Samsung's Neat Little Netbook

Advantages: Good performance, Good connectivity options, Good webcam, 160GB HDD, Upgradeable
Disadvantages: Not very good accessories, Picks up Fingerprints, Weird button under touchpad

...button under touchpad - Resolution could be higher VERDICT Overall, I think the Samsung NC10 is an excellent laptop. I like the look of it, the performance, the keyboard, the connectivity options and even the battery life. I would prefer for it to have Draft N wireless and maybe for it to be a bit lighter but those are minor niggles. One thing I would have liked is a higher resolution, even if the 1024 x 600 is perfectly usable, a higher one would give more flexibility in how well certain content is displayed on the laptop. i.e. movies, graphics, etc. Those things aside, I would highly recommend the NC10 or even the newer Samsung netbook models that supercede the NC10 (i.e. NC20). Buy an external DVD drive and you can even use it as a normal laptop as the performance is very good for the price. Thanks for reading!...

Samsung but smaller

Advantages: Very compact and lightweight, excellent value for money, great design with brilliant screen
Disadvantages: No dvd drive but this is to save on weight and you can pick up an external one for reasonable

...Having previously had a laptop my wife recently decided to buy a new computer for herself as she felt she was not taking her laptop with her due to size and weight and so decided to opt to pick up the Samsung NC10 netbook. So you may have noticed that this is a netbook and be wondering what this exactly means...a netbook is a smaller, lighter weight laptop that is simply designed to handle internet browsing, e-mail and office software. The question I was asked by my wife before she picked this little gadget up was would this be able to play games? The answer is yes but of a limited variety as this is not designed with the same level of specs in as a normal pc or laptop (you would also need to purchase a cd or dvd drive for if you are looking at playing games that use a cd). Advantages: Few extra features.
Disadvantages: Not enough extra features.

...also has a few other features including: A VHS tape player. I'm not quite sure why though. The only people who still use VCR are those who can remember when a TV was the latest big thing. And they are not going to buy this, they are too busy telling me how lucky I've got it and how they single handedly stormed the D-Day beaches (Is there a single person over the age of about 80 who doesn't think they won WW2 all on their own?). Oh by the way, for the sake of this review I digged up an old VHS tape and this did play it better than an old VCR would. Basically the ability to play every single format except for blu-ray. As well as the ability to play DivX, MP3, JPEG and WMA files. (They have to be put on a CD or DVD first). It can also timer record. ...I recieved this netbook for christmas and all i can say is 'wow'! My background with computers is vast having built many and installed multiple operating systems on each, however i have never owned a laptop. Therefore i was a little dubious about some of the things such as keyboard size, processing power and battery life. I was looking for a laptop which is very small in physical size while packing a punch so it could still carry out multiple tasks. Samsung hits the netbook world for 6

Advantages: sturdy, reliable, quite nippy for a netbook, relativley cheap
Disadvantages: sound, no ssd option, still can't beat the aspire one

Snap Happy Samsung!

Advantages: Great camera at a great price.
Disadvantages: None at the price, you get a great item for what you pay!

...up to A1/A2 size, I would not notice the difference compared to a cheaper model with slightly less megapixels. Thus, I was directed towards the 10MP Samsung ES55. I had wanted something with excellent picture quality that I could use in low light conditions, taking pictures in clubs and indoors. I would also use the camera to take pictures for my business. But, more poignantly, I needed something cheap! I'm pretty broke and I had expected to fork out quite a lot for a quality camera to meet my requirements. I'm also quite interested in art, so as a hobby, had intended on taking up a bit of photography. Samsung NC10 Black netbook a lightweight and excellent netbook

Advantages: Great screen, excellent battery life,

...I bought my NC10 to replace my laptop which was just too heavy to be carrying to and from work everyday. I purchased my NC10 on a promotion weekend from a high street store beating online prices significantly. I was trying to avoid big bulky items to carry as I was on crutches at the time. Not recommended but straight out of box into my rucksack in the shop from which it was purchased. Didn't notice much weight difference in my bag at all. The Samsung NC10 has served me dilligently now being used more and more instead of my normal laptop as battery life is excellent. I use the NC10 round the house for coursework, work and even during my work lunch. The screen is bright and very easy to read, I primarily use the NC10 at home for surfing the net to shop and for music in the background. I have an extensive playlist on Spotify...

SAMSUNG NP-NC10 Blue Netbook 1.6ghz Atom Processor

Advantages: Robust, Large Keyboard, Large Screen, Good Support.
Disadvantages: 1 Memory Slot, No Mobile Broadband Sim Slot, Specific keyboard key in unusual place.

.... The whole feel and solidity of this netbook, as well as the large keyboard and screen helped to sell this to me. The manual is in electronic form but the netbook comes with all the DVD's necessary to perform a re-installation if you completely mess up. A small portion of the hard drive is reserved for the restore partition as well, so you don't ever need the discs unless of course you upgrade the hard drive or play around partitioning. On initial boot the Samsung software kicks in and asks you to perform a backup of your current system and offers to partition your hard drive for you. I chose the advanced options and allocated all the hard disk as one partition instead of reducing the size for the backup. I did this because I had a USB memory stick and that is where my backup data will reside. I would rather keep maximum space for all my files...

...This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most electronic products, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. I would recommend it. It's a great little device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend. This really is a wonderful piece of kit that should go well with many accessories because it really looks good. However, always think carefully as to whether you actually really need something before you buy it. We buy so many things nowadays that we don't really need.
