...ive owned this product for a number of years now and its great the only things lacking in my opinion are 1. hdmi output 2. even bigger hard drive ((mine now has)) ive upgarded my hard drive for a samsung 250gb one and so now its even better , my new samsung dvd recorder is now gone to the junk room minus its 250 gb hd, the menu syatem and burning screens are much better on panasonics than samsungs!! most dvd's ive used with this product have worked with exception to a few ! picture quality is good and great using component out sound quality is also good and better via the optical out !! if your looking for a dvd recorder that does the job well and that you will be pleased with then look no furrther unless you want hdmi output upscalling or a bigger hard drivem but then again you can always upgrade the hdd... Advantages: Very Stylish, Great Value, and Quiet. A USB hard drive for backups or storage
Disadvantages: A Little on the large side and another mains cable.

...I bought one of these boxes to back up my laptop and paid £80 ish. It did exactly what the advertising said. Just plug in the power cable and connect using the USB cable to your computer and you have an additional drive with a 250gb capacity. Fantastic. The high speed USB performed exceptionally when backing up my Laptop with a total backup (using ntbackup) completing in a fraction of the time taken when using a network drive. I then moved on to use this drive to transfer some static data from a old file server which this drive makes redundant. I am now looking at the DVD's that I use on a regular basis, and considering releasing even more deskspace. Advantages: Space!

...This IDE hard drive replaced 3 aging hard drives on my wifes PC (the result fo a power surge!) The drive shipped with all you need to get it installed (apart from a screwdriver!), and was phsically installed in no time. Then I hit a snag - the fresh insatll windows XP only saw the drive as a 128gb drive. A quick trip to the Maxtor website, and a search for xp and wrong size yielded the solution (in my case, it was to upgrade to service pack 1). However, it would be well worth potential purchasers ensuring that their motherboard chipset/disk controller and operating system support drives this large before purchasing. I have since used the drive heavily for video editing, and find it an absolute pleasure in use. Capturing video at DVD resolutions, it copes with the data transfer beautifully. ...GB, so logically I bought the 120 GB one for just under £80. Considering the price I could have got more storage for less money but decided that it was worth paying a little extra to have a smaller hard drive as opposed to paying say £60 and having a great whopping tower drive to cart around.
