DVD+R Good

Advantages: Very reliable, come in a ase
Disadvantages: Not very cheap, slow burn speed, not printale

...of purchase, writable DVDs were still quite expensive so a box of five including cases was pretty good value. Once I got the disks home and began using them with a vengeance, I was really pleased with the results; 5 out of 5 disks burnt correctly without any trace of fault. Best of all, the disks that I created also worked perfectly in my Yamada DVD player. How pleased was I! In fact, I was so pleased that I went back to WH Smith and bought another three boxes of the DVD+Rs and another two of DVD-Rs.   DVD Player that can play DivX .avi files and more!

Advantages: Plays DivX AVI and MPEG files, Supports lots of formats, Looks good, Karaoke,

..., it marks it by bevelling the box, which at times makes it harder to tell which file you selected. When you've found a file you want to play, just press 'Play' or 'Enter'. Once it has finished playing a file, it will move to the next one. I've found that the DVD-500 plays DivX files well with no loss of quality. These were DivX files on CD-R and DVD-R. These files are highly compressed Video files in the AVI format (has the extension .avi). I've also managed to play Mpeg (.mpg) video files but found that the player does not support WMV (Windows Media Video) and simply skips the file altogether. The player is also able to play MP3 files. A few niggles with playing files though is the navigation. Although easy, it still does take a second (possibly half a second) to move from track to track so it's definitely not very zippy. DVD's a Plenty!!!

Advantages: cheap, compact, great bargain

...DVD player was silent as can be. It was able to play well, fast forward at a good speed still without making any noise and I can really say nothing bad about it. For a mere £20 I find this DVD player and exceptionally fantastic bargain and one I shall shout from the rooftops! stable DVD-/+R!!!

...This DVD-/+R is absolutely amazing, it has never let me down! First, the This type of DVD is said to be Data/Video and it does what the description say. When i first burnt my home video on to this DVD-/+R and played it on my DVD player, i thought it wasn't going to recognize it, however it played it correctly without jumping tracks or anything!. I tried burning with my other DVD-/+R but all of them didn't recognized my home video, sadly! Personally, i would go for DVD+R for burning home videos. Burning it using data as a storage also delivers a high quality. There were no errors and each time, it recognized the disc because some 'crappy' DVD-/+R doesn't even load it on the computer, HOwever, TDK is top-notch. The burning speed for DVD is 1-4x so it's not that slow. To burn the whole Data of 4.7gb would take about 30 minutes...

...DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP!!! My advice would be if you have or been given one for Xmas - take it the hell back and get a refund or exchange it for a NON Samsung DVD recorder. Samsung should be prosecuted for selling what is obviously a faulty machine! Plenty of reviews online ALL saying the same thing - it will NOT accept DVD-RW. So, not fit for purpose. Samsung will probably blame the consumer, as always. Well, FOUR brands of HIGH QUALITY BRAND NAMES, cleaning the lensas suggested on some sites DOES NOT WORK! An Exciting Review on Blank DVD-R`s

On completion I took the BulkPaq DVD-R, now burned with a movie, to my DVD player and it detected the disk instantly and played it as it would the original film, as this was a concern of mine that my relatively old DVD player would not be able to read the disks I was understandably delighted. BulkPaq DVD-R`s receive the full five stars from me, they do the job that they were created for well, and really that is all you can ask from such a product.
