Canon Powershot SX200 IS
Advantages: Lots of zoom, lots of pixels, sturdy
Disadvantages: No internal memory, flash pops up whether you want it to or not
...find it less fiddly when you are taking photos and need a quick battery change.
d) SD-HC memory cards. I already have several of these for my DSLR which is convenient and means any of my cards can be used in both of my cameras.
e) HD video capability of 1280x720. This wasn't majorly important but with the memory cards being so cheap then it's a bonus to have the capability of recording video. Quite good when you are on holiday or at a family gathering and want to record some video but don't want the hassle of a separate camcorder.
Finally, I took advantage of a Canon promotion which gave £40 cashback on this particular model. I'd already decided on this camera so the cashback was a nice bonus. All in all, it cost £234.55 including delivery from Jessops.com.
After a few weeks of use I'm finding that I really like this camera...

Orange SPV E200 - Smartphone or Costly Mistake?
Advantages: Digital camera/Video Camera, Windows Smartphone 2003 operating system, Bluetooth
Disadvantages: Very poor battery life, have to buy SD/MMC card
...I bought my SPV E200 at the start of February 2004 from the Orange Website for £50 (My contract is a basic £25 a month) but is now free with the same contract just over a month later.
LOOKS
The phone itself is qwuite large and bulky but the way I see it, is that it is packed with features. It weighs in at 120g but to its credit has a fantastic 16-bit TFT showing 65,536 colours. This is by far the best screen that I have seen on a phone (better than the Nokia 6600 - which I also have)
Operating System
The phone runs on the Windows Smartphone 2003 operating System, which boasts some fantastic features. Being used to the simplicity of the Nokia 6610 and 6600, this was much more complicated to use. However, being able to run Internet Explorer and MSN Messenger is a fantastic bonus. Also among its array of stunts is playing MP3s...

Expensive Car but Cheap Feeling
Advantages: Good interior
Disadvantages: Gas guzzler!
...of different automobiles that were available to us. They included Volvos, Fords and of course the Mercedes. We were offered a more powerful C180, or the better C200K.
What does that K mean?…
Now you’re all thinking that K means something posh. I do know that it is some engine bit, but it’s purpose is unknown to me. It is probably some wonderful device which will allow you to alter the note produced by the horn to create festive jingles with it…
That K stands for Kompressor. Now I am no car technical guy, so I can’t tell you all sorts of amazing facts about horsepower. But I can tell you about how comfy the seat is – that is more my league. To me, Kompressor means it’s got a nice big juicy engine…
However, when driving, you can hear the Kompressor spreading its magic as it roars away in its...

Lee's PX200E review
Advantages: Good MPG, Easy to work on, comfortable.
Disadvantages: Not quick.
...Have recently purchased a Vespa PX200E (2002) after promising myself one for years. The first thing I have been struck with is how easy they are to work on yourself ( I have little scooter know how) with just a manual as a guide. Managed to fit a new exhaust with little problem and most parts are accesible.
The downsides so far have been pulling a wheelie in the busy streets of london while getting used to the clutch and some unexplained oil leaks. Have been impressed by the handling after riding bigger bikes, as a lot of people told me that they did not handle well at all. Another nice suprise was the MPG it must do at least 60MPG which isnt bad for a 2 Stroke. The scooter is also very light and so far appears to top out at around 70MPH, being more comfortable between 60-65 MPH....

Mercedes CLK 230 Kompressor Coupé
Advantages: A super stylish motor car
Disadvantages: Expensive
...the wondows, while the alternative, "Avantgarde" has black maple wood, and different (7-spoke) wheels.
The 230K engine can get a bit coarse at when pushed hard, but is super quiet when cruising, however, and the CLK does a fine job of minimising wind and road noise (205/55 R16 wheels).
The "K" stands for Kompressor, which is German for supercharger, where air is compressed before entering the cylinders by a system mechanically linked to the engine, so you get all the power, with none of teh "lag" associated with a turbo-charger.
The CLK is most at home on motorways, or nice A roads, where it feels as solid and and comfortable as a you would expect from a Mercedes.
The CLK, from the front, and actually the back, come to think of it, looks very much like a sleeker version of the big (old) E-class saloon, and I believe, looks a lot niver...

Unreliability
Advantages: Some good accessories, comfortable ride
Disadvantages: Poor reliability, expensive servicing, disgraceful aftercare
...I own a 2002 (52 plate) Mercedes, C200, Avantgarde, Kompressor and feel I must let you know (the public) about the vehicle I bought. I am not a "boy racer" but a sixty year old male who has never experienced such unreliability in 40 years of driving with the more common cars (Fords, Vauxhalls etc.).
This car was a 6 month old demonstrator with 7,500 miles on the clock and I paid £ 21,500 for it in 2003. It required a replacement CD player and wing mirror (whilst in warranty). Whilst it was in warranty I also complained about the noise coming from the engine but was told there was nothing wrong with it. Since 55,000 miles it has needed:
1) A new mass air flow sensor for the engine (a static component)
2) A new cylinder head gasket (a static component)
3) Another new wing mirror (due to defective wiring for the indicator)
4...

The new CPD-E200
Advantages: Good price - Excellent display
Disadvantages: A/P wires visible, fiddly OSD button
...I have recently built my own system from scratch. After looking at many reviews in magazines and the web, the monitor I decided to go for was the CPD-E200, as it had some excellent write-ups and for the price, was said to be in a class of it's own for a 17" monitor. Unfortunately, as soon as I tried to order it, it was discontinued :-(
Fortunately, it was going to be replaced by the CPD-E220 :-)
The E220 is, for all intense and purposes, the same monitor as the E200. It looks the same, it has exactly the same specs and the price is the same too. Probably just a propagander plot by Sony.
However, the monitor displays a near perfect picture at very high resolution. I have taken it up to 1280 x 1024 and it looks a treat (except that you cant see the icons because they are so small). I use it at 1124 x 768 and find it suits my eyes...

Sony a200 - one of the best budget dslr cameras available.
Advantages: Great battery life, comfortable in the hands, picture quality.
Disadvantages: Flimsy memory card and remote release slot.
...I was looking for a new camera and had a budget of around £300.
Compact cameras such as the Panasonic Lumix TZ and the Nikon Coolpix P80 kept coming up, as did the Nikon D40 and the Sony a200. I decided to go for the Sony in the end as it was a name I trusted and I had used a compact Sony in the past.
The quality difference between my old compact camera and this camera was incredible. Shots always seem to come out crisp and clear, whatever lighting conditions the picture was taken in. Battery life is great and the percentage meter of battery power remaining is invaluable.
The camera fits well in large hands, and all of the buttons and dials on the camera are comfortably positioned. Having only used a compact camera in the past, the sheer number of options took a while to get used to, but once I was familiar with the camera everything...
