Advantages: Mansun's last album.
Disadvantages: It's unfinished work

...Mansun in the past have been known as the perennial underdog, always able to write cracking tunes, but just slightly too "weird" to be considered mainstream. After 3 studio records, they decided to call it a day, but lead singer Paul Draper felt the material they had was too good just to throw away. Enter Kleptomania. Kleptomania disc one is a sign of where the band were at when they split, and comprises unfinished work, as well as one or two tracks they managed to finish. Disc 2 is a compilation of b-sides and EP tracks, and the quality of material here (Ski Jump Nose, Take It Easy Chicken) shows just how good this band were to be able to leave these tracks off albums. Advantages: visit a new place

...50 Km from the International Airport of Rio de Janeiro and during 1940 Quitandinha was the biggest Casino of Latin America and famous people use to go there as like Errol Flyn, Orson Welles, Lana Turner, Henry Fonda and many others, but also Evita Peron, Carmen Miranda, Jose Mojica, and Pedro Vargas. The syle is french from the north of France but actualy was decorated by Dorothy Draper - american. There are lots of different rooms, but now it is open for turism and some of the flats are available to sell or to buy. There are some people living in the Quitandinha Palace.Very nice place to visit, you really feel welcome.... Read review

Advantages: Near Central London and the Burbs. Has something for everyone
Disadvantages: Eeehhh, the work load :-)

...Part of the University of London, QMW as it is known is located between Mile End station (Central Line) and Stepney Green (District Line). It is a very large campus, covering a wide variety of courses. The recently re-vamped student bar has created a trendy atmosphere with the Drapers (Bar), E1 (Club), the Market (Shop, video hire, everything needed by a student), Sandwich bar and Buger Bar up stairs with E1, and then there is the Gym, and sports facilites connected onto SU (student union). My course was based in the Grography department, and was Environmental Science. This had a wide base, being able to chose from courses from Biology, Buisness, Chemistry and Geography. With these facualties there are also economics, computers, physics, languages, arts, law, and a host of others that I can't remember the names of. The liabary... Read review

Advantages: Far more than a collection of songs, this album is a masterpiece
Disadvantages: Takes a few listens to really appreciate its brilliance

.... The blend of strings, electric guitar, traditional and electronic percussion, strange SFX and purely extraordinary lyrics gives the album real character and a truly unique identity, as does the ongoing theme based around the exploits of a transvestite vicar and his daughter Mavis. The seamless joining of each track is the final essential ingredient that elevates this album way above a mere collection of songs. Paul Draper (lead singer and song writer) takes the listener on a majestic journey through his fantasy world much like a visit to a musical or opera might and every part of the emotional spectrum is visited. But the brilliance doesn't stop here. Not only is this an album for listening to, it's an album for singing to. Advantages: beautiful haunting superb vocally and lyrically
Disadvantages: may not suit all ears

...after the bitter disappointment of six, Mansun have at last found a return to form. Little kix is a superb album full of haunting lyrics and beautiful melodies Mansun have found the unique niche that they can call there own. There is no-one in the uk that can match Mr draper when on form and the songs only go to prove that Mansun should be the no 1 band in the uk. With a chart full of pappy electronic rubbish its refreshing to hear a band that can actually play real instruments and have some thought in their lyrics, from the opening Butterfly, the album goes from strength to strength, standout tracks include i can only disappoint u, and comes as no surprise. This wont suit all tastes, but i can honestly say, this album has graced my cd player more times than any other this year. Outstanding. Mansun are the best thing to come out... Read review

Advantages: Good tunes great lyrics, different
Disadvantages: no lyrics in the sleeve

...This is the third album from Mansun and is once again differnt from the last one but once again brilliant. This time Mansun have gone all laid back and reflective and made a sort of soul/rock record mainly dealing with relationships. One of the best singles of last year “I can Only Dissapoint you” is here as is the Bowie like sing along “Electric Man”. The best song of the album is “Comes As No Suprise” a song about being left by someone, a song with a quiet verse and epic chourous. There is an excllent ochestral piece on “Soundtrack 4 2 Lovers” and a funky bass riff on “Love is....”. There is the strangley camp “We are the Boys” which, as most of the songs on this album has a very singable chourous. The end is abbrubt as the pink floyd like “Goodbye” cuts off. Paul Draper certainly wears his heart on his slevee on this record which... Read review

Advantages: A class squad
Disadvantages: Dont always perform like they can

...If Villa are going to challenge for top honours then they, at the time of writing, need at least 2 more quality players. The signing of Ginola is a good one for the fans but can he perform against the Uniteds and Arsenals. Luc Nilis showed touches of class in Euro 200 and Alpay is a quality centre back, one of the best in Europe. But Villa still need a proven goalscorer so they don't have to rely of Dublin, and a World Class midfielder. If they can do this and hang on to Ehiogu and Southgate then theres no reason they cant challenge for a champions league place. With dead wood such as Watson, Draper and hopefully Joachim leaving there is a quality squad developing. Players such as James, Southgate, Ehiogu, Wright, Merson, Taylor, Boateng and Dublin provide a class and experienced backbone to compliment the up and coming stars Barry... Read review

Advantages: Pure excellence
Disadvantages: The opera on six isnt to fab, but it grows on you and the poem being said is sweet

...Perverted vicars concept albums? Negatively thought out philosophies? A guitarist who wears a flowery dress on occassions? Sound familiar? No? Well thats the point! Mansun are THE most unique band of the past decade, with the excellence of singer/songer writer Paul Draper and guitarist Dominic Chad, using their first hand experiences in religious nonscence. Their first album, Attack of the Grey Lantern, although a fantastic album was only recognised to the public pop scene due to the 'pop' song Wide Open Space , but in my opinion Six is a much more creative album, in the way it has been composed from over 37 mini jams, into 13 intricate, beautiful melodies. With ever changing beats the band can still easily perform fantastic live versions of such complexly built songs. But the burning question is, why arent is it that everytime u ask... Read review

Advantages: new players to come in?
Disadvantages: too many un-happy players at the moment

...It seems that nobody is happy at Aston Villa. I believe that if the un-happy players don’t get fixed up with other clubs, then Villa are due for an unhappy season. Even if the players who are un-happy leave, John Gregory has to make some good signings to replace them. The biggest loss will be Gareth Southgate. The latest un-happy player is Ugo Ehiogu, not happy at being told that Sunderland were interested in him. Add that to the other movers and un-happy players including Alan Thompson, Paul Merson and Mark Draper and I believe that mid-table is the best that Villa can manage in the coming season. Villa have the “hope” of some success through the Inter Toto Cup, but that doesn’t really compare to a push for the Premiership. If things don’t start well for Villa, I can see John Gregory being one of the first managerial casualties... Read review
