...Whilst shopping in Sainsbury's the other day, I couldn't resist having a look down the chocolate aisle on my way round. Okay, I don't want to give you the impression that I'm a chocoholic or anything, but seeing Nestlé Double Cream on a BOGOF offer (150g) was just too much for me to resist. Others must also have succumbed as there were no more left on the shelf! Luckily for me I got the last two - heehee! A day later and I am sitting here in front of my computer writing this review, whilst simultaneously munching away at my first bar of Nestlé Double Cream. Here is my verdict. PRODUCT QUALITY I cannot fault it. The chocolate is of a very good quality, as you would expect from Nestlé. Double Delicious

Advantages: Delicious, amazing base, amazing price, cannot believe it's frozen!

Yum Galaxy... oh I mean Double Cream

Double Cream, But Not Double Taste

Advantages: Creamy, Fresh

...Having not seen this bar in a few months I literally leapt at the chance to grab one when I saw at my local newsagents. Sod the new diet, I can always lose weight tomorrow but the risk of not taking one of these little beauties is more than I can bear. Appearance The bar itself sticks out very clearly, hence how I noticed it from half way across the newsagents. It consists of chocolate brown, blue and cream colour swirls with Nestle Double Milk written on the front. The back also informs you that the cocoa is from Ecuador while ?Divine Double Cream? is used, I wonder what the gods would thing of this. Also hidden away on the back is a table of nutritional information threat merely tells you each bar contains 244 calories and 14.2g of fat, damn that definitely is another diet down the pan, it also mentions that it contains traces...

What's a mince pie without cream?

...So how come I went and bought double cream today? It is that time of year again, Christmas is round the corner and the shops are full of lovely things like mince pies. I had the little grands today and we went to Sainsburys, after yesterday with a housefull of four under fours and today with two under fours in the house I felt like a treat. The children grabbed at some mince pies as I pushed them around in the trolley and I thought "Why not?" but I like cream with my mince pies. Wandering past the milk I found fruit juice and was just about to give up when at the end there was the cream. What choice! They seem nowadays to sell cream made of all sorts of things and I have tried some of them and they are nice but nothing for me beats the taste of fresh pasturised double cream. ++How much?++ 59p? that's for the 284ml...

Scottish Double Cream Cheese Dream

Advantages: Delicious, creamy, more-ish, delicious.
Disadvantages: Full-fat, high in calories, a bit pricey.

...One of the finest Cheeses ever to come out of the Highlands. This can be found in a fetching dark blue/white/light blue hexagonal cardboard “tube” and bears the legend “double cream cheese from the Highlands hand rolled in Scottish pinhead oatmeal”. It is known as Caboc. Don’t ask me about pronounciation, dunno, me! I just devour the stuff, and so does my other half! We love it. It is highly fattening, and comes in 110g packet with 83% double cream cheese and 17% pinhead oatmeal. Other than that it only contains a preservative. That is it. Talk about authentic, delicious and lacking in additives. This has the lot. The taste is not, admittedly, to everyone’s taste. ...I have been a fan of Cadbury's Creme Eggs (CCE) since I was a small child and can't wait till they get them in the shops shortly after Christmas. I decided to try these new Nestle Double Cream eggs though after seeing alot of advertising for them in magazines and on bus shelters etc. At Tesco a 3 pack costs 98p and they can be bought single which are slightly dearer at 36p. To compare them to CCE, the availability is nowhere near as good and neither is the pack size: This 3 pack is the largest available but CCE go right up to a box of 18 for real chocoholics! They are available in every newsagent or small shop but you can't even get Nestle Double Cream Eggs from Woolworths - Unbelievable. ...I am a Huge chocolate fan. I must have tried just about all the chocolate bars out there but this one has to be one of my top ten. I'm sure I will write another op about this!! Ok, back to the chocolate. Packaging. ---------- The bar of chocolate that I am writing is the 150g one. It come in a pearly brown wrapper with a large Nestle logo in the middle of it surrounded by swirls of blue and cream. On the front of the pack there is a description which reads "Milk chocolate made with divine double cream balanced with fine cocoa beans because.......chocolate matters". On the reverse of the pack there is a list of ingredients which I will cover later as well as the nutritional information and the company details. The pack is made of a foil material to keep the chocolate fresh - not that it will last long enough to spoil...

...After indulging too much in another brand of chocolate egg I decided to give myself a rest from them for a while but a week later I was suffering withdrawal symptoms and I found myself yet again in Tesco's and yet again, in the chocolate aisle.
