bought but it only cooked on one level and did not have a grill so started looking round for a new oven as I have 3 growing children. I chose this out of 2 possible brands and researched Bosch on the internet, unfortunately Comet and Currys had a choice of 2 or 3 ovens so we bought from a local shop in Worcester and actually ordered over the telephone, we wanted this particular model because it is a built-under which means that we could fit it under the existing space. We had a new hob fitted and extractor hood and managed to fit this oven in the space under the hob without moving things round in the kitchen. The oven consists of a single oven/grill and a double oven underneath, this has been very useful with fussy eaters and cooking different meals at once...

Packaging The Double Decker bar stands out from others on the shelves as it has a bright orange and purple wrapper. Double Decker is written across the front of the wrapper in white writing. On the back of the wrapping is nutritional information. Price Double Decker's can be bought pretty much anywhere but I tend to buy mine from Tesco when I do my weekly shop. At Tesco, a single bar costs 38p and you can also buy a multi pack of 5 bars which costs £1.28. Highchair - Chicco Polly (Double Phase)

Advantages: Good to look at, ease of use, folds away.
Disadvantages: Possibly the price

...One tip I can give for purchasing a highchair is to wait until your baby is born. I never realised that I would be weaning my daughter so early. Due to the fact that she couldn't sit unaided when I started to feed her solids, a wooden fixed seat (which is what I originally wanted) would not have been any good. The Chicco Polly Double Phase highchair is brilliant. Not only is it a delight to look at (although my mother disagrees!), it is easy to use and fold away. I purchased the highchair from Babies R Us with a £5 discount voucher for £95 but you can get it for about £84 on the Kiddicare website. Its features include: Four position reclining seat - this has been very handy due to my daughter's young age. It is apparently useful if your child falls asleep. Mine hasn't yet.
