Couples Retreat: a total carcrash of a movie.

...I watch 50-60 films a year, not counting TV and DVD, and I haven?t seen a worse film than this in the past 5 years. I shared a cinema with 19 other people and there wasn?t a single laugh. The characters were all stereotypes and caricatures; the script was so clunky you could hear the punctuation marks; the editing was done-with-a-penknife clumsy; the film was shot in glaring, garish colour that hurt the eyes; and, yes, there was even a repellent small child ? the kind that you could only find in American films. The whole premise of the film and storyline are unbelievable, and you just hate all the people in it. The plot revolves around Jason Bateman?s character and wife having a hard time conceiving so that want to go to an island retreat to re-bond, but it?s so expensive they can only afford to go if three other couples go...

Keep your drains clean

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: not that many

...Keeping your drains clear is a very useful home maintenance project. And, if done properly need not cost much money. There are dozens (probably more) propriety drain cleaning products available. These range from the useless to the very useful but also high dangerous. Remember. Whenever you deal with drain cleaning products always read the instructions, never, ever decant them into other containers and always, at a minimum, wear suitable rubber gloves. One of the best and most effective forms of drain cleaner are soda crystals. Old fashioned? They may well be. But they work and, although not entirely risk free, they are certainly not as dangerous as some drain cleaning products on the market. Couples Negril

Advantages: Service, Style and Quality
Disadvantages: Adult only

...I have been to this hotel twice and am due to go back for the third time! It really is All Inclusive from the moment you step off the plane and stroll to the in airport couples lounge for your first drink, to the shuttle to your hotel, and resort excursions. The service here is warm, friendly and attentive without being in your face or imposing. The rooms are well furnished and comfortable and I loved leaving my case at reception only for it to appear at my door a few minutes later, no tip require (or allowed) the resort is not too big and the beach here is stunning, I loved the red flag system on the beach to get your drink refreshed. If you want quality, style and service I would recommend Couples Negril every time....

Couples Retreat: Fun and entertaining, bound to get some laughs!

Advantages: Funny, a little different from the usual romcom.
Disadvantages: Somewhat predictable.

  Paradise honeymoon at Couples, Ochos Rios

Advantages: No kids, loads to do
Disadvantages: American tourists, strange booking system for activites

...We chose the Couples resort for our honeymoon because, as well as sun and sand, we wanted a resort where there would be plenty to see and do (yes, even on honeymoon ;-)). This was certainly true of Couples. We travelled with Unijet (now part of First Choice I believe) from London Gatwick to Montego Bay airport. Since we were flying charter and the flight is around 8 hours long, we booked a "premium upgrade" for around £300 which gave us a longer seat pitch, free drinks, a choice of meals with real cutlery and seat back entertainment. Arrival at the airport was a little chaotic. On clearing customs, there were LOTS of porters offering to carry our bags. My advice is not to bother because it is literally only a few feet to the Couples desk and then out to the bus. Yes, I did say bus. OK, it had air conditioning, but it was a bone...

Coupling - Hooray :-)

Advantages: great cast, often hilariously funny
Disadvantages: some bits aren't as funny as others

...I hadn't been planning to watch Coupling at first, as it looked too much like it was trying to be Friends & I can't stand that programme. But it was on in the background & I watched more of it each week & ended up quite a fan of the series ! Of course, some parts were less funny than others, it certainly wasn't perfect, but it seemed a very intelligently put together programme & something a bit different, a bit more original than similar programmes. The cast are all very talented & gelled well together. Their timing was very good, the script was usually very good - with the odd classic line or sketch thrown in ! I think the best one was called 'Breasts ! Breasts ! Breasts !' which involved a woman who couldn't speak English. Advantages: Everything - its amazing!
Disadvantages: None!

...My husband and I went to Couples Negril for our honeymoon last year - we did a two resort holiday, the first week at Couples Negril and the second at Couples Ocho Rios. Of the two, we preferred Couples Negril. This place is amazing! From the moment we got on the courtesy bus from the airport, and our leader stopped off at a petrol station to pick up some Red Stripe for everyone!, to the minute we left, we were treated like royalty. The Jamaicans are so friendly, they can't do enough for you. The standard rooms are really nice - I can only imagine how lovely the deluxe ones must be! You can see the beach from all rooms (it seemed) and most overlook the gardens/wedding gazebo. Cleaning blocked drains the cheap way

Advantages: cheap, environmentally friendly
Disadvantages:

...Before you call out hte plumber try this first. Instead of buying the environmentally unfriendly products of trying to unblock a drain, rather by some bicarbonated soda(250g or so depending on how blocked the drain is) and vinegar. Pour the dry bicarb over the drain hole and then some vinegar over. A chemical reaction will take place and it will fizz away. Leave for a least half hour while the fizz works throught the pipes. This usually unblocks the drain unless there is something big down there!! Repeat if the desired effect is not gained the first time....

Couples Resort, heaven on earth - Honeymoon week 1

Advantages: No kids, excellent value for money
Disadvantages: small beach (albeit private)

...Well, here we are. Where are we? Oh, sorry, you're not all with us are you as my hubby and I embark on the first week of our honeymoon. We are in Jamaica and will be spending the first week at Couples, Ochos Rios. Having booked our transfers at the Couples desk on Montego Bay airport (there'll be an op on the airport shortly) we are whisked to a waiting minibus (via two porters and two expensive tips…. (tipping can be a bit of a problem in Jamaica - see my general op for details if you are interested)) for onward transport to Ochos Rios. We are the only people in the bus. Ohos Rios lies less than 50 miles from Montego Bay and so I was interested to find out why the transfer was due to take 2 hours. I wish I had remained in blissful ignorance of the reasons. ...Last month my wife and I spent a most memorable week at Couples, Ocho Rios. The whole resort was totally amazing, the staff were attentive, helpful and just couldn't do enough to make our holiday the most amazing experience! The resort itself had 5 restaurants ranging from a beach bar that served all sorts of snacks from nachos to jerk chicken to what were the strangest hot dogs my wife ever had in her life! Other choices of eateries were a very fancy french restaurant to the fantastic pasta eatery on a small pier over the sea, very romantic, especially by candlelight! The choice of watersports was fabulous, from Scuba diving (at no extra charge!), to waterskiing, snorkelling, even a sunset cruise and it was all included in the price!
