We always go to La Gondola

Advantages: Beautiful food, Temple Bar, outside tables
Disadvantages: price of beer

...Everytime we are in Dublin (1/2 times a year) we go for lunch at La Gondola. After shopping and walking around it is nice to sit outside in Temple Bar and enjoy an Italian lunch. They usually have a special, this time we had soup (really big bowl with fresh baked bread) and a pasta/pizza dish with a soft drink for 9euro. Not bad really. I left half of my soup as I knew how good the lasgne was and didnt want to be full. The beer is a little pricey and pretty much all Italian beers...well we dont go inside really to see the pumps, they might do others. The meal in itself at lunchtime though is good value so he doesnt mind a bit extra for a nice Nastro Azuro. The staff are all Italian - I think - and very friendly. Sometimes the specials board only has one thing on it but you can get any pasta in the deal most days....

Are you a shopaholic?

Advantages: Great prices, good quality plenty of choice
Disadvantages: The layout of most items

...either exchange your goods or get a full refund. It really is that simple. The staff there is really friendly and won't question you or try to sell you something that you do not really want to buy. I have always found them quite helpful when ever I have been there. I would advise though, that if you buy jeans to get a bigger size to what you normally get, as each pair I have bought mu normal size wont fit and have always had to get a bigger size. How do I contact them? ------------------------------- In the UK ------------ Primark Stores Ltd Primark House 41 West Street Reading Berkshire RG1 1TT Email - enquiries@primark.co.uk In the ROI -------------- Primark P.O Box 644 Dublin 1 Ireland Email - enquiries@primark.ie Why would I recommend this shop...

Aer Arann - Flying the way it should be.

Advantages: Fast, Efficient, Friendly, regional, dont charge extra for the things you have to do like check in
Disadvantages: As of 2009 - Luggage allowance.

...smaller planes so they have faster turn around times and they are able to fly to more convenient locations. These planes are modern, with all the latest navigation equipment that you'd expect to see on jet planes, and they are more fuel efficient in their service which can only be a good thing as far as the environment is concerned. I confess to being a bit of a plane enthusiast, and I loved the idea of flying on an ATR-72, my last experience on an ATR-42 was on Ryanair in 1992 when they used to fly from Stansted to Galway directly, and I remember loving the flight then, and this one turned out to be no different. Our flight was due to depart Dublin at 1:15pm and arrive in Galway at 2:00pm. Check In opened 2 hours before the flight and we arrived early because it coincided with our check out of the hotel. Interestingly for a low cost...

Take heed - no need to knead

Advantages: 2 minutes preparation time, dense, moist bread with multigrains
Disadvantages: None

....25 euros, more than I think most of us would like to spend on a single loaf of bread. So am I any nearer my dream? I doubt if I shall ever bake all of my bread, but I keep a packet or two of Odlums in my cupboard so I now never run out. I can enjoy the enticing aroma whenever I please. The REAL Ireland

Advantages: Leprechauns, guinness, arse, feck, drink, girls
Disadvantages: Crime, violence, poverty, racism, sectarianism

...Top of the morning to ya! As an Irishman I know all that's worth knowing about the emerald isle and all the shenanigans that goes on there. I know there have been plenty of reviews by foreigners about my good country, but they can only give you a tourists view. The real Ireland lies beneath the shiny gloss and corporate lies. I'm here to unravel it for you. *What follows is called satire. If you have no sense of humour or just want real information on Ireland you shouldn't bother to read this. This disclaimer is a pre-emptitive strike against people who read the whole thing before commenting "I was expecting a nice review on Dublin."* 1. Myths and legends According to the Irish Tourist Board and Hollywood, Ireland is full of happy-go-lucky-leprechauns (see Darby O'Gill And The Little People). The idea of a mythological Ireland is...

Best value hotel in Dublin

Advantages: Nice Price, Good Quality
Disadvantages: Out of town

...probably pay more than you would by staying at Bewleys, even taking into account the cab fare from the airport & the cabs from the hotel to the Centre & back. AND you may find you have somewhere to stay that is less grand than this place. If you're driving, this hotel is to be recommended even more as there is ample free parking which you will find hard to find in Central Dublin 1 or 2. You won't find Irish Nights or anything like that here, but for comfort, quality of service & value for money, it gets top marks....

Madame Tussaud Lives In The Foyer

Advantages: Keep the kids (and yourself) amused.
Disadvantages: Not as big as Madame Tussauds

.... If this doesn’t take your fancy, there is a separate entrance here that leads instead into the hall of “Megastars”. All the big names are here, including Ireland’s very own super band U2, the Beatles, Madonna, and the King of rock and roll himself, the late, great Elvis Presley. ~ ~ Certainly worth a visit if you’re looking for a way to amuse the kids (and yourself) if you ever find yourself here in Dublin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ National Wax Museum Granby Row, Parnell Square Dublin 1.
