Batiste Dry Shampoo - a good product for hair emergencies!

Advantages: Makes hair look clean; excellent value; doesn't irritate scalp.
Disadvantages: Leaves an unpleasant deposit; hair doesn't 'feel' as clean as after a wash.

...I am a bit of a slave to my hair as it needs washing every day. Although some hair stylists don't recommend daily washing, I think some peoples' hair just needs it, and I'm one of those people. If you have a morning when you're in a real rush, washing and drying your hair can be too time-consuming. It can be much quicker to pop a shower-cap on and have a quick shower without having to deal with shampooing, conditioning and using a hairdryer for 20 minutes - but I never feel clean and presentable if my hair looks a little bit greasy. I bought Batiste Dry Shampoo ('original' scent) from my local chemists' for rushed mornings such as those. It cost just £2.07 so I could afford to experiment with it. Advantages: Smells great, makes greasy hair look fabulous, can be used to create killer styles!
Disadvantages: Runs out too quickly, can leave a gritty feeling in the hair.

...Ok so this is my first review on here and I think it's appropriate that I write about a product that people should be wary of, but should be in every girl...and boy's handbag! I had an aversion to dry shampoo as I had always associated it with people who could not be bothered to wash their hair, or just dirty people in general! That was a little bad of me and I am ashamed! Washing your hair regulary can be very bad for it indeed, depending on what sort of hair you have, some people can get away with washing it as often as they please and other poor souls get left with dry brittle hair if they so much as wash it more than once a week. A Very Very Good Hair Day!

Cheap and cheerful dry shampoo for those bad hair days

...The aim of a dry shampoo is that it acts as a pick me up to hair between washes. This particular brand I picked up in Boots and is usually priced around £1.99 for a 150ml aerosol. Now I have A LOT of hair, its long and thick and consequently gets in the way a lot of the time. I espeially have an awful habit of pushing back the front, which means that I often have normal hair except at the roots and in hot weather my hair tends to stick to where I sweat...lovely! So I needed a product that stopped me from washing my hair twice a day and this seemed to do the trick. The packaging is a yellow tin with some tropical leaves (as this is the tropical version) and does look very appealing for someone who is going on holiday as this is the time when you get the worst greasy roots and where hair suffers most. Definitely puts you in a holiday...

Great for short thin hair

Advantages: Heat very quickly
Disadvantages: Unable to cope with my thick hair

...I bought these recently as I cannot live without my older larger plated GHD's and thought that these would be a handy alternative. They do heat in under 3 seconds and have the same excellent ceramic plates as the larger version, however I found them very time consuming. I have very thick hair about shoulder length and unlike their larger cousins they were unable to straighten as effectively . On saying that they were brilliant on my fringe. I would recommend these to anyone with shorter or thin hair. A fashion conscientious male friend of mine used these and loved them and were perfect for his short hair. I would recommend using the straightening oil with these as they are very hot and I did find a few burnt strands of hair ....

Is dry, frizzy hair in fashion yet?

Advantages: Has a pleasant smell, that you don't get from other 'anti dandruff' shampoos.
Disadvantages: Made my hair, dry and frizzy.

...'Head & Shoulders' is a famous brand I thought it was worth another try. I paid £1.49 for a 400ml bottle. Back home, I decide to try this straight away. When I washed my hair, the shampoo formed a rich creamy lather, and the smell was surprisingly pleasant! After rinsing out the shampoo, I applied my normal conditioner to my hair. After drying off my hair I looked in the mirror, I started to panic, my hair was really dry and frizzy, worse than it has ever been!! I went back into the bathroom, wet my hair, and applied a generous amount of conditioner, I left this in for 15 minutes, in the hope of 'repairing' the damage this shampoo had done to it. This was not enough, my hair was still as dry and frizzy as before. It took a few conditioning treatments to get my hair back to normal! Needless to say, the shampoo was thrown in...

...So on the back of the bottle is a paragraph listing everything the product is supposed to do. Lets see if it's true... *Has a refreshing fragrance* Batiste has a range of different smelling dry shampoos - the tropical smells coconutty...(: - but the original smells like oranges, which I wasn't expecting because it doesn't say anywhere that it will smell orangey - but it was a nice surprise, all the same. I wouldn't exactly say it smells refreshing of all things but it is a nice smell, and I guess the majority of people would like it. Not too feminine for if males want to use it, too. *Restores greasy, dull and lifeless hair between washes.* You have to spray in your hair at a 30cm distance (unless you want a big white patch of hair that doesn't brush out, which is not a good look!) and then massage and brush out - quite easy to do...

Advantages: Soft, moisturised, glossy hair in 5 minutes

Advantages: heats up quickly! straightens, curls and creates waves! turns off automatically if left on!!
Disadvantages: can't straighten when hair is wet

...has been switched on, I literally wait about 1 minute and it?s burning hot, ready for use! Another good thing is that it has a safety element, in which it detects if the straighter has been left switched on! So after a while, it cools down automatically! None of that ?have I left the straighters on?? nonsense, that everyone seems to worry about!! All in all, the only down side is that you can?t use it on wet hair, which just means you need to invest in a good hairdryer to use beforehand (if you?re not into letting it dry naturally!).
