Scone Shoes

Advantages: comfortable, better fitting shoes at reasonable prices
Disadvantages: limited range, most of them are quite ugly

...First let me explain ?scone shoes.? When I first ordered shoes from the Shoe Tailor, experts in wider-fitting shoes, I measured my feet incorrectly and found that the only shoes in their catalogue that would fit me were their widest, ugliest, most orthopaedic, brown, granny shoes: the type you might wear to go out with your friends for a scone, in your later years. Hence my friends groaningly called them my ?scone shoes? and walked several yards behind me on the way to the pub every night. They were very comfy! However, they fell apart after a couple of years of continuous wear, and once gone, same said friends took me shopping to some ?proper? shoe shops in Glasgow and I never once consulted my Shoe Tailor catalogue again. Advantages: well thought out characters and a nice story

...I first read Ballet Shoes when I was eight. It was the first of Noel Streatfield's books I'd read, and it remains my favourite. I put it away during my teenage years and forgot about it until Christmas 2007 when I watched the BBC adaptation with Emma Watson. I went to Indonesia and got the film on knock-off DVD, and immediately after watching I rang home to get my parents to order me a copy. It was a great welcome home. ...As some of you may already be aware, the way to my heart is with handbags and shoes. Large cash deposits are also much appreciated but don?t come along all that often. As far as shoes are concerned, I like pretty shoes, generally with sparkly bits and, ideally, bows. ...We have all heard of the drought conditions that have been experienced in England recently. Unfortunately, although my part of the country is reputed to be "drier than Egypt", this isn't apparent in my garden. Following weeks of rain, the old shoes I had been using outside, finally gave up the ghost and fell apart. My feet were just as wet as they would have been had I been outside with bare feet! This WAS an option - but having seen some of the wildlife that wanders around the garden, NOT something that I chose to do. ...In Her Shoes had been on my to-buy DVD list for some time , and so while I was passing through Woolworths one day , I noticed it was on sale for £5. So I bought it. In Her Shoes stars Cameron Diaz , Toni Collette and Shirley Maclaine. ...I just reviewed The Nanny Diaries which was a book turned film but another which was done like this a few years back was 'In Her Shoes'. It was another book which I had been meaning to read and had literally just seemed to have heard about. Next thing I knew, I was seeing trailers for the film version so yet again I never got round to the book and ended up having to see the film version first. I don't mind watching the films but usually I feel the book makes you use your imagination more and sometimes I miss this. Footjoy AQL Golf Shoes

Advantages: Look nice,
Disadvantages: Only lasted 5 rounds of golf.

...Purchased a pair of these golf shoes three weeks ago on th 29-Sept-2009.Whn they arrived the looked super and just what I wanted smart wee bit flash and Footjoy.After one round of golf they look like my old ones with the white leather across they front creasing badly.I tried puting leather protector on as footjoy said I should,all this has done no good today after five rounds of golf they are starting to split along the bottom.They are now on there way back to the shop who supplied them.(the shop is superb and it is not there fault).In summary there are plenty of very good golf shoes out there unfortunately The Footjoy AQL does not appear to be the best.I do have three other pairs of footjoy shoes which have served me well so this may be just a one off....

They did not like taking me there cos I would scream and scream till I made everyone sick of me. I hated new shoes, I used to be frightened of the machine that measured my feet had to put foot into a box and it gave a sort of x ray picture to measure your foot, it was scary. However mum and dad persisted and I was bought new Clarks shoes. Clark’s shoes were and still are some of the best for little feet. My grandson has a pair. When he gets his feet measured he just has to put his foot on a foot measure and they can see by the markings on the measure what size he needs.
