D-Link DP-301U
Review of D-Link DP 301U by
tgrigg
Advantages: Robust, Reliable, Easy to configure
Disadvantages: None
...The D- Link DP-301U is a small compact print server that connects to your Ethernet or Fast Ethernet network. With its USB port, the DP-301U allows those on your network to access and share a USB printer no matter where they reside on the network. We use quite a lot these printer servers at work as not many of our printers do not have built in network connections an as most of our printers have USB connections we need a print server that has USB compatible.
These print servers are very easy to use, are very easy to setup and the user manual that comes with them is very easy understand and to follow. The print server is equipped with one USB version 1.1 port for a connection to most USB printers available ass most printers only support USB. The DP-301U also supports all major network operation systems and protocols. With its compact size...

Kiss DP-600
Review of Kiss DP-600 by
dan_oglesby30
Advantages: Plays all the content and file types you can throw at it
Disadvantages: Plenty of bugs, little firmware updates and the Online Extras are useless
...I have owned the Kiss DP-600 player since the day it came out. So far it has not failed to play a media type thrown at it. Unfortunatly Kiss have only released a few firmware updates. The player is still full of Bugs.
For example - *a Green screen when the player turns on
*Difficulty in Upgrading and Downgrading Firmware
*HDMI issues still (my HDMI decided it would stop working)
*Access speeds from USB port to an External usb HDD make high definition content on the hard disk pretty much unplayable.
*Power off feature doesnt always switch to full standby more like a hibernate mote
Dispite a couple of firmware updates to do not think Kiss have taken their time with this product. In my opinion this is now very over priced for its age. And looking around you can buy HD media player which is more up to date than the Kiss 600.
At one stage...

Whadya mean its not trendy
Review of Dorothy Perkins (Shop) by
rosieR
Advantages: Wide range of clothing to suit different tastes, good maternity wear
Disadvantages: Some of the shops may close
...For a while now there have been many rumours that Dorothy Perkins, Dotty P’s or DP, as it is known to it’s regular customers, will be closing down in the very near future. This is because it is part of the doomed Arcadia Group (along with Burton, TopShop, Racing Green, Principles and Richards) who announced last year that they would be shutting down a lot of stores as the company wasn’t making enough profit. Richards has already disappeared from the high street and, up and down the country, stores like DP are beginning to disappear too.
Thankfully, at the moment, Arcadia have taken the decision, in some instances, to house two of their stores in one building. So it is not unusual to see Dorothy Perkins on the ground floor with Burton on the first (or vice versa). A compromise, yes, but at least they are still hanging...

An old time favourite
Review of Dorothy Perkins (Shop) by
judithritchie
Advantages: good clothes generally, student discounts, store cards are good but interest rates seem quitehigh, sell everything you could need
Disadvantages: a tad expensive, cramped storelayout
...! The queues are therefore often long.
The store covers alot of different clothing items and accesories. It has a wide selection oflingerie, maternity, petite ranges, business clothes, evening wear and casual clothes and coats. It also sells shoes, jewellery, gloves and wallets, bags - everything you would really need. It would be easy to go in and find an outfit! I find that DP clothes size 12 fit me well, and this is one thing I come back for again and again. I hate the fluctuations in sizes you get shopping at various stores, as it is hard to get a consistent size for my just-about-size 14 body. The same can be said about my 36DD bust, which is hard to buy for if you eliminate the undignified boxed-bra shopping at M&S. DP cater for me too. So I get to buy clothes that fit me well! What more does a girl want?
Well, you'll probably want good...

Dotty about Dotty Perkins
Review of Dorothy Perkins (Shop) by
sandrabarber
Advantages: Wide choice, excellent prices, reasonable quality, huge size range
Disadvantages: Not cutting edge
...I never used to pay much attention to Dorothy Perkins. I used to head straight for Warehouse, Whistles and Oasis whenever I wanted clothes. However, over the last couple of years I’ve put on quite a bit of weight due to some medication I have to take, and I’ve gone from a size 12/14 to a 16/18. Depressing enough in itself, but what made it more so was that more and more often I would go into my fave stores and find NOTHING that fitted.
In desperation, I tried Dorothy Perkins, and was very pleasantly surprised. In fact I’ve been there this morning and kitted myself out with a few things for my return to work next week after a lovely holiday at home.
My local DP is one of their larger stores, and, unlike many, is a stand-alone store, i.e. not housed within Burton. There are also a couple of smaller stores nearby, but I’m basing my...

Look around for the best price!
Review of LG 795FT Plus by
Onurb
Advantages: Cheap, Excellent picture quality adn superb touch-sensitive controls.
Disadvantages: None so far!
...I would highly recomend this monitor, but be wary before you buy.
I paid just under £220 for it from Scan, but I have seen it advertised elsewhere for up to £317.
The monitor has an excellent, crisp display (0.24dp). The on-screen controls are easy to use, especially with the touch-sensitive buttons.
Instead of buying a cheap 19" monitor for the same price, opt for this. The advantages are obvious upon the first time you use it.
Easy to set up, easy to use and an all round stunner for the price....

Good for bigger sizes
Review of Dorothy Perkins (Shop) by
eca99ajm
Advantages: Good quality, inexpensive, great for basics
Disadvantages: Can get similar elsewhere
...Dorothy Perkins is by far one of my favourite shops. The general treatment of "plus" size women in shops has been terrible but things seem to be changing. I'm a size 18 and getting fashionable clothes at a reasonable price used to be almost impossible, but the High Street seems to be coming around to the idea that most people aren't built like Ally McBeal! Dorothy Perkins is one of those places.
They cater for a very wide range of styles and sizes (from 8 to 20) and are one of those "one stop" shops that I love. You can get basics like plain coloured t-shirts for around £7 (and some basic shapes at £5), sexy dresses for £25 and up, and suits are also very reasonable. You could fit out your entire wardrobe in DP's if you're one of those strange women who hate clothes shopping!
I have read opinions on Ciao that question the quality...

The best printer I have ever used.
Review of Xerox Phaser 8400DP by
robmarks
Advantages: Stunning print quality, fast, easy to use, takes varied stock
Disadvantages: Yet to find one!
...You may see that previously I had a Tally 8006 in my office. When I wrote the review for that I was considering upgrading. Well now I've done just that and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made.
After much consideration I purchased the Xerox Phaser 8400DP. The spec was what drew me to this particular printer. Duplex as standard, solid colour technology, ability to take card stock and fast print time. At around £1000 this printer might seem expense but in this case it's worth every penny.
After warm up, which is little slow, the printer is super fast, churning out copies (including colour) at an incredible speed. Despite this, the quality of the print is just stunning. This appears to be down to the solid colour technology that is used. Run glossy paper through the machine on full colour prints and the final product...

A deteriorating town
Review of Maidstone in General by
spittingllama
Advantages: shops, nightlife
Disadvantages: dirty, run down, traffic congestion
...Maidstone has gone downhill over the last decade. I have lived nearby all my life though thankfully not in the town. It seems to be becoming even more a dump than it has been before, with some areas and estates in urgent need of improvement. It is also not safe for anyone to walk around there at night and although there are some good places to go in the evening, you do not feel safe going there. It does have some good points - the floral sheep always looks cool in the high street and some of teh shops are good with the usual high street branches such as Burtons, DP, RIver Island, and Army and Navy is a good if expensive department store. The archbishop's palace is also worth a look. But Maidstone has a grubby feel to it and does not compare favourably to other Kent towns such as Canterbury or Tunbridge Wells....
