Review of Dyson DC 08 Origin by
philipclarke
Advantages: better than a hoover
Disadvantages: falls to pieces
...What can I say Dyson DC08 £269.00 worth of dynamic purple/blue elegant plastic, it has more innovations
than latest car from Audi. You think this piece of work ready hardware would be the begin and end all.....But alas my friends this is not the case, what load of junk it is , mine , well let me tell you the story my sister bought the DC08 and told me what an excellent cleaner it was much better than her electrolux, i thought hey i'm looking for a new cleaner maybe i'll get one of these, so off i went spent my £269.00 and a hoovering I went, well the first four weeks was good then i noticed that the flipin case was coming apart , anyway i soldier on but it got worse over the preceeding months , so i rang my sister and she said she had got rid of the Dyson it fell to pieces (thanks I thought) i said what have you got now a SEBO she said...

Dirt and Dust Die with Dyson!
Review of Dyson DC 08 Origin by
chcouper
Advantages: Superb suction
Disadvantages: Very pricey
...with changing a bag and having to get your hands dirty.
There are now a wide range of Dysons available. I opted against the upright version because I have a small flat and thought that the DC08 would better meet my needs as it comes with a detachable hose which reaches about 3 metres. (I was also tempted by an offer in Argos which gave me £50 off the listed price of over £200!) Features of the DC08 include three additional attachments, a cable rewind button, a low reach floor tool, and washable filters.
Ease of Use
Putting the Dyson together was simple. It comes with a very clear set of instructions and the entire process took only about five minutes. My only reservation as to ease of use would be that it is quite heavy and the less physically fit may find it hard to move around in smaller areas. However, the cable rewind button...

Dyson are superb
Review of Dyson DC 08 Origin by
Mazzie63
Advantages: no loss of suction
Disadvantages: none
...I got my Dyson about two years ago. The DC08 was the newest of the bunch and I'd been pining after one for a very long time.
I bought mine from an employee of Dyson for £100 and was not dissapointed.
The vacuum is permanently strong and maybe the previous reviewer should contact the Dyson helpline as it sounds like there may be something wrong.
I've been delighted with my machine, it has a myriad of different attachments that fit well and cause no loss of suction. The cable rewinds itself so no storage problems with cable getting hooked up everywhere.
The hose, tube and head store on the cylinder so that also requires very little room though the hose does tend to tip slightly sideways meaning I have to shove it a whole foot back against the wall when I want to get past it to go into the garage.........
I have purchased a really nice...

Dyson -it never loses suction
Review of Dyson by
yummy.mummy
Advantages: Fantastic quality and technology
Disadvantages: None -yes -I say none!
...that was incorporated with the new Dyson Root Cyclone technology. It was given the title "the original root cyclone upright" It was very similar in features to the DC04.
- DC08 -This was the new cylinder model that incorporated the new Dyson Root Cyclone technology
- DC08T - T is short for 'Telescope Wrap'. Wand handle is telescopic and the hose wraps around the machine
- DC11 - Parallel root cyclone packs to fit the wrapped machine in a smaller space.
- DC12 - small cylinder machine released in Japan.
- DC12+ This was one of Dyson's top-of-the-range models. It was fitted with the high-speed Digital Motor, revolving at 100,000rpm.
- DC14 - This was released in 2004. It was a revision of upright vacuum cleaner with lower centre of gravity and 'telescope reach.' It comes in 4 variants - the standard DC14, the All Floors, the Allergy...

Goodbye heavy upright hoover Hello Dyson DCO8!
Review of Dyson DC 08 Origin by
Ozziefi
Advantages: very effective suction & light to use
Disadvantages: difficult to remove long hair from turbo brush
...I was secretly glad recently when my hoover died as I was finally able to buy a Dyson vacuum. I have wanted a Dyson for some time but could not justify the expense when my 'functional' but heavy Hoover was still working. The Dyson is worth every penny I paid for it and Vacuuming for me is no longer a 'chore'. It is such a pleasure to use the DC08 after using a heavy upright hoover. In comparison to my Hoover the DC08 is so light & easy to use.
The suction is brilliant and it was amazing the amount of dirt that came out of my carpet the first time I used the Dyson.
I really like the adjustable 'wand' which allows you to have the handle at the correct height. No more backaches caused by bending in an awkward way while vacuuming. I also like the clear cylinder - it makes it so much easier to see those wretched little pieces of lego...

