What's in your Wardrobe..???

Advantages: All round family entertainment at its best with a fine story
Disadvantages: maybe a little long for some

...My daughter borrowed a DVD form one of her friends from school over the half term holidays and whinged until we all sat and watched it. When I saw the title and read the ?blurb? I suddenly remembered that I had read something very similar, only it was entitled ?The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe?, the only mention of Narnia was in the movie itself and not the title, from what I could recollect. Anyway, I remembered that I found C.S. Lewis?s ?Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe? a very good book indeed many years ago, (see, my memory does go way back), so I happily sat down with the family and watched this posher titled movie, hoping that I, and especially the kids, would not be disappointed. Seeing Double

Disadvantages: Difficult to fathom

...Having enjoyed 'Three Colours Red' starring Irene Jacob and directed by Krystof Kieslowski, I was delighted when a friend offered to lend me 'The Double Life of Veronique', featuring the same actress and director. Both Weronika in Poland and Veronique in France feel that they are not alone in the world. Both roles are played by Irene Jacob, so the two young women obviously look identical, but they do not know each other. Yet they have an inexplicable connection. The first part of the film focuses on Weronika, who leaves her father and boyfriend to go and stay with her aunt in Krakow. She is an extremely talented singer and soon wins a competition. Advantages: Delicious, amazing base, amazing price, cannot believe it's frozen!

GRACE Wardrobe - A DISGRACE!

Advantages: Very nice shaker design, practical
Disadvantages: Poor material quality, assembly too time consuming

...I had chosen the wardrobe for my 7-year-old daughter. I liked the white shaker design and it seemed very practical with 3 drawers, 2 shelves and a hanging rail section. I purchased the item online at Littlewoods for a sales price of £199 which became £156.20 after several customer discounts (vouchers etc.). I found the price to be reasonable having shopped around for weeks and not being able to find anything as nice looking as this wardrobe in the same price range. Similar items were a lot more expensive, so I was pleased with my "bargain". Once the item was received though, I was shocked about how labour intensive the assembly was. The instructions were extremely difficult to make out and consisted of several pages of pictures ending up in a very comprehensive booklet. The lion, the witch, the wardrobe and its review

Advantages: Great story, wonderful scenery and fantastic visual effects
Disadvantages: The additional footage seems a tad pointless

...In a fit of boredom, what with the rain and everything, I decided to escape the dreary estate I live on and transport myself to another realm. Seeing as I do not own a TARDIS I settled for 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'. Maybe not as interesting as seeing the crab nebula or travelling 'round in a box with a beautiful assistant but we can't have everything can we? I am sure by now that everyone out there already knows the salient points of the book and/or film but for those of you out there who have never known nor cared about the story then this next bit is for you. The Wion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Advantages: Plot, Acting, Make-up, Majority of the CGI
Disadvantages: Remaining CGI, 2 Dimensional

..., in a wardrobe, between all the clothes and as she leans backwards she falls into the wonderfully mysterious land of Narnia where she is first greeted by a faun, Mr. Tumnus. Lucy learns that this magical world is under a spell, set by Jadis, the White Witch, keeping it in permanent winter until two daughters of Eve and two sons of Adam (that's two male and two female humans for those who don't know) break the spell and Aslan, the true king, can rule again. ***Performances*** The overall standard of acting in this film was excellent and considering the four main parts (the Pevensie children) are all under eighteen this a fantastic effort and a lot of credit must go to the casting director for picking up these previously unseen actors/actresses out of a choice of thousands as all of the parts were performed with fantastic quality...

Double Wedding

Advantages: Addictive, a really good read.
Disadvantages: Can't think of any.

...This book, as the title suggests, centres around the double wedding of Jessica and Mike, and Carol and Gary, and the lead up to it. Jessica and Mike are crazy about each other. Carol has insecurities from the childhood that she had, so you feel she knows that Gary is not 'the one' but that she is getting married to finally have some stability and security in her life. The reason that she wants a double wedding with Jessica and Mike is that she is scared that Gary will pull out of the wedding otherwise. Carol finds out that she is pregnant on her wedding day, and it finally gives her strength to tell Gary to get lost.
