Philips DVP3020 - Stylish and cheap!

Advantages: Stylish, good picture and audio quality, pretty good range of supported formats
Disadvantages: Had problem with a previous unit not working properly, Only region 2 compatible

...This DVD player might not have all the features and playback compatibility of some units but it certainly has a good look and feel to it. You can pick it up very cheaply too. It might not support DivX or Xvid playback but for me thats not a problem, however if you like to download movies and play them back using this kind of technology then this won't fit the bill for you (although I believe that there is a model Philips do which does include DivX playback, with the same sleek design just a slightly larger spec at maybe £30 or so more than this model, so that would probably be worth looking into). This DVD player offers progressive scan, which gives it better picture quality compared to the old bog standard DVD players, it however does not upscale to HDMI (near HD picture quality). SAGEM MW3020

Advantages: small, spacey looking, cheapish

...Already a sort of dinosaur compared to the phones that you can buy now, the sagem MW3020 is a great little phone, it simply doesnt have all the high tech pic stuff. It isnt a picture phone. Doesnt have a camera and cannot receive MMS. You can go online, but its fiddly and slow. The shape of the phone is good, it has a waist where you can grip it easily, and it isnt so small that you look like a div trying to talk into your hand because noone can see the phone there LOL This one was £69.99 from the Carphonewarehouse although you can get them a lot cheaper nowadays, around £30 - £50. On pay as you go, you get all the usual stuff, charger, sim, manual etc plus some free airtime. On the vodafone network, the airtime is easy to get, and it seems to be the best network suited to this little phone. It only has 3 games on it...

...Having watched this film on Channel 4 at the weekend (I have the DVD also but just had to watch it) I've decided to review it for anyone who hasn't seen it. Although, I see that a lot of people have already seen it as the UK premier on Channel 4 attracted 1 million viewers!! The Notebook is a beautiful romance that still makes me cry after numerous viewings. It is poignant, romantic, sad, hopeful and uplifting all rolled into one. The Notebook was actually developed from a book written by the American author Nicholas Sparks in 1996. It spent over a year as a hardcover best seller. The film version was released in 2004. Leatherheads DVD

Advantages: Funny, George Clooney

...almost filmed like that too, quite fast paced and uses a lot of old time props such as steam trains and really adds a good element to the film. The costumes are great as well and it really makes you lust after the wardrobe of Renee Zellweger. George Clooney plays his part extremely well too and although he is looking a bit older he still pulls off the rugged, football player look. John Kraskinsi is not as an established actor as the other too but does not seem out of his depth at all and really holds his own against the other two stars. There are not too many bonus features in this DVD, just some deleted scenes which are quite funny in places. The film lasts for approximately 1 hour and 49 minutes and it is a PG, containing mild language and comic violence. I would not rush to see this film again but it is funny enough, different...