A waste of money
Review of Dyson DC 08 Animal by
paulpry118
Advantages: nothing
Disadvantages: hose too short and complete lack of suction
...,127 prototypes later the worlds first bagless vacuum cleaner was produced. The first vacuums were sold in Japan for $2000 each and was originally called the G Force.
In 1993 James Dyson opened his research centre and factory in Wiltshire and produced a machine that collected finer dust particles. The DC01, was the first vacuum to ne released in the uk. James Dyson was constantly improving on his invention I think the vacuums are now upto DC15. He also went on the produce the 1st washing machine that used two drums.
The DC08
The DC08 Animal was made with the intention of picking up pet hairs. It is a cylinder cleaner and is silver and purple in colour and made of very solid plastic with plastic and rubberised wheels. I have just put it on the scales and it weighs approx. 14lbs (I say approx. because i'n not sure how accurate my scales...

The Dyson DC08 Origin
Review of Dyson DC 08 Origin by
lostsworld
Advantages: Many
Disadvantages: trying to find some
...Well I've finally bit the bullet and bought what I call and expensive hoover considering I normally only spend about £50 on one.
My previous hoover sprint had almost had its day so it was time to get a new one. Reading many reviews on ciao I decided on a Dyson, but which one is best ? well I saw this one on offer for £139 and decided to get it.
~ Dyson ~
The Dyson brand is a very well know brand when it comes to vacuum cleaners and a few people I know have them and swear by them. So what's the big deal ? - cleaning power and no loss of suction, robust and reliable. Dyson also make quite a lot of different models for which ever purpose you require. Apparently Dyson only make dry hoovers which is fine for us.
~ The DC08 Origin ~
Bought it, put extra cover on it and brought it home in a nice big box. The DC08 is a cylinder...

SUCK ON THIS
Review of Dyson DC 08 Origin by
thingywhatsit
Advantages: Design lives up to its promise.
Disadvantages: Price.
...machine. This cost is now unecessary.
APPROVAL BY THE BRITISH ALLERGY FOUNDATION
Now this claim was interesting to me because in our homes, we harbour all kinds of dust mites, and unpleasant hidden allergens. The Dyson claims to remove even the smallest particles and this is why it has the backing of the British Allergy Foundation. Putting this to the test, I hoovered the bed and carpets that normally house mites that are unseen to the human eye, and my allergies are more in control than they have ever been since using the Dyson. Again, a claim that has been proven.
MANOEUVREBILITY
Dyson claim that the hoover moves easily because its centre of gravity is in the rear of the machine. Here, I cannot question their claim. The Dyson is like a pull along toy. It is so easy to manoeuvre and much less wearing on the back, as well as being able...

Waging War on Pet Hairs
Review of Dyson DC 08 Origin by
sandrabarber
Advantages: Cleans brilliantly
Disadvantages: A bit cumbersome
...I swore I’d never buy a Dyson. Not at that price. How good could a vacuum be to warrant such a whopping monetary difference? No matter what I read, or how good people told me a Dyson was, I didn’t believe the price could possibly be justified. A classic case of paying for the name.
But then 6 months ago yet another vacuum cleaner broke on me after not much use and I decided to face the ‘told you so’s’ and splash out.
After a lot of reading, researching and online price comparisons, I decided on the DC08 Animal cylinder model. I thought that maybe it was the cat hairs that had buggered my previous vacuums, so decided to splash out on a model specifically designed to cope with the havoc pets wreak on your carpets.
I paid around £220 for my DC08 Animal from the online Co-op Electrical Shop. This is about £40 more than the DC08 non...
