Dyson DC14 a powerful sucker!

Advantages: Bagless, powerful, 5 year warranty, great suction.
Disadvantages: No cord auto cord rewind.

...This vacuum cleaner is the latest addition to my home, after my Vax bagless finally gave up. The one I am reviewing is the DC14 for carpeted floors, though there are the DC14 animal and all floors versions. Dyson claim that it never loses suction, and I have to say (at present) is completely true. The Features: Root Cyclone Technology. This means that it maintains powerful constant suction, so that you get deep down clean. Telescope Reach Wand. This enables you to reach high places without having to assemble awkward parts. ...I bought the Dyson, as I wanted a vacuum cleaner, which was capable of coping with cat hair removal and also had a high filtration level for asthma sufferers. Each DC-14 is colour coded to the special facilities it offers. I have the steel gray and purple version, which has the Hepa filter, extra pet hair mini turbine head, adjustable brush for carpets and tiles plus the standard tools. The standard model is yellow and gray, and does not have the adjustable brush. It is suitable only for carpets, not for tiles. GOOD POINTS For standard use, it is very effective on carpets, and it is shocking at first on how much dirt has been picked up. It does perform much better than my old vacuum cleaner. Dyson DC14 Allergy

Advantages: Powerful, doesn't lose suction and a wide range of optional extras
Disadvantages: I can't get on with the angled crevice tool

...I started out with the original Dyson DC01 but I was always convinced mine wasn't as powerful as my mums and didn't remove dog hair very well. After buying a new carpet I bought the DC14 Allergy at a special offer price a couple of weeks ago and I wouldn't be without it now. It almost takes the carpet up with it!! And it loves dog hair. It really does make vaccuuming easy. When using the pipe, it almost takes off but I guess you need to actually be holding it to believe it. The only thing I can't get on with is the angled crevice tool. I much preferred the straight one on my original Dyson. You can also buy a mini turbine head to attatch to the pipe (which I will invest in) which makes cleaning stairs even easier. The pipe is long enough to reach to the top of the stairs in one go. All in all, a fantastic cleaner....

Dyson DC14 Animal - A Good Buy

Advantages: Power, Specific for Dog hair and Allergies, mini turbine
Disadvantages: Quite expensive, Long reach tool topples vaccumm at reach

...I have owned a DC 14 Animal with Hepa filter for 3 years now and bought it for around £300. I have had very little to complain about. We have a west highland white terrier and a small child so wanted to purchse the animal because of its specific performace on animal hair and the lifetime Hepa+ filter for allergies. This product does exactly what it says on the tin, powerfull and no loss of suction. In fact it still amazes me today to see how much dirt and dog hair the vaccum collects. This product has never broken and has been used three times a week over the last 3 years. It is a fairly quiet machine but has become more noisy over time. The product comes with a 14 stair long reach telscopic pole and mini vaccum turbine head. This is an excellent tool for use on stairs as the mini turbine head has its own built in rollers and brushes...

Dyson not hoover

...Having own the original style Dyson some years ago, I had an idea what to expect with the acquisition of the DC 14 when my old hoover's wheels literally came off (wasn't a Dyson by the way). The new Dyson clicked together in a few minutes, I even followed the instructions, and within a minute of registering the Dyson on line for the 5 year guarantee I was hoovering away. The DC 14 boasts some excellent features not least the 1400 w of suction which is pretty awesome expecially when you consider none of that suction is lost as the waste receptical fills. There are no hoover bags to worry about and therefore no loss in suction. The waste management system on the Dyson is again a triumph of style and simplicity over hygiene. I am forever hoovering and cleaning now and have realised that this dyson is fast becomming one of my most used household products. When we bought this dyson we looked at several and were finding it hard to decide between this and one of the ones with a ball mechanism which supposedly make it easier to navigate around furniture. When trying them both out I found the ones with the balls were very strange, they felt unnatural to push as they would go in any direction and this seemed to confuse my wrist! It sucks for England!
