...Please Note: This review is based solely on Drayton Manor's Magical Christmas at Thomas Land and not on the full park, as this was the only section open at the time, unlike the summer when the whole park is open. After watching a TV advert for Drayton Manor's Magical Christmas we decided that our daughter Holly nearly 4 would love the day out and as the price would shoot up after 20th December when Holly would be 4 we decided to go that weekend. The Magical Christmas is geared up for children under the age of 9 and is based mainly in Thomas Land. The park opens at 12 pm and closes at 6pm weekends and 5pm weekdays with the car park open from 11.30. The site is easy to find using satnav, unless you have our one which sent us down the wrong way of a one way unmade road to the back entrance! It is situated just off the A4091 off the A38...

Excellent Manor's Drayton

...The school holidays are always a bit of a bugger. Where can you take children aged fourteen, eleven, nine and four and guarantee that they will all enjoy it? After much pondering and googling we decided that Drayton Manor was the only theme park within striking distance that seemed to have something for everyone. Not that one hour and fifty minutes is particularly within striking distance. It is one hell of a dull journey from Liverpool along the M6 and it came as a bit of a shock when we got to the M6 toll; Four quid each way the robbing buggers! Nonetheless, several pee and tea breaks later we arrived at Drayton Manor and the site really is quite expansive. Smack bang in the middle of Tamworth it is a huge park. ...Drayton Manor theme park Tamworth Staffordshire Opens 10.30 am Closes 6pm ( 5pm off peak ) After a good few years a friend and myself took my kids and their friend to Drayton manor Park for the day. I was pleasantly surprised on how much the place had changed, so much more to see and do, the kids were just dying to be let loose on the big rides. ( So was my friend ). You can get here by your car or you can actually go by a day trip with a club i know that harry shaw sometimes goes but i dont no when they run the day trips. I have been to drayton manor so many times since the age of ten every year that i have been going there is a new ride everytime. It is a great place for all ages and theres so many rides aswel. The rides dont open till 10.30am but it is easier to go early so you can get in the queue for the rides so you dont miss your turn on the ride. Drayton Manor - Family Fun!

Advantages: Unique rides, fun for kids.

...Drayton Manor Theme Park is set near Tamworth in Staffordshire which first opened it's gates all the way back in 1949. The theme park is home to many thrilling and unique rides as many of it's rides hold the title of 'Only... in the world/ Europe' which gives this theme park a bit of an edge over others. I visited Drayton Manor last year and it was my first trip to a theme park of any kind and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately we didn't get around to going on any of the big rollercoasters due to insufficient time and long queues. I hope I can go back again some day and try them but until then I can describe them at least. ...We took our young son to Drayton Manor last week primarily to visit Thomasland. My wife and I are not particularly keen on theme parks but it seemed like a good idea with it also having a zoo and some rides specifically suited to that age group. It was very much a mixed day and we left the place thinking we probably would not return any time soon. The good points are definitely the speed with which we got into the park. For some reason we were unable to get tickets prior to the day so we had to wait by the coach while the organisers got them. Still once we were sorted it was a quick trip across a car-park (crossing a busy entrance road but there was someone stopping the traffic) and then to the main entrance. However a few years ago when I re-discovered Drayton Manor Theme Park all that looked set to change. Drayton Manor is located in Tamworth, Stafordshire, West Midlands. If you don't want to drive down yourself, I know that there's a few bus routes that take you there although you'd have to check your local bus station to see if it's available to you. ...I recently went to Drayton Manor park (30th April 2005) and it was a brilliant day out. Went with a group of people my age (14) and not one person complained about anything all day. This theme park is probably suitable for all the family, went with my family a few years back and they all enjoyed it too. With a new ride opening in July this year, then is probably the best time to go, but watch out for the crowds! - It will be packed when the new ride opens, so try and delay your visit to a few weeks after July. The Rides- Whiteknuckle- Apocalypse- This ride is a drop tower similar to the old 'playstation:the ride' at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. This is, without a doubt, the best ride in the park.
