...I ordered my Freecom DVD Recorder LS USB 2.0 after my CD/DVD drive packed up on my 15 month old HP Desktop. I wanted it mainly to load CD ROM and burn DVD's from movies already converted to DVD format on my hard drive. Being that my PC had no disk drive I relied upon this external drive to load the bundled DVD burning software (Roxio 9). This took several days and many attempts. Then I tried burning my first DVD. After taking 3 hours to do a task that previously took about 30 minutes, this recorder produced a disc that no dvd player in my home recognised (and I have 4). I found the user interface very unfriendly and it simply didn't work. Needles to say, I'll be getting a refund!...

Ford Focus 2.0 ESP

Advantages: Great driving, reliable car
Disadvantages: Ford service department

...I bought my Ford Focus in June 2006, second hand from Ford with 38,000 miles on the clock. The model I own is a 2.0 ESP facelift, with the revised headlights which include the indicator, revised bumpers with bump strips & revised metal flush skirts. Now, in August 2007 the car is on the brink of hitting 70,000 miles and it literally hasn't missed a beat. The only parts that I have had to replace that are none wear and tear are the thermorstat housing seal (Ford however will try and charge you to replace the whole housing, where infact it is invariably just the rubber seal which perishes), and a n/s/f ball joint due to excessive play when being tested for an MOT, a grand total of about £50 non-expected maintenance. Almost perfection = A 2.0TDI SE review.

Advantages: Size, running costs, Motorway muncher
Disadvantages: Not ideal for Town Driving. Not for 5 large adults.

...Been driving a 2.0TDI SE for the best part of 2 years. I have done about 60,000 miles in the car and have had very few complaints, so lets get them out of the way first. The steering can feel a tad light at high motorway speeds if you are not carrying a lot of weight. The sensitivity of the steering wheel can lead you to contsantly adjust your steering wheel slightly every few seconds. You can however get this adjusted at your dealer (it has six settings). So this is easily fixed. Secondly the button handbrake can take a little getting used to, especially if you do a lot of motorway miles and rarely use it. But thats just because it is a new system, not one that is faulty. Now onto the good points. Cruise control is fantastic. Pull the level to turn on at your current speed. Tap up for 5 more mph and tap down for 5 less mph...

...One of my favourite things to do on the computer is mess about with my photos and videos. A little over a year ago, I decided to try Photos on CD & DVD. The idea of creating slideshows and burning it to DVD to watch on our television screen appealed to me more than fishing out the projector and fiddling about with slides trying to get them the right way up without dropping them! ...Toyota Celica 2.0 GTI 16v 5th generation ST182. British car, not import. The model I?m describing here is a ?K? reg 1993 5th generation, 2.0 16v GTI, 3SGE engined front wheel drive version of this wonderful car; it has 154 BHP on tap and is in a non turbo form. The reason for the GT4 coming about with its 200 odd HP output is because there was too much power for just a 2 wheel drive car to handle, torque steering and wheel spin being major drawbacks to power being put down on the road. Lacie Dual DVD Writer USB 2.0 (Mac and PC)

Advantages: Reliable, well built, works easily.
Disadvantages: Not a speed demon

...The LaCie DVD+/-RW Double Layer Drive USB 2.0 is a very reliable and strongly built machine. I've had it for a few months now and it hasnt let me down yet. I use it weekly to back up my photography files onto dvd and various other documents and it does the job perfectly. Ok, its no speed demon, it took a good 1/2 hour to burn footage of my 1 year old nephew through iDVD but it got the job done and as long as you have the time, its no problem at all. A kool feature is that its basically a 4 in 1 drive. It'll read cd's, write cd's, read dvd's and burn dvd's. The cd thing isnt so great now as most computers come with cd readers and writers built in but its handy to have any way. I love the design of this drive. Advantages: Looks fantastic, build quality, good engine.

...I?ve been the owner of a coupe for 8 months now; long enough to have driven it in dry, wet, very wet, snowy and blizzard conditions and it?s been pleasing in all of them but was superb in the worst of them. It seems to glue itself to the road in snow and is the only coupe I have ever had that was actually fun to drive in a blizzard.
