...BALI AND NUSA DUA, KUTA
I went to Bali in September 2002 and we stayed in the tourist region of Nusa Dua, which is only about 15 minute drive from DENPASAR, Kuta Airport. The hotel we stayed at was called Melia Bali which is one of the top hotels on the Island.
Before I tell you more about my experience here I would like to tell you all about the VOA which stands for Visa on Arrival and you will have to pay for this on arrival and is available to the following countries,
Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Advantages: All the Luxuries of a Western 5 Star Hotel Disadvantages: Not Quite the 'Real' Bali
...My husband and I stayed at the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel - the original Hotel/Spa on Nusa Dua Beach - for a few nights at the end of a four-week-long stay in Bali, and it was gorgeous. It is a great place to experience Balinese hospitality.
Nusa Dua Beach Hotel is nicely located, about twenty minutes' drive from the airport in Denpasar on the southern peninsula of Bali, and within reach of the major tourist attractions. I recommend arranging transportation through the hotel, however; on arrival in Denpasar we were confronted by a number of different taxi drivers, so finding transport isn't an issue; however prices tend to be a little less competitive.
We were staying in an exclusive wing of the hotel, called the 'Palace Club', which meant that we checked in at a separate lounge, where we were offered a refreshing fruit drink and cold...
Advantages: PARADISE FOUND Disadvantages: A LITTLE REMOTE FROM THE "REAL BALI"
...My husband and I won a trip to Bali worth £2,000 and, after choosing our dates, the Melia Bali hotel was offered to us for 11 nights. We've never stayed 5* before, so I'm sure you can understand how excited we were when we finally arrived in Nusa Dua, to see our hotel.
Well, we weren't disappointed. The drive went past palm trees and fountains, and when we pulled up outside the hotel, a beautifully dressed young woman leapt forward to open the door of our taxi. We were escorted into the reception area where we were given a cocktail and cold towels to refresh ourselves.
The room was a good size, the balcony was large, and the bathroom had all you could want, including bottled water.
The public areas were all built in Balinese style - no walls, and no ceilings, just very high rooves, designed to allow plenty of air flow...
Advantages: ummm...the nasheed medley! some tracks meaningful... Disadvantages: waste of money on most tracks
...'Allah
The lyrics are quite ok for this one....beat is good, and the message is pretty clear - to ask for forgiveness from God and keep on the right track.....
Track 4 - DuaDua is Hindi word which means prayer.
Well about the track - hmmm im not so sure...beatboxing in the background...singing isn't brilliant, and the tune is much worse...i think they couldve made up another tune that would bring out the meaning of the song more.
Track 5 - Nasheed Medley
I ABSOLUTELY love this one!!! the drums in the background just top off the excellent, melodious singing and again the harmonies are great!
Track 6 - Palestine
This reminds of N-Sync...if you remember them days!!! beat could be better but the lyrics are ok - it talks about the reality of the things going on in palestine, the effect it has had on people living there and also...

Review of 786 - 786
Advantages: Fantastic Disadvantages: long way away!
...I visited Bali last September with my boyfriend. We chose to stay in Sanur (south of Denpasar airport) in the Hotel Sanur Beach (4*). We took a taxi from the airport which was extremely cheap and I would recommend this over prebooking an expensive transfer as the Balinese were very friendly and helpful. Sanur is the perfect beach destination in Bali, it's a lot quieter than Kuta and not as exclusive as Nusa Dua. There are numerous craft shops, stalls and cafes along the streets of Sanur and not very much traffic. The weather was perfect and the ambience was relaxed. Bali itself is paradise, idyllic scenery and beautiful flora.
It's possible to do various watersports along the beach and many of the big hotels have there own facilities. We were not short of things to do, but I would recommend Sanur for a relaxing, chilled...

Review of Sanur (Bali)
Advantages: Spacious rooms, En suite, Fantastic service Disadvantages: High prices
...) then it is well worth it as all guests also get to take free advantage of the swimming pool and health spa area attached to the hotel. Well worth the money if you have it.
I would also like to add that anyone who has enough money to stay at this hotel would be very unlikely to want to take a public transport option, but if they do, theres a bus every 5 minutes at a bus stop right outside. The hotel is situated on a dua carriageway, about 5 minutes drive from Oldham Town centre, and about 20-25 minutes drive from Manchester City Centre. It is however only about a 10 minute drive from the M60 ring road, so well worth looking at with good local infrastructure. Only about a 10 minute walk from Oldham Mumps train station...

Review of Avant Hotel
Advantages: An idylic island paradise Disadvantages: Check with the foreign office for travel recommendations due to terriorist threats
...we got in l may add - but you will find such cheap in comparison to western standards - approximately £15 for our cab and the trip to our hotel which was off the Nusa Dua peninsula took around half an hour. This is where you get your first glimpse of Bali - well it is mainly roads with families whizzing past you on motorcycles - weaving in and out - horns blaring. It is chaotic and lm not a great passenger at the best of times l must say but l soon got used to it! It might sound all aggressive as a horn blares and a motorcycle skims by your cab - but then you get a huge grin a friendly wave and their off again. Another lovely thing we noticed was if stopped at lights and a family (mummy daddy and a couple of kids) on a bike pulls along usually the kids start to grin and wave profusely - it's so sweet and welcoming and brings a smile to...
