...Ok so this is my first review on here and I think it's appropriate that I write about a product that people should be wary of, but should be in every girl...and boy's handbag! I had an aversion to dry shampoo as I had always associated it with people who could not be bothered to wash their hair, or just dirty people in general! That was a little bad of me and I am ashamed! Washing your hair regulary can be very bad for it indeed, depending on what sort of hair you have, some people can get away with washing it as often as they please and other poor souls get left with dry brittle hair if they so much as wash it more than once a week. If you like me are in the middle then you should wash your hair once or twice a week. When you do wash it you will find that the longer you have gone without putting shampoo on it the better it will...

Advantages: A fab product which leaves hair looking great
Disadvantages: None at all

...I was having a really bad hair day a couple of weeks ago, though it was my own fault as the night before I hadn't washed my hair out of laziness! I have the type of hair which does need washing on a daily basis or else it looks greasy, dull and lifeless the day after. My hair was that bad due to it not being washed that it made me feel really awful and self conscious. A work colleague recommended that I try Batiste Dry Shampoo for such occassions. I took her advice and purchased a bottle from Tescos on my next shopping trip. I paid £1.99 for a 150ml cannister, which I thought was quite good value for money. The cannister itself is a bright yellow colour with a jade green plastic lid. The cannister is re-cycleable and is found amongst the normal shampoos on the shelves. Batiste Dry Shampoo - a good product for hair emergencies!

Advantages: Makes hair look clean; excellent value; doesn't irritate scalp.
Disadvantages: Leaves an unpleasant deposit; hair doesn't 'feel' as clean as after a wash.

...I am a bit of a slave to my hair as it needs washing every day. Although some hair stylists don't recommend daily washing, I think some peoples' hair just needs it, and I'm one of those people. If you have a morning when you're in a real rush, washing and drying your hair can be too time-consuming. It can be much quicker to pop a shower-cap on and have a quick shower without having to deal with shampooing, conditioning and using a hairdryer for 20 minutes - but I never feel clean and presentable if my hair looks a little bit greasy. I bought Batiste Dry Shampoo ('original' scent) from my local chemists' for rushed mornings such as those. It cost just £2.07 so I could afford to experiment with it. Cheap and cheerful dry shampoo for those bad hair days

Advantages: Does what is says it does, cheap
Disadvantages: Leaves my hair a little dull

...The aim of a dry shampoo is that it acts as a pick me up to hair between washes. This particular brand I picked up in Boots and is usually priced around £1.99 for a 150ml aerosol. Now I have A LOT of hair, its long and thick and consequently gets in the way a lot of the time. I espeially have an awful habit of pushing back the front, which means that I often have normal hair except at the roots and in hot weather my hair tends to stick to where I sweat...lovely! So I needed a product that stopped me from washing my hair twice a day and this seemed to do the trick. The packaging is a yellow tin with some tropical leaves (as this is the tropical version) and does look very appealing for someone who is going on holiday as this is the time when you get the worst greasy roots and where hair suffers most. Definitely puts you in a holiday...

Advantages: Handy, pleasent smell
Disadvantages: Longer to brush product through on dark hair

...I first started using this product when I was a teenager and now I try have a can in incase of a bad hair day emergency. My hair is naturally thick and wavy and takes ages to dry and style, so I find Batiste useful if I don't have time to wash my hair and I'm going out. The packaging is fairly simple and old fashioned looking and the product itself has a pleasent, clean smell. You apply it like a hairspray and the product goes on as a fine powder which you brush through your hair. My hair is currently brunette so I find I need to spend more time brushing it through than when my hair was blonde, however it's quicker and easier to brush this product through the hair than talc....

...I love this stuff!!!! It is literally a godsend!!!!! I first came across it when I was in school, I found I didn't have time to have a shower everymornign before school and wash my hair as it took half an hour to drydue to its thickness, and I just didnt have time, so when I found this, it meant I could just have a body shower before shcool and throw this on my hair if it needed it. (My hair gets very greasy very quickly so washing it the night before, the next morning it wouldn't look fresh!!!). Batiste Dry Shampoo is £1.79 (approx) from Body Care, and other various shops (Boots/Superdrug). And its basically like "talcing your hair", not sure if anyone knows abiut that??? ...I've been looking for a dry shampoo like this for a while but thought they were all out of my price range, as I didn't want to spend a fortune on something that wasn't any good. That was until I saw a review on here, stating how good it was and also the price - £1.99. For this price, I thought you couldn't go wrong really, because if it ended up being rubbish, it hasn't exactly made me skint, so I thought... why not? I read some more reviews on it, and the majority of them had got 4 to 5 stars. So the next day I went in to boots, and searched the store for it. Once I had found it, it was priced at £2.09, so me, being the cheap skate that I am, went across to Superdrug and found it in there for £1.99. It's in a srapy can in a similar size to hairspray with a pull-off lid and comes in a 150ml size can, but I don't think you can buy...

Batiste Dry Shampoo - Grease be gone!

Advantages: Really works, cheap, easy to use/apply, takes away grease
Disadvantages: Can used up too quickly

...My hair is quite greasy so I have found the most fantastic product to take care of it. Often I do not want to wash my hair everyday as I have spent ages straightening it etc, the day before and wanted something that would help with the grease when I came across Batiste Dry Shampoo. It says on the can, "refreshes and revitalises hair between washes." It comes in a 150ml spray can. I always buy mine in Boots where it costs £2.09 per can. This is good as I have seen some other dry shampoo's out there from places such as Bumble and Bumble that cost upwards of £20. When you spray it onto your hair it comes out in a fine mist much like the consistency of talcum powder. To use you shake the can first, hold the nozzle a little way away from your hair and then spray lightly onto your hair, concentrating on all the greasy areas. Beware...

Best budget dry shampoo

Advantages: Good price
Disadvantages: As with any - spray too close and you get white hair

...I used this from a recommendation and have the normal one and the tropical scented one. I would recommend the normal one more so as the other one although it smells lovely smells quite strong and every time you move your head/hair you get a strong smell of coconuts - this might be ok for you but might clash with perfume! As with most dry shampoos if you use it too close to your head then you will end up with white roots but if you follow the instructions then you should be ok! I have used other more expensive ones and do not find much of a difference between those and this one. It came to me quite highly recommnded for the price and I would say exactly the same - if you want a budget one this does the trick and you may even find it works better than some more expensive ones....

Dry Shampoo??

Advantages: good for lazy people! smells good too.
Disadvantages: can make your hair look a bit grey!lol

...RRP £2.99 but it sells for around £2 in Superdrug and supermarkets. I have the 'Tropical' fragranced one, beautiful smell! not as retro as the original but never mind lol. They've also just brought put a new fragrance 'Blush' which smells fruity, lovely too! and its in a pink can! But the Tropical one is my favourite, smells of coconuts and reminds me of holidays. OK, enough about the fragrance, this miracle product is great, handy sized can you can take to work in your handbag to revitalise your hair before a big night out. Makes you feel clean, like you've just washed your hair. Also great for hangover hair, you know when your hair smells horrible after a night out well one spritz of this on your roots, leave 2 mins brush out and ta-da, lovely smelling clean non greasy hair. No one would guess you've had 2 hours...
