...This is an ideal portable console/MP3 Player and MP4 Player for all. Since having the PSP I no longer find myself bored whilst on the train to work. I generally use it for gaming and watching movies. The gameplay/graphics are awesome for such a small device. The added bonus of the PSP is that you can switch it off and when you switch it back on again it allows you to play where you left off even if this is half way through a football match.
As for movie capability, this is straight forward. As long as you have a large enough memory card, you can load MP4 files and watch movies on the go with the PSP.
I don't really use the PSP as an MP3 player as it's a little too bulky for the pocket. I don't think this is the main benefit of the PSP but the option's there.

When i recived my play station portable in the post i wasn't sure whether or not it would satisfy expetation, but IT BLEW ME AWAY with all the games, movies, music, photos and INTERNET. At first i just played on the games completing them as normal but then internet came into the equation and gaming as i knew it changed forever. Ad hoc mode (local gaming) this means that you can connect with friends from a close range, on most games you get more game modes in Ad hoc mode. Then there is the new mother of gaming Infrastructure mode which allows you to play with whoever you want to around the globe.

Photo Viewer You can view most photographic formats on the psp and if you have a sony cybershot camera all you do is pop out the card put it in your psp and the photos just appear. You can even send photos from one psp to another like a mobile phone.
Music Player: Your basic mp3 player with a cool visualizer feature. There isn't much to say about this apart from the folder option, which is basically like an mp3 players folders.
RSS Channel: One of my most used features, you find an audio/video rss channel (NOT news or text channels) Once you have found the channel, you add it then you can stream music/audio or download videos, you can also set a timer so that at a certain time every day the psp will turn on and start downloading your channel.

I was soon gripped though on playing with the buttons and the games that came with it, Pretty soon the PSP never left my hands, I found it easy to use and all the functions were simple, even for someone as simple as me. The battery life on my PSP was fantastic and it kept me entertained for many hours on long journeys, I found the DVD Quality to be good although the DVDs themselves can be slightly pricey. I owned the PSP For 2 weeks before I found any problems with it, I was in the middle of a standard game, and it stopped working, It came up with an error saying the Disc could not be read. Nothing worked to fix it, It hadn?t been dropped or anything - I was mighty disappointed...

...I love my PSP, but I'm still playing games I bought 2 or 3 years ago for my original PSP-1000. For a new user, especially, the lack of new games is enough to make anyone worry about investing in one.
The 4.3-inch LCD wide screen remains, and it's been tweaked. Sony says the new screen now delivers better color reproduction, reduced glare, and reduced "ghosting" on high-motion scenes. When compared with the 2000, the PSP 3000 does, indeed, deliver better color vibrancy (you can toggle between "wide" and "standard" color in the options to see the difference). As for glare reduction: we didn't find there to be a huge difference. Don't expect to play in direct sunlight, for instance. But you might have better luck with fewer distractions from indoor light sources....

First off the PSP is the best handheld console out there at the moment. Mine rarely leaves my side as it can play music, store pictures, play games, surf the internet wirelessly, play movies and many more things. PRICE
The price of the PSP and its accessories have dropped alot since the inital release so now is a good time to get one. When the PSP was launced just over a year ago now it was around £180-£250 depending on how many extras you wanted. The Memory cards have also come down in price, almost by half (The 1GB ((gigabyte) memory card was about £80 - £100 but is now around £50)) as have the UMD movies.
