...something its not. They have been built the same way for decades and Marshall stick to what they know best. The DSL 50 has that unmistakeable Marshall sound and I absolutely love it! In my opinion, this amp performs best when the raw sound of the amp is left to come through, uncoloured by FX pedals. The clean setting is warm and full bodied and just sounds awesome. I've previously used a fender twin and although that clean sound was superb there is something about the marshall that i just feel more confident with, but that's all down to personal preference. With the 'Deep' switch on, the clean can be a little bass heavy for my liking but its in no way flabby or muddy, just a bit too warm. An excellent modem

Advantages: reliable, fast

...My ZOOM 56K V90 Dual Modem has been the best modem I have ever had. When I purchased a new machine it came with its own PCI modem, however this soon came out and was replace with my trusty zoom when I started getting cut off from my ISP. I regularly axchieve speeds of up to 52K and with a usual connection at 49,333 bps. The modem is fitted internally and has been in service now for almost 2 years without any sign of breakdown. Trusty, reliable and fast are the best way I can describe it. With a Flash Circuit I can even upgrade it should the need arise. A great modem at a very reasonable price. Customer support is excellent too....

...Another review from me for a discontinued item, but may be useful if you're loking to pick up a bargain item on ebay... The D-Link DSL-504 ADSL Router has a built-in ADSL modem - plugs directly into your ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line)-enabled phone line, and with its 4 port 10/100Mbps ethernet switch, allows connections to lots of things (check out my other reviews for what it's connected to...). The DCHP server allows automatic allocation of IP addresses to all your network gubbins too - although I've set the IP's for my wireless accesspoint & print server to allow easier access to their brower based interfaces. The DSL-504 has a browser admin interface too for easy installation and setup, just type in the IP address (the default 192.168.0.1, as with most routers, but if it's changed you can always use the command line...

Advantages: Simple set up, price, no drivers to mess with, no gimmicks
Disadvantages: very minor compatibility issues

...I needed an ethernet modem to allow "always on" connection for my Apple Airport network. Up till now I've been using a Speedtouch USB and internet sharing to the wireless network via the attached computer. The disadvantage here was that this computer needed to be left on as long as an internet connection was required. I chose the 320T because it was simple, reasonably future proof (ADSL2/+) and I didn't need a wireless router. I got a good deal (under £15) from a reputable eBay powerseller on this item and after a couple of minor issues I'm now happy with its performance and stability. First problem was a software compatibility issue with Airport. I could get the modem to work through the ethernet connection on the computer but not the WAN port on my Airport Extreme base station. D-Link DSL-2542B - router is a HOT buy !

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: It does not work correctly - at least mine

...Purchased it from Amazon and tried on our line. Main problem was: disconnecting! ADSL is perfectly fine and I am also an IT Technician. Old modem and others 'still' work fine and they are back in place. I was trying to modernise and get ready for ADSL2 an this modem should have worked fine on normal ADSL too and it gets dangerously hot in my view and after 2 emails with D-Link they did not reply any more to me avoiding the problem. So, I sent it back to Amazon and asked for a full refund - not Amazon fault and thinking that it was at 'only' £. 24.99 and no postage, that should have been a warning ! I hope for D-Link sake, it was only mine faulty and it is not a normal way or working for this modem. It does not mean other modems are faulty, mine was and I asked D-Link to send one out (just the modem) and pick up...
