Fawlty Towers!
Advantages: Superb comedy with John Cleese
Disadvantages: It's a shame there weren't more series
...in PAL format, Subtitles (other than English): French, German and Dutch, Picture Format 4:3, DVD release date: 19 November 2001. Rated PG (Parental Guidance)
Price: £22.99 - a super price for the whole series!
Conclusion:
This is a great British comedy which can be described as being short and sweet and has not been overdone. It is a shame of course that there aren't any more episodes of superb comedy from John Cleese. The boxset also includes every episode as well as some great features and is certainly worth buying for any Fawlty Towers fan so you can watch those great episodes over and over again!
Of course if you really enjoy watching these and seeing John Cleese in particular it would be worth watching some of his other films and series such as Monty Python and the films....

Fawlty Towers
Advantages: fantastic humour from the god of all moaners
Disadvantages: none apart from not enough episodes made
...Created by John Cleese and Connie Booth.
Series 1 produced and directed by John Howard Davies.
Series 2 produced by Dougkas Argent, Directed by Bob Spiers.
Starring John Cleese, Prunella Scales, Andrew Saches and Connie Booth.
Fawlty towers was a classic comedy, set in a fictional hotel in Torquay, which began in September 1975 until October 1979, creating 12 episodes into 2 series.
The main Characters being the hotel owners Basil Fawlty, (played by John Cleese), with his stressed out attitude and the tendency to create chaos out of calm. Also his wife Sybil (played by Prunella Scales), with her beehive hair style and laid back, if lazy, attitude.
Then there was the housekeeper Polly, (played by Connie Booth) and Manuel, (played by Andrew Saches), the Spanish waiter with his pigeon English and his willingness to please...

Faulty Tower
Advantages: Lots of stars in their hey-days, easy to follow plot
Disadvantages: Drags in some places and these days, seems really scary!
...This classic disaster film from 1974 is based on 2 novels - "The Tower" and "The Glass Inferno". The film works I think because we don't know who will survive except for that fact that Steve McQueen and Paul Newman will obviously get out!
This film has been on TV numerous times and even in these days of real disaster, it's still an exciting film. It must have looked superb on the big screen. It's made by the same person who made "The Poseidon Adventure" - Irwin Allen.
The basic plot of what I think is the ultimate disaster movie, centres around a fire in a multi-storey building. It's part offices, part hotel suites. Guests in the world's biggest skyscraper get trapped at the top of the building when a fire breaks out near the lower floors. The fire is caused by cheap electrical wiring and bad construction. We follow...

A (Two) Towering Inferno
Advantages: more epic adventure from Jackson
Disadvantages: a slower and dark film than the first
...The second film in Peter Jackson's vision of bringing Tolkien's epic story to the screen is the real test for the viewer. After a light beginning and an easy storyline, the saga fractures into three separate interwoven tales, is slower going and the dark shadows of a world shattering war begin to hang over the land. It is the heaviest part of the tale in many ways but is only a reflection of the book. Any good story requires a beginning, middle and an end, and that is the simplest way to look at the three films. Fellowship of the Ring sets up the overall themes and introduces the characters. The Return of The King is the epic finale, heroes are made, dramatic victories are achieved and like all good tales everyone gets their just desserts. The Two Towers is the vehicle between the two. That may be doing it a disservice as it is, in its...

Utter comedy chaos! (Fawlty Towers series 1)
Advantages: brilliant comedy acting and hilarious slapstick.
Disadvantages: completely disadvantage free!
...for this DVD a long while ago, it can now be found for slightly less than that but whatever you pay for it you will not be disappointed.
★My summary★
If you have read any of my earlier reviews than you might have come across other comedy classics I have written about such as Only Fools and Horses and Blackadder, whilst this series differs greatly from those two it is still a big favourite of mine. Unlike Only Fools And Horses and Blackadder this show is more about great character performances than great writing and funny lines, although there are plenty funny lines in Fawlty Towers a lot of the humour comes from the way the great john Cleese ( Basil) and Andrew Sachs (Manuel) put the humour across. Some of the scenes between the two of them are as hilarious when watched for the hundredth time as they were the first. In my...

The CN Tower
Advantages: Read Opp
Disadvantages: None
...So this next review is about my experience in the CN tower, when I visited Toronto Canada. I had visited a number of big attraction sights in Toronto, but this was one of the one?s that a enjoyed extremely. It was fun, exciting, bold and out of this world, it was a plus that I wasn?t afraid of heights, so for anyone who does suffer from vertigo, it might be a challenge to visit this place. I had been to Toronto once before, however I was only 8 and thus didn?t have the chance to visit the CNN tower only views it from outside. I promised myself that I would come back one day to visit this attraction, only took me over a decade to come back, but it was highly worth the wait.
Information and the CN Tower:
The CN tower started its construction in 1975, once the construction was complete it stood at a mammoth 1,815.4 ft) tall, making it...

towering epic
Advantages: The best 'shoot out' since Heat!
Disadvantages: The year we have to wait for the final part!!
...for 2 years of their lives.
The making of The Two Towers got me hooked. So I got my sister to get me The Fellowship of the Ring on DVD and the rest is history!
I was not sure how the second part of this amazing story would start considering it starts in the middle of the story, but it works. I also wasn't sure that sitting in a cinema for 3 hours would be a good idea, especially after seeing Die Another Day. I've recently had heart surgery and sitting in one place for so long is a challenge!!!
So, like a sensible girl, I took my painkillers and beta blockers before going into the film, and I can honestly say they were the best 3 hours I have had in ages!! You are dragged back into the story straight away - I think the dream sequence worked as a very short review of the last film.
There was more humour in this story than...

Alton Towers- What a day
Advantages: All in one place, Fantastic grounds, Helpful Staff
Disadvantages: Really just the Q time
...After a visit to Alton Towers theme park, I thought it was about time I complete a review on my experience there.
Why Alton Towers
We as a group chosen Alton Towers for many reasons, but mainly because it has many fantastic rides that will take your breath away, in addition to the fantastic scenery. We had heard from other friends that it's an adventure for children and adults alike. We wanted to go somewhere that we would have a fantastic time and also be able to get some memorable pictures and stories
Getting There
We driven from Scotland (Edinburgh) - It taken approximately 5hrs to drive there, that was leaving at 2am and getting to Stoke at 7am. Alton Towers theme park is a 20 min drive from Stoke.
Travelling from the North you need to take Junction 15 off the M6, when travelling on the M6 be aware there are...

...Alton Towers with a Toddler
I visited Alton towers yesterday and while this attraction has plenty for both grown ups and children I visited with my toddler son. I first visited Alton towers when I was a child myself and have experienced the big rollercoaster's such as Air and Nemesis but this visit was completely different so thought it would be useful to do a review of a family visit.
