...I've wanted a DVD player that was capable of playing DivX files for a while because of all my anime and por...errr....other video files..., but the players cost more than normal DVD players so resisted for a while. I've seen brands such as KISS and Yamada but later came across this DK Digital DVD-500 DivX DVD player after the prices have dropped. It only cost £41.98 (61.52 Euros) from SVP Communications (AKA Blank Disc Shop). -= The Player =- The player looks sleek with a black and silver design. Black at the front with silver at the top and bottom curving in towards each other at the middle, which I think looks really good. The player itself looks quite durable and the tray isn't flimsy like some I've seen. The LCD display shows the numbers in green and other details such as TRK, DVD, etc in red. Review of DK Digital DVD-500 DivX DVD player

DVD's a Plenty!!!

Advantages: cheap, compact, great bargain

...from around that price and appear still big and bulky. This particular Woolworth?s Worth It DVD player was tiny and looked pretty snazzy in a compact way. So to look at the DVD is a nice silver in colour and is 4cm in height, 20cm in width and 16 cm in length. So as you can tell really the whole system is pretty tiny (especially if you saw our last Liteon DVD recorder which took up a little too much room). There is no display screen on the front of the DVD player and all the buttons are on top of the box instead of usually being at the front. The DVD is placed in a flip open lid that sits on the top of the box and therefore you wouldn?t be able to put anything else on top of this system unlike many other DVD players. However the fact that this box is so tiny and thin I think you would not really want to put anything on top of it...

...A great DVD player with Upconversion to 780p/1080i, HDMI and component video outputs as well as DIVX playback. Pity that it will only play for 60minutes before playback grinds to a halt. I bought this player as I've not long upgraded to a HDTV. I was noticing a bit of picture derogation using my old player (connected via SCART) and decided it was time to upgrade. I was not happy buying a Blue ray or HD DVD player until for format war has finished, so i was looking for a player with HDMI output. ...I've just bought one of these. Oooh it's good. Really good. Here's why. It's a dead cool DVD player which is ideal if you have an HD ready telly and want to really enjoy your DVDs to the full. It has Dolby sound so is great if you hook it up to separate speakers, but pretty good if you don't, too. It comes in silver (well aluminium) or black, and compared to some DVD players it is quite chunky - about the thickness of a video recorder. I don't know why. I forgive it this though, as the picture quality is awesome. Really sharp.
