Cheap and durable
Review of Durabrand CD855 by
surico
Advantages: Reliable, cheap, anti skip system
Disadvantages: Limited uses when compared to newer products
...The Durabrand CD855 was a gift to me and like all gifts I appreciate them ... I mean who doesn't right. When I first saw it I was immediately impressed with the look and slim sleek design of the modal but I have learnt the hard way never to judge a book by its cover. Now with this CD player it is a bit old but still I think it is a good product to use even today. In the past my CD players either skip when I am running or there durability isn't really good. But for me personally I haven't found this to be the case with this modal. I usually go running with this is my pocket and I found it very steady and I feel very comfortable with it in my pocket. Also I have found that t doesn't skip and especially when I am running with it the quality is still there. I have to say I prefer to use this for running because in the past I have used mp3...

Durabrand Durabroke!
Review of Durabrand CD1180 by
piggypine
Advantages: Compact, multifunctional, battery powered as well as mains
Disadvantages: CD player broke
...Durabrand CD1180- The CD1180 is a clock radio complete with CD player, in modern tones of silver grey it is compact and lightweight making it ideal for bedside tables and the like.
There are 3 options for the alarm in regards to what you will here when it goes off at your chosen time, by selecting the appropriate choice with the slide switch on the side of the unit you can either be woken by a buzzer, the radio or the CD that is currently within the player. You can also adjust the volume of the music you will here when the "alarm" goes off by using the basic volume dial (also on the side of the unit) this dial is for general volume control and will also change the volume if you are using the machine as a basic radio or CD player. Setting the alarm is done via the buttons on top of the unit, a simple case of holding down the "clock set...

Very pleased
Review of Liteon LVW-1105 HC by
Albinorhino
Advantages: cheap, many inputs, easy to use and set up
Disadvantages: long finalize and start up times, little choice in chapter length.
...I bought this machine just before my wedding in 2006. I was looking for a budget machine as I did not want to put the big money in for a sony or some other name brand.
I found the liteon for 135 dollars at walmart, 20 dollars more then a durabrand and a magnavox but I knew lite-on, it was the brand of my computers burner.
I bought the machine and right after getting it home I was already impressed, the ease of set up was astonishing. I quickly ran my digital cable box through the machine, ran the machine to my tv using component cables, and attached my dvd player and vcr to the machine using component cables and regular RCA cables.
Other then the component in, and component out as well as the coax in and out and the rca in and out all on the back the machine also has a usb in and rca in on the front which I use for moving content...

Two phones are better than one
Review of Durabrand CA1500 by
supercityfan
Advantages: Cheap, Reliable, Good Reception, Make calls from bottom of garden
Disadvantages: Looks cheap, Only available from Asda
...We have owned a cordless phone with integrated answer phone for a number of years now, but the time had come to upgrade our model. There was nothing wrong with the previous one except my son had tripped up when the aerial was fully extended and he snapped the aerial. I was happy enough to carry on using it having fixed the problem with blu-tac but eventually had to give in to my wifes constant moaning. After all, she uses the phone far more than me.
So why did you opt to buy the Durabrand CA1500 Twin
I hadn't made a conscious decision as to which one to buy, only that we wanted one with an answerphone, because having two small children it isn't always convenient to answer the phone, particularly if batching our one year old. We originally purchased a different make, which just had one telephone, but this had a fault, and we were...

morphy Iron
Review of Morphy Richards 40675 by
tenburyhockey
Advantages: good solid iron
Disadvantages: looks average
...An excellent iron at the right price.
Has all the features that you would expect on an Iron - such as steam system varied temperature control and a water jet.
The different colours provide a personal choice.
The iron does not take long to heat up and is perfectly safe. It has stable connections and doesnot show wigns of overheating.
The iron is solid and shows little sign of wear and tear. The underside is durable and does not leave marks on your clothes.
This is a good make of Iron and is a definate option for people that are looking for a iron that will last and will do its job.
The temperature gauge works correctly - as on some irons previously owned there has been little difference in the control...

that`l be the daewoo!!
Review of Daewoo DLP-17D3 by
lynseyb
Advantages: cute little thing with a brilliant picture
Disadvantages: sound could maybe be slightly louder.
...fastext
1 x scart
sleep timer
Screen size: 17'', Aspect ratio: 16:9, Frequency: 50 Hz, Additional decoders: HDTV Ready.
This can be used as a pc monitor as well as a tv but in my case it was bought solely as a tv.
setting this tv up caused me no problems at all as it has built in auto tuner it was just a case of sticking the arial in and letting the telly do the rest.
the sound isnt quite as loud as it could be and has to be turned up quite far to be heard over any disturbance but it does have connections that would allow it to be connected easily to a home cinema system or amplifier should you require.
The only other sets i had seen around this price range were the durabrand range in asda which look and feel quite cheap and nasty, this tv however as well as looking good also feels very robust and looks much more expensive than...

Good Iron
Review of Rowenta Powerglide DM 233 Iron by
meatchy
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...I Bought The Rowenta. Because I Was Told It Was A Good Iron.
And When I Bought It I Had A 30 Day Return Policy On The Iron.
If It Didn't Work Good, I Could Send It Back. The Vertical Stream
Work Well. The Iron Shout Off Automatic. If The Iron Fall Face
Down, It Cut Off In 8 Sec. If You Forget To Turn It Off Or Unplug
It, It Turn Off In 30 Sec. The Iron Will Just Glide Against The
Clothes. The Steam Works Two Ways. It Has Extra Steam For The Hard
Wrinkles....
