Advantages: Superb comedy with John Cleese

Rated PG (Parental Guidance) Price: £22.99 - a super price for the whole series! Conclusion: This is a great British comedy which can be described as being short and sweet and has not been overdone. It is a shame of course that there aren't any more episodes of superb comedy from John Cleese. The boxset also includes every episode as well as some great features and is certainly worth buying for any Fawlty Towers fan so you can watch those great episodes over and over again! Of course if you really enjoy watching these and seeing John Cleese in particular it would be worth watching some of his other films and series such as Monty Python and the films....

Fawlty Towers

Advantages: fantastic humour from the god of all moaners
Disadvantages: none apart from not enough episodes made

Faulty Tower

Advantages: Lots of stars in their hey-days, easy to follow plot
Disadvantages: Drags in some places and these days, seems really scary!

...This classic disaster film from 1974 is based on 2 novels - "The Tower" and "The Glass Inferno". The film works I think because we don't know who will survive except for that fact that Steve McQueen and Paul Newman will obviously get out! This film has been on TV numerous times and even in these days of real disaster, it's still an exciting film. It must have looked superb on the big screen. It's made by the same person who made "The Poseidon Adventure" - Irwin Allen. The basic plot of what I think is the ultimate disaster movie, centres around a fire in a multi-storey building. It's part offices, part hotel suites. Guests in the world's biggest skyscraper get trapped at the top of the building when a fire breaks out near the lower floors. Utter comedy chaos! (Fawlty Towers series 1)

Advantages: brilliant comedy acting and hilarious slapstick.
Disadvantages: completely disadvantage free!

...for this DVD a long while ago, it can now be found for slightly less than that but whatever you pay for it you will not be disappointed. ★My summary★ If you have read any of my earlier reviews than you might have come across other comedy classics I have written about such as Only Fools and Horses and Blackadder, whilst this series differs greatly from those two it is still a big favourite of mine. Unlike Only Fools And Horses and Blackadder this show is more about great character performances than great writing and funny lines, although there are plenty funny lines in Fawlty Towers a lot of the humour comes from the way the great john Cleese ( Basil) and Andrew Sachs (Manuel) put the humour across. Advantages: more epic adventure from Jackson
Disadvantages: a slower and dark film than the first

...The second film in Peter Jackson's vision of bringing Tolkien's epic story to the screen is the real test for the viewer. After a light beginning and an easy storyline, the saga fractures into three separate interwoven tales, is slower going and the dark shadows of a world shattering war begin to hang over the land. towering epic

Advantages: The best 'shoot out' since Heat!
Disadvantages: The year we have to wait for the final part!!

...for 2 years of their lives. The making of The Two Towers got me hooked. So I got my sister to get me The Fellowship of the Ring on DVD and the rest is history! I was not sure how the second part of this amazing story would start considering it starts in the middle of the story, but it works. I also wasn't sure that sitting in a cinema for 3 hours would be a good idea, especially after seeing Die Another Day. I've recently had heart surgery and sitting in one place for so long is a challenge!!! So, like a sensible girl, I took my painkillers and beta blockers before going into the film, and I can honestly say they were the best 3 hours I have had in ages!! ...Alton Towers Over the summer my husband and I went over to Alton Towers for a few days for a break. For those who haven't heard of Alton Towers it's a large theme park with attractions and thrill rides. It cost £37(adult) and £28 (child) to get in. They do deals for example if you buy in advance online it costs £29.50 (adult) and £22.80. The park has several different sections offering various things to certain age groups. As you arrive into the park the entrance has lots of shops and an information desk. To the right you can go to Sharkbait Reed by Sealife which to be honest was rather small and disappointing for me. It had different types of tropical fish which you could look a. I thought it was more aimed at younger children. Beside it was a section, which had a pirates theme, which included a pirate show at certain times...
