Samsung's Neat Little Netbook

Advantages: Good performance, Good connectivity options, Good webcam, 160GB HDD, Upgradeable
Disadvantages: Not very good accessories, Picks up Fingerprints, Weird button under touchpad

...button under touchpad - Resolution could be higher VERDICT Overall, I think the Samsung NC10 is an excellent laptop. I like the look of it, the performance, the keyboard, the connectivity options and even the battery life. I would prefer for it to have Draft N wireless and maybe for it to be a bit lighter but those are minor niggles. One thing I would have liked is a higher resolution, even if the 1024 x 600 is perfectly usable, a higher one would give more flexibility in how well certain content is displayed on the laptop. i.e. movies, graphics, etc. Those things aside, I would highly recommend the NC10 or even the newer Samsung netbook models that supercede the NC10 (i.e. NC20). Buy an external DVD drive and you can even use it as a normal laptop as the performance is very good for the price. Thanks for reading!...

Samsung but smaller

Advantages: Very compact and lightweight, excellent value for money, great design with brilliant screen
Disadvantages: No dvd drive but this is to save on weight and you can pick up an external one for reasonable

...Having previously had a laptop my wife recently decided to buy a new computer for herself as she felt she was not taking her laptop with her due to size and weight and so decided to opt to pick up the Samsung NC10 netbook. So you may have noticed that this is a netbook and be wondering what this exactly means...a netbook is a smaller, lighter weight laptop that is simply designed to handle internet browsing, e-mail and office software. The question I was asked by my wife before she picked this little gadget up was would this be able to play games? The answer is yes but of a limited variety as this is not designed with the same level of specs in as a normal pc or laptop (you would also need to purchase a cd or dvd drive for if you are looking at playing games that use a cd). Now down to the actual netbook itself...the Samsung is...

Samsung DVD-V6800

Advantages: Few extra features.
Disadvantages: Not enough extra features.

...Remember when a DVD player was just something you shoved a disk in, and it played it (how boring's that?). To compete with the ever expanding market, DVD players are having to multitask more and more. This one seems to be having a go at multitasking but it's as if it's heart isn't really in it. Look and Design Basic is the word. A traditional black look more resembling a video player than a DVD player with nothing flashy or shiny to entertain the easily amused. It's a bit on the bulky side, just like Gordon Brown, (Don't ask me where that joke came from, I have no idea). But then the extra bulk is necessary, unlike Gordon Brown's, in order to incorporate the VHS player. Function We'll it works like any other DVD player, you put a disk in and it plays it. The picture is pretty good by the way. But it...

Samsung NC10 Review

Advantages: Good battery life, nice screen, near enough a full size keyboard
Disadvantages: small-ish trackpad

...I recieved this netbook for christmas and all i can say is 'wow'! My background with computers is vast having built many and installed multiple operating systems on each, however i have never owned a laptop. Therefore i was a little dubious about some of the things such as keyboard size, processing power and battery life. I was looking for a laptop which is very small in physical size while packing a punch so it could still carry out multiple tasks. Buying a full size (15.4") laptop seemed a bit pointlesss as i have two tower pc's which are my main machines, so this was just to be about casual surfing/ reading emails/ browsing while on the move. The Samsung NC10 is in my view one of the very best netbooks out there, the keyboard is just shy of being full size so no cramped typing (this review was written on it) Combine this...

Samsung DVD-HD860

...Here you have the Samsung DVD-HD860. I can find pretty much only good things about this beauty- and yes physically beauty. It looks brilliant. I currently have this set up to my TV in the living room with a home cinema system attached. Setting it up was very easy. Plug the cable into TV, and then just attach speakers from the home cinema system into the back. For 5.1 surround sound it took around 10 minutes. The instruction where very easy to follow. Samsung hits the netbook world for 6

Advantages: sturdy, reliable, quite nippy for a netbook, relativley cheap
Disadvantages: sound, no ssd option, still can't beat the aspire one

...With the netbook market already saturated to the point of that resembling a cat's fur when thrown into a bath (with almost as much fur flying between the competitors), it would seem that we don't need yet another standard netbook joining the ranks. However the samsung NC10 has proven to be a great addition to the market, and managed to undercut nearly all of their major competitors, even if it can't beat the acer aspire one. The NC10 is the usual netbook affair with regards to specs, it is fitted with the defacto standard intel atom, 160GB HDD and 1GB memory, this provides decent performance for all your web application needs and some circa 1999 gaming (no-one buys one for gaming anyway, but you've always got to at least try). It really isn't anything special in this department, but all netbooks are pretty similar anyway. However the nc...

Snap Happy Samsung!

Advantages: Great camera at a great price.
Disadvantages: None at the price, you get a great item for what you pay!

...I bought this camera in ASDA at the incredible price of £75 in a gorgeous chrome silver colour (pictured). I am probably one of the most indecisive shoppers around, so when it came to buying a digital camera, I was thoroughly confused by the choice and newly released technology, meaning every week a new camera with more mega pixels and better zoom and a toaster built in was released! This certainly does not making chosing easy! Well, thanks to the advice of the very helpful assistant in ASDA, I was able to finally decide on the Samsung ES55 and have no regrets! Ok, so how do you chose the right camera for you? It's all about accepting there is SO much variety but making sure you know what you want, that way you can really trim down the choice. Also, pick a reliable brand and as I have been informed, Samsung are one of the best. I had...

Samsung NC10 Black netbook a lightweight and excellent netbook

Advantages: Great screen, excellent battery life,
Disadvantages: Poor speakers, personal headphones or additional speakers definitely help

...I bought my NC10 to replace my laptop which was just too heavy to be carrying to and from work everyday. I purchased my NC10 on a promotion weekend from a high street store beating online prices significantly. I was trying to avoid big bulky items to carry as I was on crutches at the time. Not recommended but straight out of box into my rucksack in the shop from which it was purchased. Didn't notice much weight difference in my bag at all. The Samsung NC10 has served me dilligently now being used more and more instead of my normal laptop as battery life is excellent. I use the NC10 round the house for coursework, work and even during my work lunch. The screen is bright and very easy to read, I primarily use the NC10 at home for surfing the net to shop and for music in the background. I have an extensive playlist on Spotify...

SAMSUNG NP-NC10 Blue Netbook 1.6ghz Atom Processor

Advantages: Robust, Large Keyboard, Large Screen, Good Support.
Disadvantages: 1 Memory Slot, No Mobile Broadband Sim Slot, Specific keyboard key in unusual place.

.... The whole feel and solidity of this netbook, as well as the large keyboard and screen helped to sell this to me. The manual is in electronic form but the netbook comes with all the DVD's necessary to perform a re-installation if you completely mess up. A small portion of the hard drive is reserved for the restore partition as well, so you don't ever need the discs unless of course you upgrade the hard drive or play around partitioning. On initial boot the Samsung software kicks in and asks you to perform a backup of your current system and offers to partition your hard drive for you. I chose the advanced options and allocated all the hard disk as one partition instead of reducing the size for the backup. I did this because I had a USB memory stick and that is where my backup data will reside. I would rather keep maximum space for all my files...

Samsung

Advantages: Samsung
Disadvantages: Samsung

...This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most electronic products, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. I would recommend it. It's a great little device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend. This really is a wonderful piece of kit that should go well with many accessories because it really looks good. However, always think carefully as to whether you actually really need something before you buy it. We buy so many things nowadays that we don't really need. Box Contents Samsung DVD-VR330 DVD Recorder Remote Control (with Batteries) Instruction Manual I would recommend it. Price: £170 approximately at Amazon....
