...I have two Dyson DC 14 Animals. I am a Dyson fan, I also have the washing machine. I purchased the first Animal as my original DC01 was getting a bit old but is still going strong in my husband's workshop! I then won a second Animal in a store draw six months later. As they are extremely heavy to get up and down the stairs we decided to keep one upstairs and one downstairs. We were impressed with the suction of this machine, it is even more efficient than the DC01. The animal attachment is very good for vacuuming mattresses and removing all the dead skin and stuff, the container usually has an impressive white layer after the mattress is finished! The attachment is very good on pet hairs too. The hose is difficult to manipulate, the wand stops it being as manoeverable as it could be, but Dyson did advise me to take the hose right... ...Dyson DC20 Animal Stowaway Pro : This Vacuum cleaner is 'THE BEST' I have ever used/owned. It beats the Kirby every time, cost wise, It out performs every other vacuum I have ever tried, as a Decorator I operate many clients vac's, none come close to the Dyson for efficient dust and paper collection. The brush floor tool is absolutely brilliant, whether you have pets or not.. just get one... it cleans right to the very edge of the carpet... no more dusty lines. The picture doesnt lie, it folds away exactly like that so its unobtrusive. All the tools are attatched to the vac, in easy reach.. not shoved in a cupboard, just press a button to disconnect the cleaning head, slip on the attatchment and hey presto... nuf sed! ...Well I bought a Dyson 5 years ago the dyson 01 it cost me £189.99 and I also took out there extra protection which cost £54.00.Well it is the best money I have ever spent, the extra protection is extended for a further 3 years. After the first 2 years normal garantee. In the first 2 years I had to send it back only once and it was for a minor fault they came and collected it the next day and it was back with me about 5 days later. Other than that it has gone back once more and that to was for a minor fault/ when I bought it I had 3 dogs. One of which was a white lab, and she molted all the time and compared to my old vacuum, which was a VAX, it was like a gift from heaven. There was no effort to use it. ...I had been thinking about buying a Dyson for some time, but had been put off in the past at the thought of spending a lot of money on a vacuum cleaner. However, I must say that now that I have decided to splash out on this Dyson, I have no regrets whatsoever! It is a very powerful machine, and picks up so much more than my previous vacuum did - my rugs and carpets are noticeably cleaner. The Dyson works very well on wooden floor boards too, which attract a lot of dust and fluff. There is a mechanism that you can alter depending on the type of surface you are vacuuming. For example, when you move from a hard surface onto a carpeted surface, you can switch to 'turbine' mode, and this enables the Dyson to pick up bits that might be stuck in the carpet. ...When you have animals in the house, one thing that you need in order to make your house smell fresh and clean is a good system of cleaning, and when I looked into which Hoover to buy, I kept being drawn to the Dyson, a little because of the advertising, and a little because of the design, though I have to admit when I parted with my £195, I was a little afraid that the Dyson would not live up to its promises, and that I would be stuck with a gadget that looked pretty rather than an effective cleaning system. CLAIMS MADE BY THE MANUFACTURER. The Manufacturer claims to have invented Cyclone technology which sounds very fancy, but what in fact does this mean to the average housewife ? Another hint, if you already have a Dyson and don't want to go to the expense of changing one that is in brilliant working order, buy the animal attatchment through Currys or Dyson. ...I purchased my Dyson DC07 Animal about four years ago, it was purchased to replace an original DC01 which I was really pleased with, so pleased that when I damaged the machine (I fell down the stairs with it) I replaced it with the DC07. My DC07 cost approximately £350. Initially, I was just as pleased with the DC07, it did everything it said it would. However, after only a few months things started to go wrong: Split tubes (both stretchy tubes on the machine failed) Cyclone unit had to be replaced Filter housing had to be replaced The customer service team were first class. Each time I phoned them they talked me through the problems, which in most cases resulted in them despatching a new part. ...I simply love this vacuum cleaner. I am not usually particularly excited about household appliances... but... the Dyson Animal sledge cleaner is a gem. It is easily stored (useful in an apartment), and simply beautifully effective. Vacuuming isn't the world's most exciting task... but when the carpet becomes visibly lighter, brighter then the task is considerably more rewarding. The Dyson is not too heavy (a criticism of some of the other models), has a good selection of tools, with a sensible selection of nozzles to cover the full range of large areas/edges/corners/etc. It is well made, solid and functional, and it looks pretty too! The dust collection bin has a good volume, and is easy to empty. Very powerful, it deals easily with the usual dust & dirt, as well as being the most effective on pet hairs that I have found. All... ...The Animal is an upgraded version of the standard DC07, it has the added advantage of being suitable for flat and carpeted surfaces and additionally was designed to remove pet hairs. It is primarily of plastic grey and contrasting purple construction. and has the Dyson "root" cyclone technology which according to Mr Dyson, provides an additional 45% more suck for you money...Nice! My wife is a self-employed cleaning contractor,so we decided to purchase this model as it appears to be a good "all-rounder," with the additional pet hair removal power. We also felt that the brand was trusted for quality and reliability.... and it comes with the Dyson two year warranty. The Device arrives boxed and requires basic assembly!
