Dyson DC14 Allergy

Advantages: Powerful, doesn't lose suction and a wide range of optional extras
Disadvantages: I can't get on with the angled crevice tool

...I started out with the original Dyson DC01 but I was always convinced mine wasn't as powerful as my mums and didn't remove dog hair very well. After buying a new carpet I bought the DC14 Allergy at a special offer price a couple of weeks ago and I wouldn't be without it now. It almost takes the carpet up with it!! And it loves dog hair. It really does make vaccuuming easy. When using the pipe, it almost takes off but I guess you need to actually be holding it to believe it. The only thing I can't get on with is the angled crevice tool. I much preferred the straight one on my original Dyson. You can also buy a mini turbine head to attatch to the pipe (which I will invest in) which makes cleaning stairs even easier. The pipe is long enough to reach to the top of the stairs in one go. All in all, a fantastic cleaner....

Dyson DC23 Animal

Advantages: Great if you do not have long hair
Disadvantages: Turbine head traps long hair

...I rate dysons very highly but was extremely disappointed with this new model with the turbine head. Yes it does pick up fine hairs with ease. However, on the opposite end of the scale the turbine head traps long hair. If you have thick, strong, long black hair like me with a high turnover, it renders the turbine head useless. After a few rooms I have to stop and cut the mass of trapped hair with scissors to prevent the machine overheating. I have tried turning the turbine head off (which is recommended on wooden floors). However I have carpeted floors and the turbine head is next to useless at picking up hair without the turbine. I have emailed dyson just now because what I need is the DC23 allergy floor tool. In effect I need to turn my DC23 animal into a DC23 allergy at a considerable expense. In summary, I wish I had...

Dyson DC 20 Allergy

Advantages: Deep cleaning, Allergy protection, compact, easy to use, bagless
Disadvantages: initial cost, but well worth the money

Dyson DC07 Origin vs Turquoise Allergy

Advantages: Origin = Excellent all-rounder/ Allergy = Strong suction

You NEED to buy a Dyson!

Advantages: All you could want from a vacuum cleaner

...I LOVE my Dyson DC19! I paid £119.99 from LX Direct and I have also seen this great price in my local Sainsburys so it pays to shop around. This is by far the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned and I have owned MANY ( cats, dog, kids, big house, cars etc), any cleaner in this house is bound to take a bashing and I usually find that the brushes fall apart, or the hoses split and it ends up looking like a comedy of errors held together with duct tape, but not this one!! So, what do I like most? Not having to continually buy dust bags has to be a major factor, and saves a lot of money. Being able to see how full it is - I love this part when my son announces theres nothing wrong with his bedroom and and I go in there with the Dyson and come out with a full tank! Being able to strip it down and wash all the bits is great...

Fantastic Dyson DC15

Advantages: Great for pets
Disadvantages: very heavy, difficult to carry upstairs

...I have always purchased the cheapest hoover available thinking they all done the same job so why pay more? This all changed when we got our dog, he has got very long dark hair and sheds it all over the house which didn't look good all over my cream carpets! The old hoover was fine up until then, so I decided to get a new one which was from argos and said 'great for pets' which cost around £80 which I thought was very expensive at the time so bought it regardless. This hoover still didn't pick up the hairs. I'd given up by this point and was saving up for laminate flooring as I thought if a hoover which was made for pets didnt work then what would but luckily for me my friend was moving away and getting rid of everything including her dyson DC15 so she give me it. Advantages: Bagless, powerful, 5 year warranty, great suction.

Great compact hoover, excellent suction

...When my last Dyson Hoover died on me after 15 years as it has lasted so well I felt that it had to be a Dyson again. They are definitely worth the expense. I chose the Dyson DC23 because we wanted something more compact than the upright Dyson that we had previously. This model is very compact and the hose and wand winds around the base very well and easily. The power cable pulls out of the base and automatically rewinds on the press of a button. It comes with the main floor tool and 3 attachments (stair tools, crevice tool, brush tool). It is also very good at getting pet hair off the carpet, which other Hoovers don't seem to do. The Dyson Hoover sucks up alot of stuff that other Hoovers leave behind. Once you have used a dyson, you will never use anything else. A Dyson Hoover is a good investment.
