Advantages: Gives you a good idea of what is in the city
Disadvantages: You have to go at a pace and you do have the feeling of being rushed
...and we lost our booking for the Burk Khalifah and our friend had to get back home before we got there.
Our first stop on the city tour was the Gold Souk in Dubai which is not really that exciting unless you want to buy some jewellery. In reality it is an area of shops all selling jewellery and we had 20 minutes here. We had a very quick look but spent most of the time trying to rearrange our meeting...

Dubai Or Not To Buy?
Advantages: Great weather and food, beaches, malls
Disadvantages: Not always super easy to find a restaurant in some parts of town
...lights or crossings, and driving akin to that found in Rome. None of these materialise, and we easily make our way to our destination, as you would in any other city, arriving in one piece though, in my head at least, also with a newly acquired bit of colour. While Dubai might be too hot for many in the midst of summer, in December time it is a beautiful 30 C, without a cloud in the sky.

From Dubai With Love
Advantages: Dubai is a safe place with very good quality of life. There is universal brotherhood everywhere.
Disadvantages: None for me, but the hot weather for tourists who are not used to this.
