... How I Discovered It I knew about the DS like most other people, through word of mouth. I never had the desire to buy one until the beginning of 2008 when for some strange reason I set my heart on getting one. I think it was because I had seen the adverts for brain training on the tv a lot at this point, they were on almost every day. Then I played on my friends step-mums DS and that was it, my mind was made up, I had to have a DS, all I had to do was figure out how I was ever going to afford one. Price and Availability The DS Lite on it's own is generally £99.95 on it's own in most shops, obviously on some online shops/auction sites you can find it cheaper, but generally the cheapest I've seen it sell for is around £50. DS Lite!

Advantages: Fun, easy to use, great features, great games!
Disadvantages: Once you pick it up its hard to put down

...I own 2 DS Lites, my son has one and my partner does, they come in a great range of colours Black,White,Pink and the newer Blue. The touch screen on them is great, it makes the games so much more fun and with games like super mario you get mini games that all use the touch screen and they are great fun. As for the size of it well i carnt complain its small quite slim and light! hence the name. As for the age recomended on these my son has had one since last christmas and at the time he was 3! and after about a day learnt how to use it better than me lol. some games can be akward for smaller children but the likes of super mario, mario kart, shrek,cars ect are great for them. ...What a fun little gadget. It's small but lovely. Its just what you expect from Nintendo. It's very small, but the screen is very clear to see. Its very easy to use, so it a good little tool to keep the kids quite for a little while. The DS, has been out a while now, so there are plenty of games for it, which range from around a fiver to about £25. Its also touch screen which makes this little thing a bit more entertaining. The price for these little bad boys is relatively good value for money, so if you have an extra bit of cash lying around and you feel that your a bit bored, then I would recommend that you get one of these little toys to keep you entertain for hours on end. ...I had one of these for about a year until I sold it off for an Xbox 360 (good decision). I found the DS Lite has very good wireless play for friends in the area with one of them. The chat rooms are also quite useful if you are on a trip with several friends. As I found out, on a ski trip, I spent about 3 hours on the DS racing about 10 other people in Mario Kart; its a brilliant way to pass a journey. However, equally, it is also fun offline. ...This was bought for my son for a birthday present last year, I paid £109 for the DS, accessory kit and the game that came with it was Cars. I was not sure if he would be impressed with it or not (as he can be hard to please sometimes, like most kids these days) but as it turned out he was over the moon and I must add so was I , as I to, enjoy playing it.
