Five classic drama movies from the 1950s. Anastasia (1956) is Anatole Litvak's screen adaptation of the popular play written by Marcelle Maurette. Bergman stars as an amnesiac in Paris during the early 1920s who is picked up by an exiled White Russian General (Yul Brynner) and encouraged to pose as the long- lost daughter, Anastasia, of the murdered Czar Nicholas of Russia. If she successfully passes as Anastasia, the General and his co-horts stand to gain the £10 million that has been held in trust at the Bank of England. However, they have to convince the only surviving member of the Romanov family, the Grand Duchess (Helen Hayes) before they can get their hands on the money. Love is a Many-Splendored Thing (1955) is set in Hong Kong during the Korean War. A Eurasian female doctor (Jennifer Jones) and an American journalist (William Holden) fall in love. However, their love does not run a smooth course as he is already married and her family and friends do not approve. In Three Coins in a Fountain (1954), three American women in Rome fall for the myth that if you throw a coin into the Fountain of Trevi your wishes will be granted. Naturally, they all wish to be swept off their feet by Italian men, and the film chronicles their rocky road to romance. The Inn of the Sixth Happiness (1958) is the true story of an English missionary who led a hundred children over enemy territory in pre-WWII China. Robert Donat plays a Chinese mandarin in his final screen performance and North Wales stands in for the Chinese countryside. An Affair To Remember (1957) stars Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr as a playboy and a nightclub singer who embark on a shipboard romance and eventually fall completely in love with each other. They decide to make a pact that when they arrive to their separate homes, they will end their respective relationships, and rendezvous in six months' time at the top of the Empire State Building. One DVD box-set, CAN make a Difference!
Advantages: Every episode including Pilot Movie and Follow up Movie, all in DVD splendour! Great Box Design!
Disadvantages: Strange ordering of the episodes. Could have more DVD extra's
..., and normally disastrous, re-boot and big screen treatment, but for me there is nothing like the original. Knight Rider was a show I grew up with and followed it religiously, and I admit I'm still a fan today. In 2006, the complete set of episodes was released in the form of a rather outstanding DVD box-set. Here are my thoughts on this classic fantasy drama/crime show presented in this ultimate DVD...

All is not LOST..
Advantages: Will appeal to fans of the series & worth a watch..
Disadvantages: Not as good as Season 1 - Feels predictable in places & slightly 'jumbled' storylines at times..
..., and animal lovers would find it an interesting watch I'm sure. The rest of the bonus features on this disc didn't really appeal as much, but I was impressed with the selection of bonus features provided with the box set overall, and felt that there was something to suit most viewers' tastes.
As @ June 2012, you can buy the DVD boxset of Lost Season 2 from www.amazon.co.uk for around £15, with prices...
