Adobe Dreamweaver - fantastic bit of software!

Advantages: easy to use, code hinting, loads of useful features
Disadvantages: sometimes is a bit tempremental

...Adobe Dreamweaver is one of the best web design programs of all time, or at least that's what I think. I started using Dreamweaver as the designer of my site, never venturing into the code side of things. Dreamweaver is great when it comes to this, the new CS4 interface makes everything so much easier to get to. It is so simple that you can have a table based template set up in no time! However, when I started looking into making my site a little better and nicer looking, I came accross CSS. When I started using this coding language, I knew nothing about it, however when I opened up a blank CSS document, I noticed that when I typed I got suggestions of what could be put in. Dreaming of Dreamweaver

Advantages: It's got everything
Disadvantages: Some less advanced users will find it hard to use

...If you don't own this programme, then you haven't lived. Its not just the fact you can create web sites with this high grade programme its also, the fact that you can also manipulate codes and CSS, making this the number one for any programmer or web designer. The other programmes that you get with it includes Flash (for creating fls. files like animation and flash) to add to the main site or just create games to give to your friends. Other programmes including a databasing programme that allows you to input passwords and members into your site to make exclusive access to certain users. Back to Dreamweaver even if you haven't got a clue about CSS or HTML coding, not to worry because just like MS Publisher you can create using a design view, allowing you to create layers and put pictures and text among other things. Review of Dreamweaver MX Complete package

Dreamweaver CS4 web design software Easy peasy!

Advantages: easy to use interface, useful tip's, easy to learn, very professional
Disadvantages: price.... very expensive.

...I have been using Dreamweaver now for just over 2 years, i brought the how to do everything with Dreamweaver book, read it and then went out and brought the software. I was amazed at how easy the interface was to use and found the tip's and help buttons like a book on their own. It's an incredible piece of software and not just for proffesional web designers, you can be a total novice and create an excellent website. It really is simple, so if you are worried about buying the software before reading a massive book then don't. Just go out, buy it and play around with it. You will be amazed at how easy and basic it is to learn this software. Dreamweaver Top Notch Web Design

Advantages: This program writes the html using a wysiwyg get system saving time

Dreamweaver is a dream

Advantages: All encompassing package with access to a network of extra features. Easy to start but indepth enough for the seasoned pro.
Disadvantages: Expensive there's no denying it and much more complicated than Frontpage

Dreamweaver 3 Bible

Advantages: Extremely through and easy to read
Disadvantages: A lot to take in, but if you use it more as a reference book rather than one to read and learn you should be ok

...I'm fairly new to Dreamweaver, and just getting the hang of the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) aspect of Dreamweaver is hard, when I've been writing in HTML for years. However, I decided to buy the Dreamweaver 3 Bible, as although I was producing moderatly decent webpages with Dreamweaver, I had the strangest feeling that I was missing out on something..... It turns out I was! However I was fazed, and still am by the size of the book (over 2 inches thick!), I found the easiest way was just to skim the book, then when there was somthing I wanted to do in particular, just look up that topic. The book explains it all very easily and clearly with good screen shots where needed. A CD-ROM is also included with a trial of Dreamweaver (in case you haven't already got it), Flash4 and Fireworks3, as well as over 300 dreamweaver...

Dreamweaver is great

Advantages: Many advnced styles, perfection designing

...After learning basic and some advanced HTML I looked at WYSIWYG editors to do all the HTML for me. The first one I got was Microsoft Frontpage 2000 it was great as I was a beginner but it didn't perform well with more complex stuff. Dreamweaver settled my hunger for more, theres loads of advanced options and scripts, styles behaviours and other stuff to help you create great looking websites. Every website can be created to precise perfection, its an expensive product but worth the money. Good: Loads of styles and advanced HTML options. RAW HTML is good. Works well with fireworks and Flash. Bad Can edit or delete/add things without you telling it to and without you knowing until you publish it, it has a tendency to add line breaks. Expensive Overall: Better for more advanced designers, probably the best package out there....
